Women's Sport Squall Jacket
This is a great jacket for fall. It keeps you warm and blocks the wind. I also enjoy the fact that it does NOT have a hood and that it has a straight bottom (not the normal stretchy bottom).

It is nice to finally get a jacket in plus sizes that is worth wearing!! I LOVE it. However, for those customers who are truly plus sized a 5X translates to a 30/32 for me. I always order a size up to fit bulky sweatshirts/sweaters and turtlenecks. Usually I am a 26/28 and order their 4X options which fit perfectly,

Good plus size jacket for outdoor activities
I am somewhere between a size 3x and 4x. I was looking for a jacket that I could wear snowshoeing and on winter hikes. I ordered several different styles from Lands End and was pleasantly surprised with this one. It is lightweight enough so I feel like I can move around but feels like it will be warm. I tend to be on the cold side so I also ordered the Power Stretch Fleece jacket to wear as my mid layer (the 3x Power Stretch fits perfectly under the 4x Squall). This combo seems like it will be very warm and the fleece lining of the Squall jacket slips easily over the smooth material of the Power Stretch Fleece jacket.
I think the jacket will be very functional, but I do wish there were a couple more pockets, either on the inside or outside, and a hood. I ordered it in black, ivory and red. The black looked very boxy and mannish, probably because of my already large size. The ivory is pretty but has an odd yellow tint to it. The red is great, colorful and fun but not too bright.
I know everyone is shaped differently so fit is going to be a very personal thing. My waist, bust and shoulder area is on the 3x end and my hips and butt are more like a 4x or even a 5x. I found the 4x jacket fit perfectly in the hips and is a bit large in the bust and shoulder area, but not obnoxiously large. I am 5'4" tall and the jacket fell to my lower hip. The sleeves are very short, which was odd considering everything is normally too long for me. With my arms at my side, the end of the sleeve hit right at my wrist. When I stretch my arms in front of me, the sleeves ride up a few inches. This bothered me at first but the sleeves on the Power Stretch Fleece jacket are really long, so it should cover the gap.

I love the color and the fit
Our Midwestern winters are cold and I would not recommend this jacket for any extended outdoor activities, however this jacket is perfect for those briefer trips between the house the car and the car and the store

Love it would recommend it!
The jacket is just what I remember from 20 years ago, with an update. The woman's fit is a nice change and I like the drawstrings on the bottom to help keep out the cold. It is lightweight and warm for those cold morning walks. The fit is a little big but it allows for a sweater or sweatshirt to fit comfortably underneath. The Velcro sleeves are easy to use and adjust quickly for your gloves. I won't likely use the MP3 player pouch but like that idea and the headphone loop at the top. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Just what I always expect from Land's End!

Getting this at 25% is a real deal! The fabric stops wind and sheds water. The fleece lining makes it warm enough for most winter days. The length is convenient for getting the seat belt buckled. The winter white color goes with every thing.

They're not making them like they used too.
My last few winter jackets have been from LE and I've really liked them. This one however seems much more cheaply made and doesn't fit as well. The arm holes and across the shoulders is tight and I'm not big through the shoulders. I've noticed that a lot of things that I've ordered from LE have changed in size and how well they're made. I've returned many of their products this year due to lack of value for price. I used to be able to depend of LE for good quality, not so much anymore.

Too roomy, no petite size
I am a big fan of Lands End but this jacket was a bit of a dissapointment. First of all they do not offer it in petite sizes and I usually need a small petite. I liked the way it looked though so I ordered a small regular. When it arrived, not only was if far too roomy in the chest area but the sleeves were far too long. Adjusting the wrist tabs a little tighter simple pushed the excess material up the arms and made me look like the Michelin Man. The quality is excellent but the sizing is not. If you are a small petite size, bypass this jacket and go for the hooded squall instead. The hood can be removed if you don't want it and they offer it in petite sizes.

Jacket fits very well and the color is a great navy!
I really like the fit. There is room for a sweater or light weight sweatshirt underneath. I would have liked it a couple of inches longer only because many sweaters seem to be longer these days. It's not quite as warm as my VERY old squall, but I still love it!
