Women's Luxe Wool Pea Coat
Strange fit once again
I really want to like Lands End coats and this one in particular. But, this is the third coat (different style) that I have ordered and they always fit oddly. The plus size coats would probably be great on someone who has an apple shape, but for us pear shaped girls, they just don't work. Of the three different style coats I tried, including this pea coat, all are quite big on top, baggy at the waist and then either too small or just plain unflattering on the bottom. Its really too bad because the coats are clearly well made and definitely warm, but they are strangely cut and it feels as if no part of the garments are actually true to size. Very disappointing.

Orange is not as shown
Please note that this is not a red-orange. The color is a very much of a yellow-orange. I look good in the color shown in the pictures, I look ill in this color.

Excellent wool pea coat!
My size has been changing slowly over the past couple of years, so I love that Lands' End now includes item dimensions in the descriptions! That being said, I ordered 2 sizes of this coat as I was unsure which would fit best. The 12 petite worked best, which is right in line with clothing I've purchased from other retailers lately so I feel the sizing seems accurate on this coat. I purchased when these were on sale and the color choices were golden amber and velvet orange…upon arrival I preferred the velvet orange. It's bright but not fluorescent, a nice fall color. The coat was packaged carefully, including cardboard covers over all of the buttons for protection.
This is an excellent deal for a great quality coat with impeccable details, and even at full price I think you get what you pay for here. Overall an excellent quality coat!

I ordered this coat for the color (a rich orange for Fall) but the surprise is the quality. It looks far more expensive than the price I paid and the feel is butter soft while being warm and comfortable. I find myself wearing this coat all the time. I immediately went online looking for other colors and considering only those coats made of this same fabric.

I'm 5'3", 115lbs, 28F(35)x24x35. I have broad shoulders and wide lats from weight lifting. I bought this in a 2P in Blackberry.
Sizing: I am not a petite. I have a long torso and longer arms in addition to my broad back. I will often buy an item in Tall sizing. That said, LE's size 4s are huge and Petite is the only range a 2 is offered. I'm familiar with their vanity sizing and expected no trouble fitting into the 2P.
I was right. The 2P fits great. I have enough room to layer and it looks trim with only a light layer as well. The sleeves are a touch shorter than I like, but I have long gloves to make up for that.
Material and Construction: The material is soft and warm. It repels moisture well and doesn't pill easily (the pea coat is new to me, but I have two of the swing car coats and they look new after two upstate NY winters). All the buttons are reinforced and I like that. The hang chain at the neck I could do without. It's cold against my skin and if my other two luxe wool coats are any indication, it will break.
Color: I got Blackberry. It's a nice deep purple. More Royal really, not really blue dominant, so though the color is pretty, I don't think "Blackberry" is accurate. But, it's pretty and true to my monitor and that's all that matters.
Overall: I got this for a steal. The particular size and color I got happened to be OTC and I had a 30% coupon, so I got a great deal. But, I like this coat and would pay the current sale price for it too.
I do want to say that the new version of this coat (item 443775) is not nearly as nice. I tried it on in the store. The fit isn't as nice, the material feels thinner and cheaper, and it costs more. I do like the new lining though.

Beautiful Pea Coat!
I also own the insulated pea coat in black and love it! This one is as beautiful in the orange color and very comfortable. I am 112 pounds, 5'3" and found the petite size 2 fit me the best. I did order the size 4 regular in the black and find it a little big on me but is still fine because in our Northern climate in Canada where it is very cold I need to wear layers. Overall, this coat is classy, soft, comfortable. I had many compliments! The smaller size in the uninsulated pea coat was the way to go for a snugger, more shapely fit for me, but if extra room is needed for layers, I would suggest a size bigger.

Perfect fitting, beautiful pea coat
This coat is such a great value with style. I ordered the petite size that I usually wear with other brands (sometimes I need to order down with LE) and it fit perfectly. This coat would be $100 more in any other store. A fantastic style and value!

Much smaller than size indicated
Wife normally wears a size 6 petite. However, size 8 was the smallest available, but ordered it anyway. When it arrived, my wife tried it on and it fit. However, she couldn't move her arms to stretch -- she felt like she was in a strait jacket. The coat was very well made, comfortable, but just too small. She went to Sears to return it. At the store, she found a size 12 in yellow that fit her - pretty large size discrepancy. Unfortunately, she didn't want the yellow coat, she would have preferred just about any other color.

I love this coat. The wool is high quality and soft, and the coat is very figure flattering. I wore this almost exclusively this winter and was kept warm, even through this very cold Minnesota winter. I would recommend this coat to anyone.
