Women's Luxe Wool Double Breasted Coat
Could be perfect with some modification!
I had been watching this coat because I liked the bottle green for ages. When it was reduced I bought an 18W. The coat nearly reached my ankles and the sleeves are too long. The front flap pockets look bulky and it does look better unbuttoned but an unbuttoned coat is useless in the cold. I am tossing up whether to get a tailor to modify it or to return it. The fabric is lovely as is the colour. It feels very warm.

Too short of sleeves for size tall
I was really excited about receiving this coat, and it looked elegant and soft when it arrived and the color was really nice?. but then was disappointed when I tried it on because I ordered a size tall and the sleeves were short! I'm just under 5'10 and usually talls from regular retailers versus tall specialty stores (for ladies much taller than me) fit perfect? this fit like a size regular. Also could have been a little more fitted in the waist. Sad to have to return it.

This coat is beautiful and warm. The wool is soft, the lining is nicely done. The fit seems true, and comfortable even over a jacket or thick sweater. I have a hard time finding coats to fit my arms and bust - this one was perfect.

Fabric great, style not so much
Beautiful soft fabric, but the style was very unflattering. The position of the pockets added girth where it was not needed!

Nice coat, a little matronly.
The coat is a beautiful color, and the fabric is soft and warm. Overall, the coat is pretty great. However, the pockets are a little high in the front, so it's quite awkward to put your hands (or anything else) in them. I'll have to adjust to that as my last coat had lower pockets on the side (where you hands go naturally).
The fit is pretty good, but the 14 (my usual size) is a little loose. The fit makes the coat seem matronly, I think. All of that said, the coat is comfortable and warm.

beautiful fabric but very poor fit
I sadly had to send this coat back. I loved the rich navy colour and the fabric was beautiful and soft. Prior to ordering I made sure to check the size chart and I ordered a size six. It was a perfect fit across the shoulders and arms but was shapeless in the torso/waist. I would agree with the reviewer who wrote that it is a very matronly fit. I am 5'6 and 130 lbs. The horizontal pockets were also a little odd. I live in a remote area and rely on online shopping but i will be very cautious to order clothes for me from Lands End in the future.

almost perfect but still an incredible value
I've been looking for a warmer coat in the current "man style," over-sized but not masculine, under which I could layer a sweater and jacket and still move, that was in an interesting color and refined in style and appearance. A coat with presence, but not the price tag that typically comes with presence. This is that coat... almost. The fabric is lovely and soft and the lining is wonderful. Not only is it beautiful (I have a weakness for anything herringbone), but it feels softer and much more substantial that the linings in most coats I've tried recently. The bottle green color is exquisite and not at all ordinary or drab. The coat is beautifully-made and blocks wind surprisingly well. I ordered a 12 Petite, my usual size, and the fit is perfect. I love the simplicity of the styling except for one thing... the pockets. If this coat had on-seam pockets instead of the awkwardly-placed flap pockets it would be perfect. It's not a deal-breaker for me, and I've already seen a tailor about adding pockets once the weather warms up. Using them as they are now is awkward enough that it will bother me every time I wear it if I don't add them. As much of a steal as this coat is at full price, I might not have kept it if I'd paid that because of the pockets.
So, Land's End, if next year you revise this coat and make it with on-seam pockets instead of flap pockets, and you offer it in some of the same or similar beautiful colors (aubergine, perhaps, or winter white), and don't change anything else (except maybe adding a button at the top like another reviewer mentioned), I will probably buy another one. Possibly even at full price. Thank you for a lovely coat. It really is a beauty.

Nice material & construction
I ordered the red color (Garnet) in a 2P and I am pretty satisfied with the coat overall. The material is soft to the touch, and the gold buttons are cute too. It also feels durable and well-made. The only thing that is a little different about it (but not necessarily bad) is that it has a bell-like silhouette, at least on me. It's narrow through the top and then flares out gradually toward the bottom. I was expecting it to be more cinched at the waist, but you can't really tell from the picture. At the end of the day, though, I'm keeping it because it is nicely made and warm.

The loden green colour is lovely and the Tall size gives a perfect length in the sleeves and torso, as well as overall body.
The quality of this coat is quite good. It arrived quite wrinkled, which had me worried that this would be an issue when wearing the coat. However, I took it in to have it professionally pressed at a drycleaner and it has been great since. It had a lovely tailored appearance, with the extra details and stitching. I have had numerous compliments each time wearing it. Thank you, Lands End, for carrying Tall sizes!!

I felt old and buxom in this coat. It has a very matronly fit.
