Women's Squall Parka
Perfect with pants and cold weather
Nice warm parka with plenty of pockets. Fits well and is a lovely dark purple. I especially like that it can zip up high to block wind from getting in at the neck.

beware of velcro!
Great coat except for the velcro on the front flap. I understand that velcro is more expedient than snaps, but it keeps snagging my winter sweaters. Please consider using snaps instead! Then, the coat would be perfect.

Love the color and the fit
Always a bit skeptical about ordering clothing online but was very happy with the way this coat fits. A nice surprise was all the pockets. Bought it in wild cherry and love the color. Also leery about the fleece lining causing friction with sweaters but has not been an issue. Would buy this again as it has kept me warm during our sub-zero winter.

Love this jacket
I purchased this jacket to ward off bitterly cold temps and windchill. My mother has the insulated squall and I borrowed it to dig out after a blizzard and on an extremely cold morning when I took her car in for servicing. This convinced me to look at the squall parka. The coat is warm but not heavy. A winter sweater fits nicely underneath without bunching. The front pockets have snap buttons but can be left open for gloves and keys. As many have remarked, the side lined pockets (behind the front snap pockets) feel too low to put your hands in from the side however there are side pockets further up the jacket for warming in addition to the front pockets. The jacket zips up high, removing the need for a scarf if doing errands around town. My only wish is that the jacket was a little longer to fit just above the knees. I purchased the women's squall parka in the regular versus petite line and it fits nicely. The teal color is very flattering. I love this toasty, windproof jacket. Highly recommend.

Sleeves way too short and weird pockets
Quality is great and I loved this coat but had to send it back. Definitely warm and what I was looking for in this brutal Northern Michigan winter. The sleeves are too short and the pockets are in funky places..

A really well made ugly box
This squall feels warm enough for hopping in and out of the car during errands, but I think insulated might be better for spending time outdoors. (I might be being a harsh judge because of the extreme extended cold in Wisconsin this year.)
The wild cherry color is not your typical cool red found in women's clothing, but the garish neon-like red found in men's clothing. It reminds me too much of hunter blaze orange. My computer monitor misled me.
It is the shape of a cardboard box, all square, all over, no curves or shaping.
Do not size up for sweaters! There is plenty of room for heavy layers when ordering your regular size. The tall offers enough arm length and body length.
I love everything else about this coat. The pocket placement, the drawstrings, the seams. Lands' End has thought of every convenience and made a really solid coat.
I ordered this coat because my husband loves his squall so much. I figured the women's version would be similar. It just turned out too similar. The cut and color are very masculine, and with only moderate warmth, I can't justify the frumpy look. I'm exchanging it.

This parka has perfect warmth and length
I LOVE this parka and had spent a lot of time looking at different options and brands before purchasing this one. It fits perfectly and I love the length of it compared to a lot of shorter length coats and parkas.

I bought this to walk the dog, and this winter was a great test. I've been very happy with this coat. It is long enough to cover my bottom, lightweight but very warm. The hood has come in very handy as well on windy and rainy days. The lower pockets are VERY low, which makes them less useful, but the upper pockets make up for that. The hand warmers are handy and my gloves fit right over them.

I recently moved to Indiana and the winters here are suppose to be relatively mild, but not this year. I've been told by Hoosiers that this winter has been the worst IN has seen in over 25 years. I had a wool coat from Land's End that I purchased years ago and it wore out, so I needed a new one. I really wanted another wool coat with a hood, but LE did not offer one, so I decided to try this parka in a Med Petite and it's perfect! The parka is warm, lots of pockets, a full coverage, detachable hood and true to size. Also I love the upper pockets because it's a convenient place to put your hands. The only thing I do not like is the double zipper (upper and lower) because sometimes it's hard catching the zipper.

A very well-made coat
This is a great coat with lots of well-thought-out details. Lots of pockets! Removable hood with snaps that hide away when the hood isn't in use. Inside pockets - every woman's coat needs these! Nice inside knit cuffs to keep the wind out. A great length. Soft, feel-good lining that warms. Sleeves that slide over inside layers. I ordered the red color and it's very attractive.
Many, many features and high quality detailing.
My one and only con is that this coat feels a bit bulky.
