Women's Plus Size Elbow Length Bell Sleeve Drapey Ponté V-neck Dress
Very Good - please offer in regular sizes as well
The medium weight of the fabric works year round. I love the length and would like to see many more LE dresses offered in a 47-48" length. The style is suitable for the office and for church. It was a bit too low at the necklline but I pinned a scarf across the front of my bra which provided a bit of contrast.

This is your sweet spot, LE. Stay in it! This dress is comfy and flattering. Slap on a scarf and you can wear from workday to night out. Yes, you may want to wear a spanx-type product to optimize your look. Not a big deal at all! (My unmentionables are not painful, just helpful.)

Not for the lumpy
The material of this dress is pretty flimsy so that every lump and bump showed even in a size that was not the least bit tight. It was quite unflattering. I sent it back.

Recommended BUT ...
I really wanted to love this dress. Loved the material, the fit, the styling, the length. Fit perfectly. BUT the neck is far too low and so wide apart at the bottom of the "V" that it cannot very easily be sewed up a little bit. Reluctantly I have sent it back. Due to the quite low neck it would be best for evening wear. Also, please remember, some of us have radiation scars. I ordered it in the Smokey Plum, which was nice ... hoped Lands End would have a Smoky Plum camisole to wear underneath, but no such luck.

Not flattering at all
When I tried this on, my husband thought it was a nightgown. The fabric is dowdy and saggy, and the fit is not flattering. I'll be sending it back.

flattering and comfortable (at the same time!)
I got this in pine (a lovely dark rich green; I have a pair of chinos in pine too) in a 14w-p. I had never tried this size (I usually wear a regular 14 or 16) and was a little nervous, but it turned out to be a nice, relaxed, flattering fit, though I suspect it's meant to be more fitted at and above the empire waistline (a very nice touch, BTW). I have lost count of all the compliments I received when I was wearing this dress, even though I've only worn it twice (I just got it a little under 2 weeks ago)!
The flared sleeves were the chief reason I ended up ordering this dress rather than one of the other knit styles (there are so many great ones, I had a hard time narrowing it down to a reasonable number). I enjoyed flared and bell sleeves when they were popular in the mid-'90s, and when it became impossible to find them, I was very disappointed. I still have a couple of tops from that period; they still look great even though they're a tad snugger. :) Regardless of whether it's a current fashion or not, the flared sleeves and other features of this dress are great-looking and can be relied upon not to seem silly a few months from now. I've always approved of how the designers at Lands' End don't let themselves become enslaved to fashion, but combine classic styles with fashions that are practical and flattering (and avoid the ones that look awful on most people or are just ridiculous).
The sleeves on this dress are really better described as flared than bell-shaped. Bell sleeves abruptly curve into a convex bell shape near the end of the sleeve, while these have only a very subtle curve and as far as I can tell it's strictly concave, and there's definitely no distinctly rounded "bell" at the end.) I think they would be even more elegant and appealing if they were lengthened to 3/4. The ponté fabric is rather thick (though not heavy), but I have found this dress works fine even when summer is giving us its worst. I am considering getting another dress in this style; if you make a fall/winter version with 3/4 (or even long) sleeves I have a hunch that I will be getting at least one more. :) I would also love to see some true bell sleeves.

I got the pine green. This dress fit me perfectly in my usual size. The fabric flows nicely down from the high waistband hiding everything below. Thank you Lands' End for some longer dresses for plus-size women!

The fit was more or less OK, but the fabric was polyester purgatory. I ordered this in two colors, and am sending it back.

Great Petite Women's Dress - A Little Long, Though
This is a really nice dress, esp. on sale! I ordered the black and wore it for the first time to dinner and a ballet last night. It is very flattering on a not-so-slender figure. It's so nice to be able to find larger sizes in petite. It might fit a little on the big side. The shoulders fit& the empire waistline falls in the right place. I like the low v-neckline, and you can dress it up or not. The fabric is just right - not thin but not heavy; it falls nicely and doesn't cling or show every bump. I wish they had the green in my size - I would order it. I have not washed it yet, but I expect that will turn out well - I have some other Lands End clothes in this fabric. My only complaint is that it's a little long for a petite; I am 5'2", and it could use taking up about 2". Still, all in all a very nice dress, and I'm sure I'll wear it a lot. I would give it 4.5 "ships" but I rounded up to 5.
