Legendary pink sand beaches, hushabye waves, salty breezes, a pastel palette of houses…these are the telltale signs you’ve entered Harbour Island, Bahamas. Oh, and did we mention views of turquoise ocean in every direction? Trust us on this one: you have never experienced tranquility quite like the vibe here. Grab your beach wear and come along with us as we share some of our favorite places to see, things to do and great places to eat.

TIP 1: ISLAND HOPPING

Taking to the water for a little exploration can change an ordinary day into an extraordinary one, so don’t forget a swimsuit. With 700 closely linked islands and cays, chartering a boat proves to be an excellent way to soak up the full island experience. Care to leave the captain duties to someone else? Simply take a water taxi, fast ferry or hop on an island tour.

TIP 2: ART

On Harbour Island, art is everywhere. From painters to jewelry makers and every talent in between, the island serves as an undeniable muse for every type of artist under the sun.

TIP 3: SHOPPING

If you think a secluded strip of land measuring only three miles long and barely half a mile wide couldn’t possibly provide a fabulous shopping experience, well…Harbour Island will change your mind. There you’ll find dainty boutiques, one-of-a-kind souvenirs, locally made treasures, and some of the most welcoming shopkeepers on the planet.

TIP 4: RENT A GOLF CART

Harbour Island limits the number of cars allowed, so the best way to get around really is via your own golf cart. It’s the best way to zip between some of our favorite breakfast spots, delis, ice cream treats, and shops.
