Women's Outrigger Jacket
Why Don't You Have Petites??
I got an Outrigger jacket on sale intending to use it as a wet-weather chore coat but it soon became a favorite. The mesh keeps me dry so I don't get that clammy feeling I get in other raincoats, the fabric is soft, the pockets are great, the hood is just the right size... BUT the cut of my jacket is clearly NOT meant for the petite.... as in, not meant for me. I SO wish this fit me correctly, but it just doesn't, and it is embarrassingly obvious. Year after year, WHY is this not offered in petites?? We want nice things that fit, too.

I purchased the red Outrigger jacket recently and recommend it. The quality is excellent with details as zippered pockets, inside pocket and adjustable cuffs. The slightly gathered back is flattering. It wears like a lightweight spring jacket weight but I was dry during a drenching downpour when I wore it. Great outside fabric, not hot and stiff like some rain outerwear. I am 5'5", 120 lbs. and the small fit great. Buy it.... you won't be sorry.

Great midweight jacket
I needed a jacket that's the right weight between my winter jacket and a simple fleece jacket. This is just perfect. Great for the chilly soccer games where the winter jacket is too much. It provides a nice wind block, too, that you don't get with fleece. I took it on vacation and it fit nicely in my backpack during the day when it was warmer and was just right for the chilly mornings and evenings. The only negative thing I'd say is that the sleeves are a little short, but I am also rather tall, so they're probably the right length for everyone else.

Get rid of the elastic in the back of the jacket
Overall a great jacket. Going to take it to Barbados with me, mostly in case it rains. Jacket is as described and shown in photos .BUT, I ordered the Dark Navy and it came in a package marked Dark Navy, but it sure looks "Black" to everyone I have showed it to. Actually I am happy with the color but if you are looking for "Dark Navy" You will obviously be taking a chance on the color you receive. I am going to keep it because I like the "Black". This jacket would do well without the elastic in the back, so as not to accent the Derriere as much - especially on me who wears a 1X which seems to run true to size. The hood is difficult to get back into it's neck pouch but I will probably wear it out most of the time so not a big deal for me. I am going to keep it and expect many years or wear from it.

Light weight with a hood just in case in rains!!
I now have 4 different colors of this style of jacket!! It is light weight and I love the hood at this time of year because you never know if it's going to be windy, snowy, rainy or all of the above. You can wear it with layers and is great for an outside baseball game!!

A go to jacket for spring & summer.
This is a nice light jacket that is ideal for the spring, summer and early fall season. Great structure, nice touch with gathering in back for a slimming profile. There is a bottom drawcord for further adjustment on the lower half of jacket, nice to block the wind. You can also modify how the sleeves fit with the Velcro strip, allows you to even push them up on the arm. If you don't have time to zip up the front has four Velcro strips for a quick closure. Love that the outside hand pockets are zippered to keep things from falling out, much of the time I run errands with just wallet & keys so this works well for me. The added bonus is an inside breast pocket very deep, room to spare. This item has a hood, which is not easy to find at this time of year on a light jacket. The color is a nice true red, like you would see on the primary color wheel. I ordered a medium and at 5'1" , 125 lbs it allows me to layer should I need to do so. I love that I can just toss this in the car and I am prepared for a chill in the air, a rain shower or whatever mother nature stirs up. I do recommend this item and would purchase again.

This jacket is great!
I purchased it in red and it's exactly the cheery colour to wear on a dull, showery day. I needed something for an upcoming early spring vacation and the fit is roomy enough for wearing layers without looking sloppy. And I love the way the hood folds away really neatly when not needed. I give this jacket an A+!

I normally wear a 3x in most clothes. However, I decided to order a 4x because we are traveling to England soon and I wanted to be sure there would be room under the jacket for layering in the chilly, rainy spring climate of the UK. Imagine my surprise when the 4x was too small! Sleeve length was good, but it was entirely too small in the arms, shoulders and chest. Way to make a big girl feel even bigger, Lands End! I'm going to order a 5x and hope it works for me.

I am larger gal and sometimes I have trouble finding things that fit me in the hips. I am very happy to see this jacket in a size 4x and 5x. Bravo, Lands End! I did have to call for measurements, so I thought I'd share them: the 4X has a garment chest of 65 inches, length of 30 3/8 inches and bottom opening of 66 inches. The 5X has a garment chest of 69 inches, length of 31 1/2 inches and bottom opening of 70 inches. Thanks to the kind customer service representative who gave me this information; she was a big help!

Good versatile choice
I purchased this jacket to replace a very old, very tired windbreaker and another light water resistant jacket I purchased many years ago from LE. I chose the navy. After checking the size chart, I couldn't decide if the medium would be big enough so I ordered both the medium and the large in navy. The large was swimming on me (shoulders, arm length), and the medium fit perfectly. I am impressed with the overall design and apparent quality of this jacket. The hood even has a stiff little brim to keep the rain off your face even more effectively. I have not worn this jacket in more than a Florida drizzle, but it performed as advertised. Given the performance of my last LE jacket, which was advertised as "waterproof" but got me soaked to the skin in a downpour, I would suspect the Outrigger, which is "water resistant," will only be okay for an occasional dash to the car. The jacket is so nice, however, that I love wearing it in any weather that requires a light jacket. I love all the pockets too!
I would definitely recommend it for casual outdoor activity if you want something classic and well made.
