Women's Tulip-Hem Down Coat
Coat of my tall pear-shaped dreams: then, the zipper stuck.
I am 5 ft 9 in, and am in-between sizes tall 12 and tall 14. I have worn the commuter coat from its inception. I had to buy a replacement two years ago, but lost it when I moved. I tried to replace it, but Regular Large wasn't long enough. Then I saw this coat. It was beautiful, warm, and fit perfectly. The black color was iridescent: in some lights you could see a lovely bluish shimmer. The inside lining was mallard blue. It looked great with my new ivory and classic navy Infinity scarf. The sides of the hood lay across my shoulders like epaulets. My boyfriend saw me trying it on and said, "Buy it!". Just then, the zipper caught, and I found that it was made of cheap metal. Please, LE, remake this coat, Better.

The desert spice is a beautiful color; somewhat richer than in the photo. I usually wear XS in Lands' End products, and the XS fits very well. Sleeves are a good length. I like the quality of the product. This purchase is to wear for an upcoming trip, so cannot yet comment on its performance in the cold, but it feels very warm and cozy.

Puffy fit, poor quality zipper on hood
Plus side: It's a warm coat, keeps me warm for long waits outside in Canadian winter cold, especially in that length. The two sides of the zipper have some give, which helps when sitting in a car. I also love the plum color, with a bit of shimmer.
Minus side: After less than a month's use, the fur-line zipper broke... I was hoping it would last me one half winter! I now need to wear the coat without its fur trim, and it looks quite boring that way. Also, it's a bit too puffy, not very flattering; just okay for a casual, everyday look.

Love at a second try
First of all this coat is nowhere as shiny in real life as it is online, and that for me is a good thing. Initially, having read the reviews, I ordered a S Regular. It was already on sale so out of available colors I picked the purple. The color is a gorgeous rich muted purple and the fit was... meh. I am 5'7'' and about 115 lbs. I'm usually a size 4 in everything but considering I am also busty and this is for winter and layering will happen, I went with the S (6-8). It was fine in my chest but it flared awfully in my hips and the length didn't seem flattering - it hit at the mid thigh, same as the model online. The sleeves were also pretty short, which is what made me consider the Tall. I ordered the Small in Tall in green color and it is a success! The proportions and length are much more flattering. It now hits me at the knee and overall looks much more streamlined than the regular did, plus my wrists are no longer exposed if I fold my arm. The dark green color is a beauty, too. Overall, the Tall version is definitely a keeper!
If you are my height but more of a pear shape the S Regular will probably work just fine for you, but for us narrow hipped ones, Tall is the way to go.
Oh and it is wonderfully lightweight and reasonably warm!

not as picture
I was excited to get this coat in the mail just to be dissapointed about it .fit too big looks like a large garbage bag on me no shape at all.The material was too heavy. Its not shimmery at all.Nice quality but way too big because of my broad shoulders and Big breast and small on the arms too short.

It's very warm and the pockets are amazing! I love the tulip look, which I know isn't for everyone. I like that it's a bit different but so functional and cute!

I am 5'9" and 150 lbs. I usually like my clothes tight, but this coat (size M) fit perfect--not too tight so I can wear a sweater underneath, but not too big so I still look like a lady when I tie the tie. I can't believe I waited so long to get a coat that covered most of my legs. I live in a pretty cold area with lots of wind--though it's been a very mild winter compared to last year I am so grateful I have this coat. So much warmer than my last winter coat!

This lovely coat will be going back due to very tight fit- could not even get second arm into sleeve. Very impressed with the quality; loved the color, the two way zipper and the removable hood; but alas
it runs very small

Just average. Returning.
Sadly this coat was just ok, in style and in warmth. I am 5'3 and typically wear a Petite Small in Lands End sizes (I wear a size medium in a majority of other brands, so in general Lands End sizes are a bit generous). The coat looked cute in pictures and claimed to be very warm. I had high hopes that this would be a better take on the typical winter big puffy coat. I just received the coat yesterday and unfortunately it doesn't quite deliver. First of all the front of the coat ends at the high/mid thigh and bells out below the waist (under the belt) which lets in cold air. This may be partially my fault for ordering the petite size. Although technically the petite length fit, perhaps the regular length would have given me some extra warmth by covering a bit more. But I'm sure even with the longer length, the coat would still bell out at the bottom letting in cold air, so not sure how much it would have helped much. Other than that, it's just not that flattering....as the bottom half poofs out, I even up looking pregnant! As much as I wanted to like this coat, it just didn't work for me.
