Women's Stadium Squall Coat
Warm, Strong, many good features
the only thing I don't like so far is the velcro tabs on the flap. they automatically fasten and get in the way of fastening the zipper and unfastening it. so I bought some velcro and cut the tabs to length and covered each one and now, I can always go back to using them, but there is no impediment when I don't need them!
tough outer shell, windproof, very comfy and warm with great and many pockets and hood!

Love this coat! It's perfect for walking to class across the frozen tundra that our campus becomes in winter. Plus my students and TAs gave me lots of compliments on how stylish I looked in it. Bring on the polar vortex!

Scandinavian Blue IS PURPLE!!!
It's always a guessing game when ordering colors online. I wish Lands End offered warm colors--like teal, hunter green. Otherwise, THIS COAT IS GREAT. I have been wearing an older version for years on my daily walks. The new version has nicer "princess seaming" that is better for women. The polartec lining in the coat and hood is really comfortable and durable. Almost all the pockets have a cozy lining. The removable hood now has discreet snaps at the collar to keep the hood snug or you can release the snaps for the hood to lie flatter (while driving). The sleek outside breast pocket is almost invisible with just the zipper pull showing. The upper side vertical pockets (in the princess seaming) now have zippers to keep contents secure. An inside vertical pocket with zipper is deep enough for your phone &/or compact camera. The lower outside pockets still have side opening (now with cozy lining) but now have snaps on the flaps instead of the velcro (snaps are harder to open and close--hmmm).
My older coat still looks good after daily wear, many washings but the zipper is becoming problematic.
The new coat came with helpful instructions for the two-way zipper that can be tricky for newbies. The zipper works great but is not metal, although the plastic is now gray which looks like metal. Overall, good job Lands End!

Just in time!
Thought I was buying this coat early, but days after I got it, the November Arctic Freeze hit! It keeps me toasty. And so much lighter than the cloth coat it's replacing! I love the fitted flannel at the wrist which keeps cold from going up the sleeve. And it goes high enough with a flannel neck to cover the lower part of my face. Scarf not needed. The hood has a string so you can pull it fitted around your face, so no need for a hat. I wanted a full-length coat, but couldn't find one. But this is longer than it looks on the model, which is great. I wear a plus-size and it is a perfect fit. I picked the wine color which is a nice neutral but distinguishes me from all the black down coats everyone else wears. I also like that it's not quilted like most coats and has a flap that covers the snaps. Again, a little different.
Two downsides only. I sometimes have trouble lining up the double zipper. I find it helps to sit down while zippering it. Or I just snap it up. Also, don't like the side pockets. They open up to the inside which makes me fear that I'll loose my gloves when I stuff them in. A pocket which gives you access to your pants makes sense for a man who needs to get to his wallet, but not for a woman. I'm now using the front pockets. Still, I recommend this coat. I plan to have it get me through many frigid Michigan winters.

Disappointed with this coat.
My usual size is between a 14 and 16. Purchased this coat in an XL. It was very difficult to get into, and uncomfortably tight across the shoulders. Found it very difficult to move in the coat, especially driving. Coat made me feel like the proverbially overdressed little kid with his arms straight out from the shoulders! Coat was as warm as advertised, but so uncomfortable I wore it exactly once. Only had a cotton turtleneck shirt, jeans and drifter sweater on under it. So many layers of clothing were not the cause.

This coat fits the way I would expect.
I was looking for a longer coat for walking my dog in the winter months. So far it's fine, haven't really had the cold weather yet. The fit is good, snug but not too much. I like the the draw string at the waist to make it more fitted. Pocket are nice a deep to carry your phone and other stuff. The Velcro's are a little annoying, they stick to your gloves. The zipper is a little sticky at the bottom, takes a minute to get it engaged. Overall for the price I consider it a good purchase.

Can't wait for cold weather!
This coat is definitely a keeper for me. It fit perfectly, not a lot of shape or high fashion but I mainly bought it to be warm while waiting for the kids' bus and walking to work a few blocks from the parking garage. I read several reviews and decided to try it; one review mentioned the pockets were in strange places and I would agree with that observation. The side pockets are too far back on the side and the front pockets are too straight up and down that I have to put my wrists at a weird angle to put my hands in them. Overall, I will love this coat and hope to keep it for many, many years.

I needed to replace my Stadium Squall Coat because the two I have are now too large because I lost a great deal of weight. The new styling of the hood was uncomfortable. The old hood was attached and was a continuous piece of fabric. The pockets were not in as comfortable position as the old style. I also found the body of the coat to be sit narrower than the older style.

Might be my winter salvation
I thought I'd give this coat a try as it was on sale. Temperatures here in MI have already dropped in to the single digits, but I haven't been outside much to really test this coat yet. However, I have faith that LE has always been pretty on target with their warmth ratings.
The waterproof and windproof features drew me in as I sometimes take public transportation. If I'm dressed properly, I can hop a bus in any weather that Mother Nature throws our way.
I'm a huge fan of down as the insulation to beat here in The Mitten. I hope the 300 weight fleece combined with the windproof shell will serve me as well--or better--than my shorter down parkas.
I deducted one sailboat in the rating because 1) the arms appear to be a little short in length [in cold weather, I'd rather have the sleeves a tad long than a tad short], and 2) when I'm zipped up I sometimes feel like I'm wearing a hoop skirt because the flare from waistline to the hips to the hem seems too drastic [with my stride as its longest, I still have a lot of room left over within the hem circumference]
I'm 5'6" / 140# and the medium fits me.

Not the Squall of years past
I am hoping Lands End considers an update to an awesome design! Please Please Please bring back the 2 hand warmer pockets. They are perfect when you are waiting for the train or can't be fussing with gloves. The other pocket design lets more cold air into the pocket and makes hands cold. Also...this is a woman's coat. Please add storm flap and arm cuff closures which will not get caught in scarves. It is cold...winter and velcro is a disaster with pretty scarves!
