The full name for the fabric is “ponté di roma.” It’s a double knit with just the right body for dresses and skirts that work year-round — by themselves when it’s warm, layered when it’s not. This sheath style follows your curves without ever feeling tight. And the princess seams and diagonal pockets make it slimming, indeed. 67% rayon/28% nylon/5% spandex. Machine wash. Imported.

Perfect dress! This dress is perfect for work or special occasions, it is tailored beautifully, it travels well (wrinkles a bit in a suitcase but improves on a hanger), and best of all, it has pockets! May 5, 2013
Lovely dress, love the body shape. I am usually a size 8 and this dress fit just right on the hips and waist, but was a bit tight at the chest. One size up was too lose then. So I kept the size 8 because it was perfect for work in a warm day. May 3, 2013

Modern styling and pretty, but... As much as I loved the styling and fabric of this dress, it just didn't work for me. Admittedly I'm a bit curvy, but this dress was way too fitted. I have numerous items, including several dresses, from Lands' End so I think I've got their sizing down fairly well. I ordered my usual size and could barely get this dress on. So, if you like a very trim and fitted dress, this is the one for you. Otherwise, give it a pass. May 2, 2013
Love it! Awesome fitting dress! Am a curvy 36 DD and normally have a rough time with this kind of neckline, but this is tailored in all the right ways. Great fabric. The pockets are a fun little detail, I will wear this dress all year. I do wish they would hurry up and restock all sizes and colors so I can order more!!! May 1, 2013
lovely dress I bought navy and black in my regular size and LOVE the fit and length and style. The ponte fabric is soft and holds its shape wonderfully all day. Not a flimsy or thin fabric and classy looking as well. The pockets are placed on side front and don't make the middle look bigger. I will not use pockets but they add to the shaping of the dress. I loved the 2 ordered so much that I had to have the light blue as well, was only able to get it in Petite (my size) and am keeping it. It is a little shorter than the knee and the other 2 dresses but the fit and fabric still look perfect. Winner of a dress! Would love to see more dresses in this material, maybe a V neck with elbow sleeves but the same cut across body. April 30, 2013

Pretty but emphasized flaws The dress is pretty and well made, however, if you have a tummy (as I do) then the thick seam down the front will greatly emphasize that area. Also, the size is quite big. I'm 5'2", 148 lbs (yikes) and the medium fit fine which means that LandsEnd is sizing their desses quite generously. But I do recommmend it for anyone with a flat tummy and longer torso as a nice dress that goes from work to play very easily. April 30, 2013
