Women's Schoolboy Jacket
dont buy if you work out your arms
The arms (biceps area) is very small. I would not buy if you workout or have bigger upper arms. Otherwise the fabric and style are nice. This went back.

nice quality and color but fits small and one collar lapel was pressed wrong
This is a nice quality jacket. However, it arrived with a badly wrinkled/smashed lapel. This looks bad. I think I will have to have the jacket dry cleaned to fix it. This is annoying.

ITCHY & SCRATCHY
Even though lined, the collar & cuffs are very itchy. Also sleeves are tight.

A little boxy
This jacket fits a bit boxy, but otherwise the quality is great. If you are looking for more a of square-cut jacket, this is the fit for you!

Not flattering on me.
This was my first attempt at buying a wool jacket to hip length. Honestly, I didn't find this jacket flattering. I guess two button jackets really on work for those who are larger breasted. I am only an A. The two-buttons made it so the jacket flopped between too wide at shoulders to too wide at hips depending on how the fabric pulled on the mere two buttons. Just didn't like the edging or styling at all. I am returning.

Unfortunately for me the lack of shape in the torso was disappointing. I am not really thin, but the midsection seemed sized for a size 14 jacket vs. a 10. If the price had been halved (and a 25% coupon available) I might have just kept it to knock around in as the fabric weight was just what I was looking for. Returned it. Why not make a Classic wool blazer with some decent weight, Land's End?

This blazer is MUCH better than the schoolboy jacket LE sold a few years ago (tried and returned 2 different sizes). I chose the navy in size 6 and it fits very well, true to size. It's a shorter length so it works with work bottoms and jeans. The fabric is soft and forgiving of wrinkles. I am giving it a 4 because the ribbon trim could be been sewn a little neater and because the buttons are already falling off after 2 wearings so I will have to sew them back on.

Boxy though well made
I am 5'10" and fairly thick- and short-waisted. I purchased this in L. It fit, but I found this to be a very short, thick, boxy jacket that wasn't flattering on my body type at all. It was, however, well made, and perhaps there are body types for which this would be flattering (as it was the previous reviewer's).

I am 5'7" and weigh 140 pounds. The Regular size 10 fits perfectly and allows room for any type of top I might wear underneath, even vests or non-bulky sweaters. The 8 would probably fit well, too, but I wanted a roomier jacket for the long haul. The princess seams are always flattering to any woman's body. My arms are long and these sleeves are plenty long, something I don't always find in blazers. The collar and placket fit and lie smoothly, as they should on a good quality jacket. The gray is a good medium gray, not too light, distinctly not black, so contrasts well with my work wardrobe pieces. The fabric is a light-to-medium weight wool, not bulky, looks very durable. The workmanship is good. I love the grosgrain trim around the collar and placket and pockets...it's subtle but adds just that little something extra that makes the jacket nicer. The lining is gray and fully sewn in. Sleeves are fully lined as well with a gray/white narrow striped fabric. The jacket just *feels good* when I put it on. I plan to wear it mostly at work with business to business-casual clothes but it would look great with jeans, too.
