We love everything about fall. Leaves crunching beneath our feet. Cold morning dew. Fields filled with pumpkins, corn stalks and scarecrows. But there are three things we look forward to every year more than anything. When we see these, we get all the fall feels.
From coffee and donuts to salsa and cereal, there seems to be no limit to the sorts of things you can find flavored – or scented – with this infamous spice. You can say what you will about this cultural and corporate obsession, but there’s no denying it’s become the official flavor of fall. It’s everywhere. In everything.
Well, almost. We haven’t perfected our pumpkin spice bath towels yet, but when we do, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, you could try washing bath mats and towels in pumpkin spice laundry detergent. (Yes, that’s an actual thing. You can’t make this stuff up.)
There’s something about flannel we find more and more irresistible the closer we get to fall. It’s napped. It’s cozy. It gives you extra warmth for those fall days that try to get a jump on winter. What’s not to love?
Donning a women’s or men’s flannel shirt is all well and dandy, but why stop there? Fall’s coziest fabric is best when it’s in as many aspects of your life as possible. Think flannel sheets. Flannel duvet covers. Flannel robes. Flannel sleep pants. Flannel-lined women’s and men’s winter coats.
In our experience, there’s not a lot of things that aren’t made better with good, quality flannel. So go wild. (Just maybe not pumpkin-spice wild. We don’t want to hear you got the idea for your “flannel latte” from us.)
This one just might be our favorite. Fall is perhaps the only time of year where you can layer a lightweight down vest over your women’s or men’s fleece jacket. And did we mention women’s or men’s scarves? Layers make looking good easy, and here’s the good news: you don’t have to stop with yourself. You can apply the same philosophy to your home. Adding extra throw pillows and fleece blankets or throws to your living room or bedroom will make your space feel warm, cozy and inviting.
So there they are: the three things you need to make this the best fall ever. If you don’t have them already, fire up the laptop, pour yourself a nice flannel latt – er, mug of hot cider – and get shopping. That pumpkin spice detergent is calling your name.
