Women's Plus Size Diamond Down Parka
Love this coat
I bought the longer version a few yearsago and jumped at the chance to pick this one up on sale. The fit is flattering because even though it is a parka style it cinches at the waist. The best thing about this coat though is it's warmth which has been key during this difficult winter where temps are routinely dipping down to -20 and -30C. With a polartec shell underneath I can outlast the dog in the cold. I also love that the hood provides an extra layer of coverage for my head.
My sister ordered the jacket in pink when she saw mine because she liked it so much.

Very Warm and Very Cute!
I was worried about some of the reviews about the feathers poping out, but have only seen one feather so far. The coat is much warmer than the coat I had, the fit is accurate. Very comfortable, warm yet feels light, not bulky. I love the pink color.

I LOVE this coat!
When I read some of the reviews about feathers popping out, I was somewhat reluctant to order this coat, but the sale price was so great I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I have worn it several times now and have yet to see any feathers. This is such a wonderful, well made coat that I will enjoy for many years to come. I love the fleece insets in the cuff and around the collar. Very nice touch.

Bought this for cold northeast football games and couldn't rave enough about it. With a Lands end polar tech shirt underneath I was toasty warm in 20 degree windy weather. Fit is good. I am a 2X and it is true to size ands what's more roomy enough to zip it and snap it closed. The length is just about to the thighs. Tried to get one like it for my husband. In the men's department with no luck so I ordered one for him in the dark amethyst. Amazing jacket for the price. Oh, and I agree about the belt...useless and too long but the jacket looks fine without it. Also thanks for the info about the detachable hood.

I am in love with this coat!!! Thank you Lands End
Seriously I cried when I tried on the ivory, it was just so cute and adorable, the fit was amazing. I love everything about this coat. I bought online and had the ivory and the pink begonia arrive last night both in 2x which I first went to the stores that had plus sizes to try on as many outerwear in 1x and 2x to make sure I would order what i needed with the sale last week. I would have kept the pink but the ivory was a much better color for my mousy brown minx hair and medium complexion im not dark skin but im not fair year round either I get very tan in the sun. I m 5 ft 7 without shoes. I normally wear 22 pants or xxl stretch pants or yoga pants. I carry most of my weight in my belly in fact I look 9 months preggers most of the time. I wear xl or xxl tops either one fits fine. i have broad shoulders but not overly broad. I love everything about this coat, from the fabric its soft and seems sturdy, didnt see any feathers popping out and since I love clothes I typically launder them specially. I have no plans to throw this in a hot or warm machine nor dry in a hot dryer either. I will most likely spot stain spray it and wash in cold and air dry. I think that will keep its condition like new and will most likely avoid the feather issue. the hood is removable by snaps unlike this years version in a very similar coat(this years back side looks more slimming than this but its also 5 times the price) and in this coat you can also zip off the fur from the hood for a furless hood. the hood cinches up with a tie on both sides. the pockets are sooooo cozy and soft soft comfy fleece inside there is a hidden pocket accesible by velco, but that hidden pocket is tiny, maybe for change? the inside pocket inside the breast area is about the size for a mans wallet or smart phone?? its a two way zip, didnt seem to have any issues with this. about the belt, well there is NO WAY im using it. I plan to trim the belt loops off or store the belt either tied in the back to cinch in for cuteness. this coat is a good fit, seems very warm. havent tried it its not cold here yet. but for an amazing price I wanted the ivory shimmer down and if I were not so fat I could have and would have bought that one at the higher price but they didnt even carry it online or any stores in denver area in plus sizes so I settled for this one and my purse and bank account thank you!!! OMG I love this coat. thank eta-I bought a coat last year 3x and hated it so much all year. it was such a human hair and pet hair collector, absolutely hated it. it was warm but the threads came undone and the fit was bad, too big. Im so happy I spent 3 weeks researching and shopping online and in lands end trying to get one I would love and did that on the first order. will definitely come back and tell all my friends and family. thank you so so much

I have purchased my coats from Lands End for the past 25 years, and never have been dissatisfied. This one is no exception. This is a nice everyday parka. I purchased it in black. I do not wear the belt.

Mostly a great coat, but...
I got this coat towards the end of the season last year. The pluses: it's plenty warm, the fabric has a very nice texture, and the fit is perfect. It's also a really nice color. The minuses: just as others have said - the down sheds a LOT, the belt is really not great (and is noisy if not actually buckled), and the hood is huge. So if you're buying it for a warm, well-fitting coat - great. If you're looking for the coat's "accessories" to be the main benefit, I'd say look for a different one.

Really beautiful coat with minor problems
My coat took long to arrive because it was being held by customs here (Brazil). I contacted the customer service via email and the reply was fast and efficient. I was offered a replacement or a refund, but I chose to wait because I had the feeling it was on its (long...) way.
And it arrived today. And it was love at first sight! Really well styled with attention to details, as I can see in all garments I bought from Land's End.
I haven't had the time yet to check about feathers poking out or any problems with wind or rain, but I suppose it'll stand its ground facing the Southern Brazilian winter.
However, I can pinpoint two problems:
1. I chose the size based on a parka I bought 2 years ago, which is S/P 6-8 and fits me perfectly, even with layers of warm garments . This coat doesn't so well - and I lost several kilos since then. I tried it with a bulky pullover and it was not comfortable. It should be bigger in bust and arms - and maybe a little around neck.
2. I agree with another customer who complained about the size of the hood. My head is quite big an still the hood covers my eyes.
Otherwise... what a beautiful and elegant parka! I wish there were half little boats to rate, 5 wouldn't be honest from my part but 4 don't do justice.

I love the coat but hate the hood
After buying very nice hooded Lands End coats for years, I have yet to understand why they make the hoods so deep. I have a large head, yet these hoods extend five to six inches beyond my forehead and fall over my eyes and nose? I live in Alaska so I understand the concept of and necessity for a good warm hood on a coat. Even when the adjustible cord to pull the hood snug is used, the hood comes over my eyes blocking all vision... I consider this a serious design flaw, however I will be purchasing two more coats while they are on sale. I sew but can not figure out a way to alter these hoods???

Not up to the Lands' End Down Standards
Having worn many Lands' End down jackets over the years I expected this to be as advertised - it wasn't. It is lightweight - so lightweight that winds blow through it. I think the shell material is the problem. It doesn't shed water, just gets sloppy wet, even when it's just a light mist outside. It clearly doesn't block wind and it doesn't block the feathers from popping out everywhere. Luckily I purchased it on clearance & now I understand why there were so many of them on the rack. This jacket need makeover - badly.
