Men's 9" ShakeDry Cargo Board Shorts
Husband loves these!
My husband wore two pairs of these around for a week on a cruise that we just returned from. He didn't need to change into nice pants after swimming, either -- he looked stylish wearing his rashguard and these board shorts. His only complaint was that they didn't dry out near as quickly as the description lead him to believe. I wouldn't say they are shake-dry -- more like 30-45 minutes dry.... He loves them though!

This is such a wonderful product, I bought one in November and it did what it was suppose to .... quick dry and yes it dried quick, aside they are great for everyday use. So I went ahead and got another one.
Highly recommend it!

Great product overall. Great for swimming or wearing as shorts.

My husband loves these and wears them everywhere as his shorts. They are usually too expensive for us. I try to buy end-of-season specials.

Good all purpose shorts for swim or workouts
These are good shorts for swimming, working in the yard, or being out and about in town. The fabric is soft and pliable unlike many nylon shorts and the liner fits well. The belt is a little short and hard to buckle and the zipper seems to be finicky about locking when it is pulled up. All in all a good all around short for multiple activities.

Husband LOVES them!
My husband loved these shorts. He wears them around town and not just for swimming. After he got these, I was shopping for more shorts for him. He didn't like any of them because he kept comparing everything to this pair of shorts. I am now going to buy him 2 more pair to make him happy!
He is a size 2X and they fit him very comfortably.

Nice Short- Fits to Size
Ordered them for the hubby to swim, beach, kayak in so he could also go afterwards for errands or a casual bite to eat without having to change. Very nice looking shorts. They fit true to size- he normally wears a 38 and I bought the large 36-38, they are perfect, not too snug but not loose enough to pull off in the water. And he really likes the clasp instead of a tie since strings often come undone when they get wet. The fabric is nice and feels like it will dry quickly. After reading other reviews I'm not worried about them holding up. Going back for another pair!

Comfortable, quality swim shorts
Got these for my husband. First ordered his regular size, and had to return for next size up. He said they are the best swim wear he's ever had. For a looser fit, order a size up. The belt is adjustable, and the inner credit card pocket is very useful. Thank you Lands' End!

Shake Dry Cargo Board Shorts
The fit is true to size. Bought my husband a large and it was perfect. I initially bought the shorts for our sailing trips but he likes them so much he wears them to yoga. The pants are lightweight and dry very quickly. Perfect fo any vacation.

If you're size 34-36, these may not be for you.
Sad fact in today's world is that if you're a certain size and you want something that's made to that size, you may have to go upscale. Swimwear cut to "average" sizes don't cut it.
I weigh 180-185 (this morning my scale said 183, but who knows if it's accurate), waist measures 36 (first time I've ever measured it was for this order, and I was surprised -- I wear size 34 traditional-cut Levi's no problem), am in my 60s with moderate love handles (pinch a little more than an inch). I've been taking better care of myself lately so am likely to lose 2-3 pounds, but doubt I'm going to look like the guy in this picture. I'm 6"1", but the extra height is above my waist; inseam is 31.
So I figure ideally I'm a size 34-35 -- which Lands' End doesn't offer. A customer service rep advised to get both their sizes and return the one I don't want, by shipping at my expense, or to a Sears store. (I'm surprised that trunks are returnable, but FWIW, I showered and wore jockey shorts.) Unfortunately, I'm not happy with either of these sizes.
The 32-34 is at the absolute limit of its elastic, and a bit tight in the fanny, and grabs the front of my thigh as I raise a leg. It feels "tight" even putting it on (a subconscious feeling, although they went on without trouble). But the length is right. Not as high above the knee as on the model, but just above the knee.
The 36-38, I have to cinch the belt really tight, or the trunks hang way down, exposing my underwear. (In actual use, if the netting is loose, I'll wear a swimwear supporter.) Uncinched, they won't quite come off when diving, but it's close. And what with the extra half-inch in their length (side seam is 20.5" vs 20") and hanging lower, half my kneecap is covered. But -- except for letting my tummy hang out, all but exposing my butt crack, and covering the knee -- they feel like a proper fit: not too baggy, yet no grabbing. So I figure if Lands' End made a 34-36, this would have been a no-brainer.
Instead, it's a choice between tummy hanging out in the front, or "midriff bulge" popping out at the sides. I've no time to start shopping again, so I suppose I'll keep the larger size. Hopefully I can get away with cinching them up (the good news is that the interior "belt" goes all the way around, and slides so the buckle will be centered), and might find the ambition to fold the hem over (which will shorten them an inch).
As for design, they're great. As stated, there are 5 pockets. The two cargo pockets easily hold a bulky wallet (bottom of pocket is 2" from bottom of shorts) with Velcro-type closure. There's also a loop on the flap and a single grommet (drain hole) near the bottom -- I suppose you could fashion a peg-and-string gimmick for some extra security? As they look like shorts, I had hoped to wear these on a long hike that has a swimming hole along the way. Maybe, but they're not shorts suited to sliding down boulders, etc.. As described, they're light swimwear material, and those two belt loops in the photo are the only loops there are. Don't plan disguise them as regular shorts by adding your own belt.
So, yes, they're above average, and I'd recommend them. But only if you're precisely the size customer Land's End wants.
