Women's Polartec Aircore 200 Parka
Mostly good news about this parka
OK, we'll talk about the good news first.... the fabric is LUSH and lovely. Very warm and snuggly. This winter (July) has been VERY cold here in Victoria, Australia, (remember... the seasons are opposite, and the farther south you go, the colder it gets!) and the parka has kept me happy, warm and toasty. I love the richness of the color and the "hand" of the fabric. The ONLY bad news (for me) was that the pockets are lined in a harsh, cheap fabric, not the same Polartec as the rest of the parka. This means that (a) your hands won't be warm in the pockets, (b) the inside of the jacket looks cheap and (c) the cheap grey fabric doesn't match the rest of the parka. Is it nitpicking? Possibly, but this is not the FULL quality that we all know and love about Lands End! Heads up, gang! Pay attention! Fix the pocket problem and the parka will be WONDERFUL! I'm an American living in Australia, and I need my Lands End fix regularly!

This was purchased as a gift for a friend who was moving from the Virgin Islands to Alaska. She is so happy with this product and wears it to work as it can be dressy as well as casual.

Tall size needs to be longer waisted
Loved this. Am 5'10" so I purchased this in tall. Nice sleeve length. Nice overall length, but for me, the waist was 2" too high.

Love This Parka
My only complaint is that LE needs to bring back the mallard color. I pretty much wear this fleece Fall thru Spring with the exception of a few sub-zero days. I love the fit and purchased the gray and burgundy. I'm 5'8" and glad I ordered the Tall; the regular length drawstring ran up too high on my waist. The fabric is a medium weight fleece that has not pilled after two years of use.

Perfect for me
I love the parka. It's soft and light enough to keep me warm in the spring and autumn seasons. It will probably be handy for those unpredictable breezy nights in the summer too.

The color is vibrant, and the coat fits perfectly.

Needs lining in the sleeves.
Love the color and quality, unfortunately, without lining in the sleeves it is almost impossible to get it on and off. Might work for thin armed people.

Love this jacket!
I bought this jacket to wear on our Alaskan Cruise in 2008 and wore it again just today. It is lightweight and warm. It washes and dries without wrinkling or shrinking.

Like it, have two...but...
I would have given this five stars except for one problem. I like everything about this parka...except for one thing. I have it in black, and it has really messed up my other clothing by shedding black fuzz all over anything I wore under it, especially cotton shirts. I mean really bad. I took it on a trip, laid it on the bed, and it got fuzz all over the white sheet on the bed; without any rubbing or scraping, just laid it there. I had to go through a lot of effort to get fuzz/lint off the sheet, and didn't do a very good job at that. I washed it twice, dried on low with fabric softener to lessen any static. That helped, but it still sheds. I have the light blue color also, and I don't notice any fuzz shedding on that one. Maybe it is just the lighter color or maybe I got a lemon with the black one. Other than that, I really like it, especially the two-way zipper.

Lightweight for the changing seasons
Great jacket for spring and fall in the north when it's too warm for down, but too cool for just a sweater. Very lightweight, drawstring flatters your shape, pockets great for tissues, keys, etc. Good for running errands, even for work on casual days. Easy care, washes well.
