Women's Squall Parka
Warm & Comfy Parka
The fit is good, exactly as I expected. I am a size 16 and I chose to get the XL. I probably could have ordered the L, but the XL gives me a little extra room for wearing bulky sweaters or sweatshirts. And I don't feel restricted in movement around the waist like I do with most jackets.
I didn?t see a temperature rating online, so I was a bit concerned about its warmth during a snow storm? but I?ve worn it on several 25-30F degree days here in Philly and its kept me toasty warm.
I personally love the sleeve length and wrist cuffs. My fingers are free while the base of my wrist and thumb are wrapped in the lining. This helps keep them warm while I'm starting up/driving my car first thing in the morning (I take gloves off when I drive).
The hood is large, but it allows for the added bulk of a hat and scarf, so again, it works for me. There is a velcro attachment on the hood which when used can make it a bit snugger.
The inside mesh pocket & the cleverly hidden inside pocket are both roomier than expected!
Lastly... I love the reflective trim. I always look for slimming details in outerwear... and the angles of the trim are very flattering, in my opinion. They were the reason I chose this version over the other Squall Parka.

15 yr old loved it! Wanted a coat with finger hold. Hard to find in adult coats.

Very pleased! My last Land's End Squall coat is still in good shape after 12 years! This parka fits perfectly. I'm 120 lbs., 5'8" and ordered a small-regular. Usually I have a problem with sleeve length with "regular", but not with this one. I love the color, Forest Green, reflector stripes, thumb holes, and it hits below the thickest part of the thigh and covers the rear. Nice and warm!

Good fit & quality
For several years now, I haven't been able to buy a new coat, because they only seem to make them tight through the shoulders & upper back but way too big through the hips. This looked like my old Squall parka, which had finally died, so I gave it a shot, fully expecting to have to send it back. Instead, I got an excellent replacement for my old coat - with anti-reflective piping! I love this coat - it's very comfortable, and keeps me warm and dry.

The fit was way off
I was very disappointed and was really looking forward receiving this jacket. I first ordered an Xl in this jacket and it was extremely "huge" and the fit was boxy. Then I ordered the Large, and that fit like a medium....

Narrow at hips so only for skinny people
This is a well made parka, but unfortunately, the cut is designed for skinny people -even though I ordered a medium. I weigh 134lbs and if I need to sit or lean over in the parka, it is too tight. I will be returning it to a different parka. One additional comment: I could not close the top of the parka if I wore a wooly scarf.

I really like this parka. It's warm and feels durable. I had bought my daughter's the kids version and loved it so much I wanted one for myself. The fit is good and I like the variety of pockets. I spilled water on it and it rolled right off so perfect for the snow and rain. The only reason I didn't give it four stars was the Velcro tabs that go down the front. Not a big deal but a little annoying.

needs some modifications
This jacket was too long on me and didn't have a 2 way zipper, so it would not have been practical for getting in and out of the car, etc. I returned the item. The color was nice and the construction seemed good at first glance.

can be improved
SIZE: my weight being 117 lbs, my height 5.47 ft , an S is fine and lets room for a thick sweater.
CONS: most of all, the one-way zipper: being the length a generous 3 inches under my bottom (which is lovely and warm), a two-way is indispensable.
A bungee hood adjustement would help.
The velcro patches collect fibres and my cat's hair all the way. Please replace with press buttons.
The outer fabric is kind of stiff and noisy: a bit unpleasant, but it seems a good insulator from water, cold and wind (the "warmer" rating is correct, this parka is not as toasty as the down ones, unfortunately - I pity those poor geese and would love to find a warm, compassionate, alternative).
PROS: the thumb wrist cuffs are great, can replace gloves (being a birdwatcher, I need my fingers free for binoculars and cameras). When you don't need them, you can simply wear the cuffs the usual way.
The outer pockets and the inside mesh pocket are generous and well placed.
The reflective profiles are nice and add a personal detail; useful in the dark season.
COLOUR, not as expected. The blue navy in the picture looks greyish, which I liked. The actual colour is a deep blue: not bad, but exactly like our local police uniforms :-/
I'll send the parka back, hoping to find the green with a two way zipper next year.

If you're looking for a cute jacket this is not it but if you're looking for something functional this is it. Its a good jacket for temp 35-50 degrees, love that its waterproof-don't need to lug heavy umbrella. Love the hand cuffs-helps keep you're hands warm-don't need to carry gloves. It is boxy coat-it would have been nice to get the elastic waist on the outside so it can give you some shape. Other than that its good jacket. Also, love the Red color but I wish the grey fleece would also be red.
