Women's Silk Pointelle Pants
I do not like the new waistband
I ordered my usual size ( medium) but because of the new waistband there was insufficient room in the back of the garment and I had to return it in exchange for a large size. That just about fits me. I have not yet laundered the pants so I do not know how the waistband will be after being washed. I can see no reason for the original lovely waistband to be changed. It was deep enough to sit straight. It was one of the really good points of the pants. The jury is still out on the new ones. I will certainly be in contact if I have trouble after laundering. I have been buying & wearing Lands' End silk pointelle pants size medium for over 10 years, so I am by no means new to them.

I love these! I can wear more form fitting pants/jeans and still have wonderful warmth under them as these add no bulk, only warmth!

Bulky waistband feels like a diaper under pants
I wanted to love these pants. I ordered one pair of these, and one pair of the silk interlock pants. Petite XS fit perfectly, the low waist was great, the wide waistband meant no pinching ... but wait: the elastic in the waist is so heavy and thick, it feels extremely uncomfortable when layered under anything else. I put these on under my loose, soft pajama pants and felt like I was wearing a diaper, it was so bulky. I'm surprised that Lands End didn't choose a lighter weight knit wide elastic. There are many types of wide elastic available, and the elastic in these pants is a totally inappropriate choice with the weight of the silk. Had it not been for the waistband, I would have kept these. Alas, they were sent back. I'm hoping Lands End comes out with an improved version next year.

Feels lovely on skin
... and really help to keep warm. These are particularly comfortable under jeans because denim glides easily over the silk bottoms unlike thermal gear which makes pulling jeans up a hassell. Another plus, unlike typical poly-mix, thermal undergear these do not create excessive warmth. . Yes, unlike typical thermal undergear you can wear these around the house and look dressed. Another plus, is that lint including pet fur will not stick to them. However, if one has dry hands or un-manicured nails, dry feet or un-pedicured feet, while dressing your fingers and toes will get stuck in the fabric, creating "pulls/runs".
I wish [I could] make these last more than a season but after numerous pills and runs they look terrible. Another weird negative is that the elastic waistband on bottoms twists when washed in washer even on gentle cycle and the stitching on wasitband eventually gives out. For my work, I'm outside a lot and I have a dog , so living w/Boston's tough winters, undergear is important (even under Gortex ski pants).

I am disappointed with these. The silk is thinner than the old ones I had, which were also from Land's End, and even though I ordered a SMALL, the waistband is too large and does not hug my waist.

Love great fit! - Pls. redesign waistband
I love the bulk free warmth of silk and have purchased many silk pointelle and silk interlock tops and bottoms over the years. I am 5'3, 106 lbs, size Petite Extra Small. I purchased the Blush Silk Pointelle pant and matching scoopneck in P XS last month. At first I thought that the pants were too short but upon calling Land's End, I was informed that they were designed to fit below the waist to go under pants with that design. My older pants sit at the waist and I appreciate having a pair like these. They fit so perfectly without any bagginess of the prior models that I can wear them under leggings! There is one thing I would like Land's End to improve however and it is to provide elasticized stitching all around the wide waist band to keep it from "rolling and folding" like other customers described. It is a challenge to rearrange the garter back to a "flat" position after laundering. The prior year models I purchased where stitched all around at the top, middle and bottom of the waist band - a total of 4 full elasticized stitching around the entire waist. I would give this pant a 5 if the waist band were improved. Also, I would like to have the option to purchase an improved "below the waist" pant AS WELL as the older "at the waist." pant which I enjoy sleeping in. Please include more detailed descriptions particularly when a style change occurs such as "sits below waist." Since we are moving into wish list time, I would like to request that LE find a special silk that is snag resistant. Thank you Land's End!

Fit is Perfect
I was concerned about sizing when I read other reviews. This garment is exactly what I was looking for. The wide waistband is a little bothersome because I had to smooth it out to keep it from bunching. I'm 5'7" and about 140 lbs. Long enough and very comfortable. Love them!!!!

Fits big which is fine for some uses
I purchased these to wear under my slacks when the temperature is in the 30s or below and they are quite useful for this purpose. There is no friction between them and the pants so they don't cause discomfort in walking or sitting (they don't pull on the knees as some long undergarments do). Some have complained about the wide waste but that "works for me" because pinching elastic would be annoying when one already has a lot of clothing on (i.e. in cold weather).

I actually sleep in these!
They are smooth and silky and hold up well despite many washings.
