Women's Stadium Squall Coat
Bring back the previous design
I just bought what was going to be my third Squall Stadium coat, after a ten+ year love affair with this warm and usefully designed coat. It came, I tried it on, and my heart sank. The lower sleeves are so tight that it's hard to get it on over a winter sweater or fleece pullover, and then once on it's uncomfortable on the lower arms. Also, the handwarmer pockets are so low that I can't walk with my hands in them (so what's the point?). It kills me to return this because there is nothing else out there that comes close, but with two strikes against it, I'm going to try to soldier through another winter in my old one and hope that the next design is more like the previous one.

This coat kept me warm and dry.
I liked the coat and it certainly kept me warm during this terrible New England winter. Unfortunately the zipper was very troublesome. It kept getting caught and I was very frustrated with it and returned it.

No cold winter woes with this coat - best purchase ever
This winter was miserable in NYC - snow, temperatures constantly in the 20s or below, wind - and I was so grateful that I had bought this coat in September. My hands, toes, head or nose might have been cold, but never my core or arms. It is terrifically wind-resistant - wind is really what makes me feel cold, and I felt great in this coat - it really is just about waterproof, and has a warm fleece lining, with supersoft microfleece lining the zippered pockets. It has great details like the small key pocket up toward the left shoulder that you don't see right away, a nice internal drawcord, and the larger flap pockets that snap closed. The hood can stay on or detach, and the 2-way zipper makes it easier to run for the bus when you unzip a little from the bottom of the coat! The arms were a little long, but I have short arms and that is frequently an issue with clothing, so it's fine and the velcro on the sleeves helps with that. I have it in blackberry, which I don't think is an available color any more, but I got a lot of positive comments on the color, too. It runs slightly large but not ridiculously so, so you will have room to wear layers underneath or a chunky sweater.

Best coat EVER
This is my second winter with this coat and I LOVE it. I wear it to work everyday and I have never been cold in it. And that is saying something because I get cold very easily and live in a snowy winter climate. I have worn it in minus 25 celsius and remain warm everywhere the coat covers. It has lovely fleece lining and the hood is great too. Allows me to walk without a hat so I don't have to live with hat head all day. I can fit earmuffs under the hood as well when needed. It is windproof (especially important as I live on the coast by the ocean) and waterproof (also important in this climate). Only negative I can think of is the pockets are oddly positioned and a bit tight to put anything in. We have had a hard winter but I have stayed warm because of this great coat. Now if I could only find gloves as good I would be all set.

I purchased this coat as gift for my daughter. Before I ordered i made sure it was the right size after looking at size chart. I ordered an XS. She got the coat and was so excited to wear it. It was a cold day. She noticed the sleeves were short on her. She commutes by bus and metro. As she's walking the coat begins to bunch up in the front. When she told me I immediately ordered another in a small instead. Same thing happened. I felt so bad for her. She is returning both. Honestly I never have a problem with anything I've ordered in the past. Please dont waste your hard earned money. LANDS END what happen.?????

This coat allowed me to survive Snowmageddon. Boston 2015
I bought this coat in December 2014. It should tell you something that I am logging in to review it end of February 2015. We have had record snow and cold this winter. The kind where public transportation shuts down and work gets cancelled. So many snow days the kids will be in school forever. Multiple days where morning temperatures were below zero. I had to drive and park in an open air parking lot and walk to the office. This coat saved my winter. I was completely warm in every area covered by the coat. Completely comfortable. I used the hood so i wouldn't have hat hair, I was just fine. My previous coat would not have worked. I will agree with other reviewers that the pockets are oddly positioned too far back. But otherwise just perfect when you really, really need some warmth!

The Coat I've Been Looking For!
I'm not one to provide product reviews but this coat deserves one. It's long enough to cover my knees (I'm 5'9"), it truly is windproof, waterproof, etc. just as describes and I feel oh-so warm in it. It's exactly the coat I've been looking for for my commute to work each day, which has me waiting for a train in the bitter cold of winter. I do agree with a previous reviewer's comment about the zipper (sometime difficult to zip) and velco (exposed velco could cause fabric snags). Despite these issues, it's an excellent basic winter coat that will keep you warm and protected from the wintery weather. Isn't that what a winter coat is for?

Warmest coat ever!
This is the best winter coat I've ever worn. I'm not going to lie. It's not the most flattering or stylish, but my GOD is it warm. I've walked long distances in 5 degree temps and didn't feel cold. It's not a bulky coat and you can get away with just wearing a t-shirt under it. What I really love
about this coat is the hood. You don't need to wear a hat or ear muffs. It's sturdy and doesn't blow off your head in heavy winds. Well done Lands End!

Warm and Waterproof
This is the first winter coat I've been completely satisfied with. Completely waterproof, with tall boots I am fully covered in warmth. The heat retention is so good that I walked for a kilometre, in -28 celcius, wearing only a thin cotton shirt under, and was comfortable. With a sweater as well, I'm often too warm when walking. This is an excellent product.

Another Lands' End winner!
After at least 10 years with my Lands' End Commuter Coat, which was incredibly warm, it was time for a new coat. I wanted one that wasn't as bulky (a down coat on the subway tends to spread out, if you're lucky enough to get a seat), so I decided on the Women's Stadium Squall Coat, because winters in NYC can be horrendous...like last year, and this year.
This coat filled the bill in every way. It's phenomenally warm with no bulk on the coldest days (wind chill of minus 16), wearing just a cardigan over my shirt; the sleeves are the perfect length (my previous coat's were too long, and needed to be folded back; and the overall length is perfect...about 3 inches below my knees (I'm only 4'9"), so it keeps my legs warm. And it's designed slim overall, so it remains close to the body, but not restrictive of movement when I sit, stand or bend, even on the subway or getting into a car. And the velcro closures seal themselves once the coat is zipped up, making getting in and out quick...no snaps to fuss with.
With a pair of earmuffs and the hood up, I'm good to go in any weather without having to wear a hat and crushing my hair, and the high-zip neck is a pleasure, and looks good with a scarf around it.
Only one factor makes it less than utterly perfect. It could use 2 more inside pockets, larger ones, in the coat's bottom half. My previous down commuter coat had 2 big interior front pockets that could hold a folded scarf in one, and a hat, or a pair of gloves in the other, and not add bulk by the hips. I can live without them, but it would simply be a bit more convenient in what is otherwise a wonderful, comfortable and toasty-warm coat!
