This Suit Is All that Was Promised
I'm full figured and have always had good luck with Lands' End swimsuits (vs. trying on countless ones in a store). I purchased this one based, in large part, on the reviews posted by other full figured women. This suit is well-made, flattering, has comfortable straps, hides the flaws, and supports my bosom. It's also age appropriate (I'm over 60) and looks great with my multi-colored sarong (one of the reasons I chose the blue). Highly recommend!

This suit holds in the belly but is not too tight.
Love the suit. I ordered one in black and one in navy.

Color just what I expected. Fit-- almost perfect!!!!!
I am 140 lbs, 5 ft 1 inch tall, thicker through the middle--and 12P was a very good fit--It was slightly baggy in the back, but, good coverage and support. Wanted a printed one, but--only pink left--and that is not my color~

This fits beautifully.
I purchased this as an extra bathing suit, for vacation and to wear to the pool and beach. I reviewed many bathing suits, and decided on this one. I am very pleased with the quality and fit. I am 5'6 and 140 pounds. I am ample busted, I wear a 36 D. It fit extremely well, like it was made for me. It has always been hard for me to find a bathing suit that holds me in place, and doesn't make me look like I am spilling over, or just plain awful. I did not feel the leg openings were tight or too lose, they fit fine. It did not feel tight or constricting at all. The material is of a very good heavier quality and the draping is very attractive. The design is a classic, like something from the old days when ladies looked feminine and classy. I went to a wedding and later in the day we all gathered by the pool, and I did not feel like I needed to keep looking to make sure everything was in place! I was very comfortable in it. And my 8 year old daughter, and husband thought it looked stylish, and made me look slim. I purchased the black one because it is a classic color, and I am now thinking of ordering another color. Maybe the berry one. I would definitely recommend this to anyone like me who has a hard time finding the right fit. It is worth spending the money for this, as I am hoping it will last for several years.

I returned this suit for 2 reasons: 1) was too large; 2) prefer a suit that comes up higher in the back. I liked the blue color I ordered and was disappointed that it didn't fit.

Alterations were needed
I appreciated the other reviews and knew I would probably need to do some sewing on this suit. I am 5'4", 159lb, 36DD and very short waisted so I ordered the 16P. Once I shortened the straps 1 1/2", added a stronger elastic in the back half of strap where there is a seam and tacked on an additional band of firm 1" wide elastic to the existing elastic under the breasts, the suit is perfect. I appreciate the high back and the fuller hips.

I got 2 of these last year on sale. I'm so glad it was 2 and not one. The first was a solid and too tight length-wise. The second, the poppy floral, (no longer carried), fits perfectly. I am 5'4", 132 lbs, small busted, narrow hips, and I feel shapely in this. Thank you Lands' End for easy returns at Sears. For this, and all the other great customer service, I come here first to shop. It makes it easy to forgive the occasional lack of quality control when I do not have to pay for it!

Torso is very short, even for a petite person
Love the color and style but the torso on this suit is much too short. I am a petite and ordered a regular and in the appropriate size, so this should definitely not have been an issue, but it was. The result was that the suit pulled and brought the neckline down too far. My breasts looked squashed. I do not need extra sag, thank you very much. This is being returned.

Just the Facts
To me, the most helpful reviews are those that have the body type info in order for me to determine fit. So here are the details: I'm 5'3", 165 lbs, small on top with large hips. Based on my previous Land's End suit, I figured I needed a size 18, but wasn't sure if I needed the regular or women's. Because of my smaller chest (36B), I got the 18 regular. This was a good choice as the 18 women's would've been too large on top. The suit fits me well. So I hope this helps someone with a similar shape regarding size. I would say this suit is true to size.
Some have mentioned a bottom with too much material. There is a little bit extra material there, but I find it doesn't look bad and keeps the suit from riding up, which is good. It has a nice slimming effect for my tummy. I use it for water aerobics and I think it's one of the best suits I've had. I have the Liberty Blue which is a very nice color. The only negative is that it faded after about 6 uses. I rinsed it after use, but that's not enough to counteract the high chlorine levels in a public pool. But, I don't expect any suit to completely hold its color well under those high chlorine conditions. I've heard others say that washing it with soap after use helps stop fading. I'm going to try this. I also have the Grecian suit in a pattern which I don't think the fading will be as noticeable than with the solid color.
Other than the fading, which I know cannot be totally prevented, I absolutely love both the Sweetheart and Grecian slender suits. I have never had a suit that looks this good on my size 18 body.
