4 reasons why I love yoga pants.

Why do I love yoga pants? Well, for one thing, my day starts as soon as the alarm buzzes. Sure, I may hit snooze once (or twice) depending on the day but as soon as my feet hit the floor I’m off running – sometimes quite literally. Between kids, work and basic life maintenance, it can get more than a little hectic in my house. And, let’s face it, when you’re running the world (or at least the one inside your orbit) the last thing you need is a pinched waistline or restrictive pant leg getting in your way. Bottom line is I live in my yoga pants. Why? Because they help me get through the day in comfort – with just the right amount of style I need to look like I have it all together.

1. Yoga pants are an obvious choice for active wear.

Let’s start with the obvious: yoga pants make great workout clothes. No one is going to challenge the idea of wearing yoga pants to the gym or out for a run. In fact the whole purpose of that soft, stretch fabric we all love is actually to wick away moisture – making them ideal activewear pants. Side note: this nifty little feature is also great on those hot, muggy days when you want to wear a cute pair of capri yoga pants without feeling gross and sweaty.

2. Yoga pants are my go-to athleisure, running errands choice.

Nobody loves dedicating a whole weekend day to errands and chores. But I promise standing in that never-ending post office line is a little easier when you’re wearing yoga pants. No need to pretend like you have any intention of working out when you definitely don’t (save for those spontaneous sun salutations you’re known for). Pair those comfy high waisted yoga leggings with a casual tunic top and slip on shoes and you’ll be more than ready for an impromptu lunch with the ladies when the desire to ditch the chores kicks in.

3. Yoga pants at the office (yes, you can).

Ok, I know what you’re thinking, “no way can I wear yoga pants to the office.” Well, think again. A pair of seamless leggings can blend in with most professional pieces in your wardrobe and give you a smoother, more flattering silhouette. Plus the full-elastic waist lies smooth and flat on your midsection so you won’t have to worry about sagging bottoms or bulging middles. The safest bet for wearing yoga pants/leggings to work though is to wear them with a longer blouse that falls past the waist. Add a tailored jacket and a pair of stylish flats or black heels and you’ll be prepped for a successful day ahead.

4. Yoga pants for a night out with friends.

I’ll admit there was a time when I would sacrifice comfort for fashion, but I am so past those years even the memory of them is fuzzy. I don’t know about you but when I find the time – and muster the energy – for a fun night out I want to be comfortable enough to enjoy myself. Of course, I want to look good too. One of my favorite “date night” outfits is my comfy high waisted yoga leggings paired with a cute camisole and a long opened cardigan with high heels or wedges. When I want something a little edgier I pair my yoga capris under a shift dress with a leather jacket and sneakers or boots. Ultimately, when it comes to dressing up, the only ‘look’ you need to pull off is confidence. And that’s a given when you feel good in what you’re wearing.

Regardless of how crazy or relaxed your life is I’m pretty sure a pair of yoga pants in your wardrobe rotation will at least make your days more enjoyable. Don’t wait. Get a pair of comfy yoga pants today and start living your best life by tomorrow.
