Women's Stadium Squall Coat
Wish I could keep it
Realized I need to live in a much colder climate for this coat. Too bad because it looks like it would be toasty. It just doesn't make sense for my No. Calif climate. Does run big. I would order a size down, unless you plan to wear something bulky under it. Doesn't have any shape, but it's not supposed to.

Warmth during East Coast Winters
I only buy serious outerwear from LE because I know I will keep warm. This squall coat can go from pretty dressy to sorta casual. I bought the deep purple. The fabric is smooth and the pockets don't stick out. I am 5' 3" and the petite size is just at my knee. It zips open at the bottom for ease in movement. Sleeves are below wrist. Nice shaping on the inside while the outer layer skims over the body. Plenty of room for the girls. Very pleased with this purchase.

Still a winter winner, but it's a shame about the pocket and zipper redesign.
I bought this same coat several years ago and loved it. Perfect for windy, wet, football Fridays and Saturdays in the northeast. I lost some weight and needed a smaller coat so I was excited to see the color options. (Love the blackberry.) The newest December 2013 version is still a winner, but I don't like some of the changes. The new side-seam pockets are too far back for true ease of use and I have to search for them. I do love the fleece lined pockets. They feel great against my hands. The TINY, outer, zip pocket at the top is not very practical. I guess you can throw your keys, or a credit card in it. I REALLY liked the old upper zip pocket that I could access at the storm flap WITHOUT unzipping the coat. Made for a WARMER and EASIER experience. (The new one is inside the main coat zipper and not as handy.) I also miss the 2, count 'em 2, left side, inner pockets which are completely gone. I could be equiped with snacks, wallet, lip balm, phone and even a water bottle in my old coat. With all the new bag restrictions at stadiums, it was a perfect choice to wear.
The new inner cuffs make for a warm sleeve, but it's a little tight getting my hands through, especially with gloves. I also liked the old snaps (instead of velcro) to keep lower portion of the coat closed at the sides. Gave versatility without snagging as much. Lastly, you changed the zipper and it starts too low. The velcro (or better yet, bring back the snaps) keeps it shut for the really cold weather and then I don't have to hike up the coat to zip it each time.
With all that said, I'm keeping my new coat. It's the best option available, but I sure miss some of the details of the old one.
Petite Sm gives plenty of sweater room for my 5'2, 125#, 36-27-32 frame.

Perfect Coat for Cold Weather
The fit is good.
Side pockets are located too far back to easily stick my gloves into them. I like the pockets that go over the side pockets and use them constantly. The interior pocket is perfect for a wallet and cell phone, and I wouldn't mind having more interior pockets.
In previous reviews, I saw a complaint about the lower pieces of velcro. I don't want to take the velcro off the coat in case I want the extra warmth for the knees when sitting/standing. This problem can be solved by buying matching velcro and cutting it to fit over the offending pieces.
This is the 2nd season I've had this coat. Last year, I decided it was too warm above 30 F. It worked perfectly during windy college football games late in the fall. I bought the coat because I need to walk the dog 3 times a day, due to apartment living. When the temps this season sank to -20F/real feel -45F, I layered (old tech), wearing another jacket underneath this coat and 2 layers of clothing underneath that. I was dressed so warmly that when the sun came out, I was pushing the hood off my head and unzipping this coat. In the shade, the 4 layers were just about right.
I can't recommend this coat highly enough to anyone living in an extremely cold, windy environment!

Very happy with this purchase. Made of sturdy fabric for outside playing with my dogs. Quite warm...requires sweater, etc. underneath for really cold days, but insulates well. Love the length, pockets, and hood....very water proof. I purchased another coat from Lands End in the same exact size, but this one is larger, so I would say that it runs a bit large. It looks fine, but if it were my "going out" coat I would definitely have exchanged it for a smaller size. The "blackberry" is a gorgeous color. I always go with basic black but am glad that I went with a livelier color for dreary winter days. Highly recommend.

This seems like the perfect coat for the worst winters. The length is perfect to keep my thighs warm and dry from sleet and biting cold wind. Overall, the coat doesn't take up much bulk but it is warmer than my other full length, puffy down coat. The fact that it's water-proof is perfect for winter, in my opinion. It's well made, has zipper side pockets and extra snap pockets. The only thing that could make it better if is the insulatied lining could be removed so it could transition to a rain coat during the spring. A girl can dream.

Sturdy and nicely made!
My new Squall Stadium Parka arrived today (1-2-14.) Today's high was 9 above with snow showers, so I had a perfect opportunity to put the Squall through its paces.
I ordered the Blackberry color. I would have preferred black, but it was not available in my size. I like the color--a rich eggplant--a nice departure from my usual black and gray winter color palette. The fit is trim but not tight (although I would have appreciated a little more room where the sleeves meet the body of the coat.) The double zipper is sturdy and looks like it will last a long time. It works smoothly--no struggling to zip or unzip. No catching in the fabric of the parka. i like the coverage in the chin and neck area when the parka is zipped up all the way. Very snug!
The pockets are placed a *bit * awkwardly, but there are a plethora of them, and they will hold my mittens, phone and other necessities securely. The front pockets snap, and the side seam pockets zip; the zipper action is smooth and secure.
This parka is warm and not bulky! Walking home from my neighbor's house with my dog, who was dressed for the cold in a LE cashmere sweater, no less!-- I had to remind myself that I was actually wearing a winter coat; this parka is so warm and lightweight. A keeper! Bring on the polar vortex!

changes to squall coat
I the past I have ordered the squall coat in blue, brown and raspberry. The fit was excellent. The new coat that I ordered was not made the same way. It was too small and had to be reordered. I miss the inside pockets and the change in the outer pocket placement. The only advantage to the new coat is that there are cuffs inside each sleeve.
