Rated 4 out of 5 by Visionary1Vegas Soft - lovely style - but it does pill :(
I wear LE cashmere because it does not irritate my skin. I am allergic to most wools, and some lesser grade cashmeres. I had been purchasing the classic LE round neck cashmere for about 28 years. I loved it! It had some heft to it, never pilled, kept on going, (through dry cleaning - one should never wash a fine sweater) - and still have that 27+ year old sweater in wearable condition - it is a forest green and I refer to it as my 'sweetie sweater'. LE stopped making this classic item. When I saw the ballet neck, I was so sure it would be a great replacement for the no longer produced classic crew neck cashmere. Well - I was wrong on a few points! First, the positive, good length (I am 5'6" and like my sweaters loose for the boyfriend look. I always had to cuff my classic crews, but that made it very fun! These sleeves look funny when cuffed, you can see the seams underneath - it is not a sweater with a regular ribbed cuff or bottom. Second: quality - not up to snuff at all - when you first wear it, the lightness of the fabric is delicious (I live in a warmer climate, the SW), but, as I stated, the sleeves were too long because I up the size. The major point of 'not so good' is that it pills, and pills, and pills! I never had a LE sweater that did this before. I have been a client for about 30 years and never had to return an item! I was tempted to return it because of the fiber quality, but I loved the cobalt blue so much, I wore it under a blazer, and used a little pill-off machine to remove the bumps that formed. This was not how I envisioned caring for it and wearing it. Just a loose - great styled sweater that was poorly executed- it is not made in the USA anymore, and the quality is lost to keep your corporate costs down. Consumers do not mind paying a few extra dollars for quality. That is what LE always stood for to me, and why I always anxiously awaited my new catalogue (pre-PC days) and my late mother would also choose her sweaters and "Drifters"...she was a fussy lady, and wore classic, well-made clothing, and if it passed her test, it was good. I think she would be disappointed in what has become of LE! My parkas or squalls are no longer soft - they are like sheets of plastic - my cashmere's pill - LE listen to me - step back - 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it"! Many people do not like one season or less, throw away clothes, we want our LE lasting quality back. This ballet neck cashmere is but one example of how your cutting back in quality has affected your loyal base of customers. Bottom line - I kept the sweater - love the color - fit, if you wear it as a regular sized one, is somewhat ok - but QUALITY and PILLING are not acceptable. I gave it 4 stars because of my loyalty to LE and in hopes that it will improve and get back to basics!

Rated 5 out of 5 by tmiddle This sweater is perfect for three out of four seasons.
It's light enough for cool summer evenings and can be a layering piece for cooler months. I love the fit of this sweater, and the colors are saturated and bright. I couldn't resist the end-of-summer sale prices. What a bargain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by classsyteacher Lovely but loose
As always, the quality is wonderful. However, it is a bit loose and shapeless. I may handwash it to shrink it a bit. Otherwise, it will be a soft, loose-fitting sweater in a gorgeous color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bananabrains Amazing value!
I buy cashmere from many sources, and yet, I am always amazed at the value of Land's End cashmere, especially given the price. I ordered this sweater in the sunset coral and the purple-pink, and the colors are so vivid, the yarn is a nice thickness, requiring nothing underneath but a bra, and, the fabric is soft and durable, as I always expect from LE sweaters. You cannot go wrong with this sweater. I machine wash (front-load) my cashmere, on a gentle cycle, and lay flat to dry. I touch up with a steam iron and my LE cashmere has lasted season to season with no issues. Buy with confidence.

I have many lands end cashmere sweaters and was happy to see that this year's sweaters were up to standard. I bought three of these on sale. The colors are beautiful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by vsoeurm First time cashmere buyer
When I first came across this was when I was doing a return for a member. I felt the sweater, and it was SUPER soft, which was what initially caught my attention, and then the color. The color is very nice. It reminds me of mermaids, and summer time. After trying it on, it was surprisingly warm for something that feels and looks so lightweight. But, then again, I just get warm easily. I would definitely reccomend this sweater! It's soft, cute, the colors are vibrant, 10/10! I have to see how it does in the washer, and I will come back and give this 5 stars if it doesn't pill, or anything like that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Plewis A perfect weight sweater to be dressed up or down
The fit is just right; not too tight or oversized. The weight is a true 3 season one. I expect to get a lot of wear out of my first cashmere sweater!
