Women's Short Chalet Boots
from Texas to Minnesota : BUY THESE BOOTS!
I live in Texas, so I was only looking for something that was moderately warm, easy to wear with skinny jeans, and would last thro' several months of winter each year.
These were perfect.
I then went to Minnesota for a week and took these boots along.
I tramped thro' deep snow in sub-zero temps and my feet stayed warm and dry the entire time! I never felt vulnerable walking on ice. And when I was ready to leave, I wiped them down with a slightly damp cloth (after giving them a coating of suede protector when I first received them), and they look as good as new. For the record, I have the chocolate brown; don't know if some of the lighter colors might stain more.
Of course, these are NOT snow boots; if you live in temps like MN, you'll need something more official as well. But these look cute and really do hold up amazingly.
I also find them very comfortable, and I have picky feet. I am a 9 1/2, sometimes 10; ordered these in 9 1/2 and they were just right, with enough room for a pair of socks.
Thank you, Lands End.

I have to say putting on and off is not easy. It is not walking boots for me, not that comfy. I do like the style and it is very warm. I am happy for the price.

Perfect Walking Boot
I normally wear a 7 shoe but always order a 7 1/2 boot. My foot is neither skinny nor wide but I followed the reviews and ordered the wide. It's a perfect fit. So comfortable and warm without being hot, you can wear it all day. My artic gray boot looks great with slacks or jeans and more comfortable than flats. Too bad spring is right around the corner!

Wide size has a narrow toe box
Fit: Granted, the boot's style is not square-toed, but I thought ordering wide would allow enough room in the toe box area. My previous pair of similarly styled Lands End chalet boots (purchased maybe 4 years ago) were a bit snug at first. Then they stretched out and I wore them all day, nearly every weekday late fall through late winter for three years. I was hoping these would be the same. This pair was definitely uncomfortable after my first commute (about 35 minutes+ of walking) and could not be worn all day. After about 4 months they have stretched a bit, but are still too tight in the toes. I can wear them all day but prefer not to for the sake of my feet and comfort - my toes definitely feel it on the outsides of my big toe and pinky toe if I wear them all day.
Other: The shape of the boot is flattering. During the NYC cold winter this year they were not overly warm and I slid around on ice a few times which surprised me because the sole's bottom has a lot of texture.
Bottom Line: They are good quality for the price, have a nice look you could wear with tights and a casual skirt, or jeans/pants. As far as fit, I would recommend them if you have average or narrow feet, or if you do have wider feet, the width is needed in the instep area. Anything from the ball of the foot forward is like a regular fit.

The fit is perfect!
I have two pair of boots I bought last year from Land's End in black and gray. Although the style is different I bought the Chalet Boots in brown. They are comfortable and look great. I like them enough that I am thinking of buying another pair.

I bought in black and light toffee because I couldn't decide which I liked best. I like them so much I ended up keeping them both. I ordered in my typical LE size 8W and found the fit to be very comfortable. I will say that the black pair fits a bit more snugly than the light toffee. I only wear regular weight socks, so can't attest to the fit with heavy socks, but they are plenty warm enough for running errands and short walks with the dog in these subzero temperatures. The little bit of heel was a selling point for this short girl, too.

This boot is not sized correctly
I have a wide foot and after reading the reviews that the sizing was off I did order a larger size. The boot is so stylish I was hoping it would fit. I couldn't even get my foot into the wide width. If you have a medium width or slightly wider foot and/or want a little extra room for thick socks the wide width is for you but if you have a wide foot it is not. I am so disappointed because the boot is really cute.

Good fit and warm
These are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever owned. When I tried them on, they fit and felt good. However, after wearing them for several hours, my feet hurt really bad. They have no support for the ball of the foot. They are warm , true to size and very attractive.

I love these boots. I got grey earlier this winter and now that they are on sale I am back to buy black and brown. I have a wide calf so it is hard for me to find tall boots that will fit my let. These are tallish but short enough they fit my leg. Quality is great, the sole does have a bit of a heel but I can spend a whole day in them shopping and my feet feel great.

Boots run small
I ordered the gray boots in my usual size 10 with the reg width that I always buy. Remember these boots pull on and have no way of opening the side or back. I have a fused left ankle and could not get the left one on. My ankle bends very little. The right one went on with great force but was too tight all over. I have reordered an 11 in wide and have not yet received it so I do not know if it will do. I thought I would warn anyone who is buying these in the meantime that if you have foot or ankle problems you might want to order a size larger. But definitely order the wide size if you normally buy reg width. The ladies who have narrow feet might like to try these in regular as they really do look narrow.
