Women's Short Sleeve Washable Wool Dress
high quality dress for every occasion.
I read all the reviews and wasn't sure what size to order. Im 5,5" 120lbs 36C athletic build. I bought size 8 which fit nicely. The sleeves where a little poofy looking, but opening the button at the sleeves made all the difference. The dress is lined and the workmanship is outstanding.

Classic LBD, but. . . .
I really like this dress. I am 5'9 and 170 lbs, and the dress was lovely on me in a size 14. I already wore it to a very fancy event dressed up with classic jewelry, snazzy heels and bag. However, the 4-hole brownish buttons stitched with brown thread on the sleeves of this classic LBD were such an awful mis-match that I had to remove them and substitute stylish and simple black buttons invisibly attached from the underside of the button. What a difference button detail makes! I cannot understand why Lands End would make a classic little black dress with such ugly buttons!
I would give it 5 stars except for the nuisance and labor involved in the button business!

Needs accessories. Good basic wardrobe staple
Wore this with tall black boots a colorful scarf and cardigan to a business meeting. Was comfortable and get appropriately dressed.

Good quality but tight fit
I got what I figured would be a roomy fit -- size 10, when I am normally a size 8 -- but the top area is snug (yes, I am busty not overweight, and a size 10 should have been more than big enough). The sleeves are tight as well. The material is nice.
The side zipper is somewhat problematic because of the fit.
If you are very slim, the dress is probably great. If you are busty and have well-developed biceps? not so much.

I think I'm going to keep this dress. I'm not 100% sure yet. First of all, everything I've ever ordered from Lands End in womens' fits a little big. I can usually get away with that if I'm buying a shirt, but pants and dresses can be problematic. I am very peitite, 5'2" and about 100 lbs. I have an "average" torso, not short or long. Based on past experience, I ordered this dress in a size 00.
This dress is very simple, but I like simple. It fits well at the top and sleeves. It's a little big in the hips and bottom but not so much that it's an automatic send-back. The bottom does go "out" a little wider than it needs to and I have a fairly large behind in relation to my petite stature. The bottom doesn't exactly "flare", but it's a little wider than it needs to be. This dress is a little shorter on me than it is on the model in the picture. I would prefer it to be a tad longer, but again, it's not a deal-breaker. I think a red sash and/or some red pumps would do a lot to dress this up and make it more sophisticated and less plain-looking.
For reference on the sizing: In most brands, I wear a size 2 petite, on rare occasions, I'll wear a size 4 petite. Pants from Lands End in Size 2 swallowed me up; they seemed closer to a size 6. These brands in size 2 petite pants fit me well: Talbots, Ralph Lauren and Gap. Jones New York size 2 petite pants fit pretty well, but are a little loose in the waist and slightly tight in the thigh and behind. J. Jill size 2 petite pants fit a little large. Talbots and Banana Republic size 2 petite dresses fit me perfectly.

I did not like the fit.
The fit and fabric did not feel right. I returned it.

The wool fabric was nice and the style was sophisticated.
This dress would be ideal for a younger person. I found its fit very large. This dress would be appropricate for office wear and with some jewelry could be dressed up for a night out.

I really wanted to love this dress...
I love the simplicity. I thought it would be really cute with a pair of nice boots and bright scarf. Unfortunately, I looked way too much like a nun. It looked matronly on me. Maybe if the sleeves were capped, it would have looked cuter...

Looked like a sack dress
I was excited about this dress but it did absolutely nothing for me. I got the black and it looked like a uniform, way too plain and not flattering. I guess it was a bit big which, if I liked the style I would try a smaller size but it doesn't seem worth it to me. Returning it.

Not what I expected but...
Tis dress was not what I expected. The fabric feels more like polyester than wool. It is also a bit short for my 5' 5.5" frame. I decided to kep it and wear it with tights. Classic design.
