Women's Stadium Squall Coat
The Coat I've Been Looking For!
I'm not one to provide product reviews but this coat deserves one. It's long enough to cover my knees (I'm 5'9"), it truly is windproof, waterproof, etc. just as describes and I feel oh-so warm in it. It's exactly the coat I've been looking for for my commute to work each day, which has me waiting for a train in the bitter cold of winter. I do agree with a previous reviewer's comment about the zipper (sometime difficult to zip) and velco (exposed velco could cause fabric snags). Despite these issues, it's an excellent basic winter coat that will keep you warm and protected from the wintery weather. Isn't that what a winter coat is for?

Warmest coat ever!
This is the best winter coat I've ever worn. I'm not going to lie. It's not the most flattering or stylish, but my GOD is it warm. I've walked long distances in 5 degree temps and didn't feel cold. It's not a bulky coat and you can get away with just wearing a t-shirt under it. What I really love
about this coat is the hood. You don't need to wear a hat or ear muffs. It's sturdy and doesn't blow off your head in heavy winds. Well done Lands End!

Warm and Waterproof
This is the first winter coat I've been completely satisfied with. Completely waterproof, with tall boots I am fully covered in warmth. The heat retention is so good that I walked for a kilometre, in -28 celcius, wearing only a thin cotton shirt under, and was comfortable. With a sweater as well, I'm often too warm when walking. This is an excellent product.

Another Lands' End winner!
After at least 10 years with my Lands' End Commuter Coat, which was incredibly warm, it was time for a new coat. I wanted one that wasn't as bulky (a down coat on the subway tends to spread out, if you're lucky enough to get a seat), so I decided on the Women's Stadium Squall Coat, because winters in NYC can be horrendous...like last year, and this year.
This coat filled the bill in every way. It's phenomenally warm with no bulk on the coldest days (wind chill of minus 16), wearing just a cardigan over my shirt; the sleeves are the perfect length (my previous coat's were too long, and needed to be folded back; and the overall length is perfect...about 3 inches below my knees (I'm only 4'9"), so it keeps my legs warm. And it's designed slim overall, so it remains close to the body, but not restrictive of movement when I sit, stand or bend, even on the subway or getting into a car. And the velcro closures seal themselves once the coat is zipped up, making getting in and out quick...no snaps to fuss with.
With a pair of earmuffs and the hood up, I'm good to go in any weather without having to wear a hat and crushing my hair, and the high-zip neck is a pleasure, and looks good with a scarf around it.
Only one factor makes it less than utterly perfect. It could use 2 more inside pockets, larger ones, in the coat's bottom half. My previous down commuter coat had 2 big interior front pockets that could hold a folded scarf in one, and a hat, or a pair of gloves in the other, and not add bulk by the hips. I can live without them, but it would simply be a bit more convenient in what is otherwise a wonderful, comfortable and toasty-warm coat!

complete coverage, great for bitter weather
I needed a long coat that wasn't tight to wear outdoors while I walk my dog. It has been a very cold winter this year and my other coats left my lower body unprotected. I ordered this coat and looked forward to its delivery. It came on an especially bitter day, which put it to the test of warmth. Yes, it is warm. Windproof and waterproof too. I wear a 14w, and have plenty of space in the upper body to move my arms. Now the not so great features,: the lower body is very stiff, no back vent or anything to help movements. The zipper is hard to line up and begin zipping. The fabric is stiff and crunchy, it does not drape at all. Overall, it us very unflattering. It's a trade off: not cute but keeps me warm. I'm keeping it.

LOVE this coat, but have to return.
This is a beautiful, lightweight, and more importantly it is very warm. I think this is the first coat I've had that has a usable hood. All the others flopped right off of my head. The color is not blue, but it's a beautiful lavender. Unfortunately I am having to return it. It is way too tight in the shoulders for me. I got a medium petite and I wrote to Lands End to ask what the difference was between a medium regular and petite medium. They said the only difference was that the length of the coat, as well as the arm length were the only two things different about them. Years ago I purchased a regular large in the shorter version (love it and still do!), but after losing weight is too big on me. This time I purchased the medium petite and it's too small. I'm just sick over me not being able to keep this coat.

Just what I was looking for.
Needed something long and practical on cold to bitter days when not driving. Surprised that the product description doesn't mention the coat has adjustable cuff closures and an interior waist cincher, which for me are indispensable features for keeping wind from whooshing up your sleeves or up from the bottom of the coat. Turned it inside out as per the washing instructions - I'm assuming for the Velcro closures and washed well. Love the fleece lined hood and the high closure at the neck - which I agree is most comfortable with a scarf but I wouldn't want to lose that feature even though it is a bit stiff. Great to have a wind and rain proof very warm long coat for days when I have to walk somewhere in dreadful weather. Re. sizing - I am tall and thin and always order smalls for all Lands End clothing and size 6 for pants. But I checked my coats from Lands End and all are Mediums (10-12), so I was hoping that whatever fit tests I had done before still applied. I ordered the Medium and it's perfect. I still want the option to put on big bulky sweaters or several layers of clothing under my coat in the fall or winter - a small would have been too snug. The Scandinavian Blue certainly reads purple to me, but it's a great purple and a cheery color without being too harsh in tone for the Fall-Winter-Early Spring. I'm tall and was very pleased that since this isn't offered in Tall that the sleeves were a generous length and so was the coat.

Great Warm, Windproof Coat
Today is the first day I'm wearing this coat. It's a windy, cold day here in Toronto and this coat is most definitely windproof and warm. It fits really well, the hood is large enough to slide up and over the hat I was wearing today and the length is great (with my tall boots only about and inch of leg would be exposed, I'm 5'8"). My only two complaints would be 1) the length of the arms for me is a little short, especially the interior rib-knit cuff - it is about 2 inches shorter than the outer cuff and 2) the placement of the pockets seems a little odd. Overall I am liking this coat very much.

too big & velcro tabs
Was excited to receive a warm, synthetic coat. But was way too big and bulky. I ordered a Small and I'm size 3, 5' 5". Arms were a bit short for me too but i have longer arms, so not surprising. Lastly, there were velcro tabs from the neck all the way down and on the cuffs. Velcro snags everything and its all over the coat, so it's giing back. Lots of features i did like but the fit and velcro issue make it unusable for me. If a snap versus velcro version comes out and one thats less bulky, I'll def try it

Ideal for Winter
I needed something long, warm, waterproof, and windproof. This coat has saved me this winter (this brutal winter in NYC!). Can't recommend it enough. I wish the fleece lining went past the waist, but honestly it's super warm, comfortable, breathable, and great for a tough winter.
