Women's Paisley Holiday Party Dress
Very BRIGHT orange
I bought this dress in-store and so I had the advantage of knowing that it is a very bright orange and not the subtle colors you see in the picture. That aside, it really is cute. I wore it to a summer wedding. Because the colors are so vivid, it really doesn't scream "holiday dress" to me. It's definitely more appropriate for spring and early summer.

What looks like a beautiful autumn color palette in the photo online would best be described as highlighter orange in person. I was so excited for a great dress for work but it would be more appropriate for a geriatric customer in Miami. So disappointing. After this experience and reading other reviews, I'm starting to doubt the quality of Lands End and the fidelity of online photos to the actual products.

Perfect for a South Florida Christmas
I bought this dress and another similar aubergine dress for a Christmas party here in South Florida. For my body, this dress is the perfect fit--narrow hips and shoulders. Hourglass girls may want to pass on this dress. I am 5'4", the hem hits right at the knee. The fabric and colors are lush, beautiful, and very bright. There is nothing cheap about this 100% silk fabric. For a party, I don't recommend toning this dress down by covering it up. Neutral accessories, shoes and stockings/hose will do the trick. A full matching slip is included. It may be a little cumbersome to put on and take off with the slip snapped in. I'm a fan of the hidden side zipper, but this might be a tough one if you can't reach it.
The only minus I could think of here is I don't remember if the the description stated the leather belt on the model is included (?) I like it with or without a belt, so no worries.

I love orange, but not this orange. The color is too bright which makes the dress look cheap. The fit and style are good.
I love orange, but not this orange. It is too bright which makes the dress look cheap. It is great that it comes with a separate slip, the fit and style are good. I am a size 2 and the 2 fit. I returned it because I knew I would never wear it. The color is just too bright, not as pictured.

Beautiful party dress
I bought the dress, although I had some doubts about the bright colour some reviewer mentioned here. I definitely loved it! I wear size 2 and my hips and bust are almost of the same size. The dress fits just a little bit wide in hips, little tough in chest, but it's not small. The colour is radiant, indeed, but it's a party dress isn't it? :) I plan to wear it for a friday night. The only thing that wasnt perfect is the little underdress attached to it from inside, it's made of thick synthetics. The overall thing would look better if it was thinner. Without the underdress, however, the silk dress is too transparent.

Bright and Beautiful Color, Some Disassembly Required
I got this dress to wear to an autumn wedding as a guest, and I love it. The color is, yes, very very bright. It's a saturated almost neon orange, and I might call it a rather young color. But I think it's a great color for people with warm skin or hair tones. I tone it down with a navy blue wrap or blazer.
That said, the fit when the dress arrived was strange for me. I generally wear a 10 sometimes 12, and got this in a 10. When I size up, it's usually to accommodate my hips, but my hips fit fine here while the top was small. I have broad swimmer shoulders and a small bust, but the front button was straining something fierce at the bust and the dress was tight in the back. I think it had something to do with how the sleeves were constructed or attached to the body, but I loved the dress so much that I wanted to make it work.
So I chopped off the sleeves and made them into a belt.
The dress is capsleeved now, and I love it even more. It also tones down the color somewhat, since you aren't wearing a wall of straight bright orange. The fit problems up top are gone, and it overall fits much better. The belt is removable, so I can of course choose to use it or not or to use a completely separate belt as in the model picture. I generally choose not.
Overall, this dress after those alterations has been fantastic and is definitely a new wardrobe favorite!

For the right proportions
This dress is beautiful, but ultimately I had to return it. It fits true to size, except the chest area. Another reviewer said, "this dress is designed for a pre-pubescent girl", I didn't believe it, but believe it :( I'm a size 6, C cup, which I feel is about average and although I could button it, it looked ridiculous.

Great dress, ridiculous color
This dress, in my usual Canvas size 6, fits perfectly. The fabric is soft and substantial and held its own in the wrinkle wars. But, good lord, that color. It is, as other reviewers have said, not the rusty, autumnal orange in the photo. Rather, it is a bright, Palm Springs in the 60's orange. That said, I decided to keep it. I wore it to work this week, with a denim jacket to help temper the color. It would be cute with a navy or green cardigan or V-neck as well.

Color is awful!
Although this dress is quite beautiful, the silk, the slip, the fit, the color is horrendous. It is more like neon apricot than a lovely autumn pumpkin, which is what it looks like onscreen. The paisely print is quite nice as well, but the main color is so off from what is displayed on the the website that this dress had to go back after purchasing. I was really quite disappointed because I did really love the dress. Ah, but for the color, so I can only give it a one boat rating.
