Women's Plus Size PolarThin Insulator Coat
I think i would have liked it but it is huge! The other coat i ordered the same day fit great. I went online to order a smaller size and surprise there are none left.

Perfect for winter cold, but not for rain
I wore this for 3 months, December-to-end of February in Sweden and Iceland. I wear XL-1X but bought the 2X for extra room (for sweaters, etc.) and had plenty of room without the coat being ridiculously baggy, since it's somewhat fitted. A few things stand out for me with this coat. One, it was the perfect choice for Sweden in the winter. It kept me toasty warm when everyone else was cold. I am 5'8"; it came to just above my knee, a good length, not too long, but covering my posterior, which is crucial when the temperature is below 0 F or -5 or -6 or more C. It was the perfect style; everyone was wearing a version of this coat, in black, with the same kind of stitching, so I fit in. I used a compression bag to store it in in my luggage, and it packs very small and thin, not bulky at all. However, it is best for cold and snow, but dismal when it's raining, because it provided absolutely no protection against downpours. I was soaked after a day of photography in the "outback" of Iceland, very uncomfortable. The coat did dry very fast in the hotel room that night though, and then when I got home I washed it for the first time in cold water and hung it up to air-dry, and it looks like new. All in all, I highly recommend this coat for winter if you need it for warmth, but not for rain protection. The hood is too large, of course; all hoods nowadays seem to be made too large, don't know what's up with that, but I just fold it back, and that works all right most of the time.

This coat is attractive, but that is the only good quality about it. First of all, it has no business being rated "warmest." I don't wear it unless the temperature is higher than about 30 degrees. Secondly, the outside pockets are too small. Little more than a glove can fit in either pocket. Also, the general size of the coat is a little more "fitted" than most other styles. Lastly, the zipper is very unpredictable. I don't know why, by I've found that the zippers on Lands End coats are consistently poor quality. I frequently have to try to zip the coat at least 4 or 5 times before it's successful. Though I didn't return this coat, it isn't at all what I expected it to be.

Really nice coat
Flattering fit for a lager size, not boxy like a lot of other plus size coats.Nice blue color.
A bit cold in the upperarms, but wearing it with my LE plaid-alpaca-oversize-scarf it keeps me warm even in -20C.
Fabric gets noisy and stiff by -10C so i rate it only 4 boats but all in all a really nice coat.
No zipper problems.

I got caught in a downpour while running from my car to the bus station. Although it was about a 10 seconds run,. I got soaked through to the skin, especially my arms and under arms. Very unpleasant experience, especially because it was quite cold outside and my hands, shoulders and upper back were completely wet.

The fit was great, but the color was misrepresented.
The fit was perfect- SP, but the color red in the picture is darker than the actual color, which is a bright red. The other problem is the noise it makes when you move. I'm sending this coat back.

Convenient and comfortable, but boxy and not ultimately flattering
I really like the look of this coat on the model. I think perhaps it was clipped at the back for the photo, however, because I find the fit quite boxy. I liked it well enough to keep it, however. Even with an XS (5'6", 125 lbs) it is too large in girth in chest, waist, and hips. I do find this is a problem I have with almost all Lands' End clothes, however. I love that they provide plus size for women who are larger girth, and hope that someday perhaps they can provide 'slim' size for women who are a little more diminutive in girth although of average height. I know I'm not the only person who has been frustrated by the girth of the clothing.

Over a year now...
...and I still love this coat. Slimming & warm without the bulk. Fits nicely with a sweater underneath. Quality expected of Lands' End.

Practical coat, runs large, though.
I bought this in size small and it was like a box. The quality is very nice but the fit is unflattering unless you plan to wear many layers. I returned it and later bought a polarthin parka in xs and it was much better. I think this runs a whole size larger if you don't plan to bundle up.

Good coat, but could be warmer and less noisy
A really lightweight alternative of a down coat, but unfortunately not as warm as a down coat.
I do not agree with the T range indicated in the item description. I would say, it will be comfortable in this coat when it is not colder than -6/-10C outside (-21/-23F).
The material is waterproof, but too NOISY in frost! It sounds really cheap and as if you are wearing a plastig bag instead of a coat!
If the frost is not too big, it is not noisy and quite warm.
- fleece lining in body part
- fleece cuffs
- deep hood, fleece lined (keeps warmth all right)
- lightweight (3 lbs)
- fleece lining in pockets
- quite big inside pocket
- not as warm as it could be
- noisy in the frost
- too shallow outside pockets
- 2 way zipper
- nylon lining in sleeves (arms get cold faster than the body)
My Russian size is 44 (5'7", 132 lbs) and I took size S regular. The sleeves and length are all right, but it is quite roomy in the waist (it is better to wear it with an elastic belt, espesially in frosty weather - the belt keep swarmth very well). I think I should have taken size XS.
