Rated 2 out of 5 by HaleeMom So dissappointing-- very boxy and over-sized jacket!
I was so excited about getting a hooded squall jacket at a very good sale price, but alas, it was not to be. For me the fit was way off as it was too short and too wide. I am 5'2" and 120 lbs. and I usually wear a size P6. In LE jackets I usually order a PS which I also did in this one. I had a good 5-6" of extra room inside the jacket after it was zipped up and the bottom of it was way too wide. I think a PXS would have still been too baggy so I returned it without reordering. The hood was over-sized as well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Shop4Value Not the Land's End quality I expected!
It appears Land's End has changed its product lines, especially for the hooded squall parka. This jacket is awfully SMALL! I usually wear a size S, but I ordered a size M, thinking it'd be roomy enough. Unfortunately, even a size M is very tiny! The jacket barely falls past the hip area, and its sleeves are extremely narrow. The cut of this jacket is abnormal, and it does not look good when you wear it. I gave it a 2-star rating simply because of the good zipper and good lining of fleece. Land's End should get back to its old design of hooded squall parka many years ago when I bought one and fell in love with it! The new design is anything but lovable! I have no choice but returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ready2play VERY well made,
I usually wear a size 12 or 14, so the large (14/16) is a little big. Am 5'8, 160. Will probably keep it and just put on more layers under.
Jacket is very comfy and warm and looks great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Seaweede It's huge!
This is my first jacket from Lands End. I wanted to love it, the colour is amazing the quality and warmth factor are perfect BUT this jacket is just waaaaay too big. I'm 5'6"/125 and I'm swimming in the XS. The sleeves hang to my knuckles and I feel like I can add a small puppy to fill the space in the middle. The bottom hangs away from my body and I fear wind would just blow right up and inside the hem. If they offered this in an XXS this might just be the perfect jacket. Sadly, this is going back-too bulky.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NDLE Outer fabric is great. Arms a little short.
I often order a size up for arm length, but to no avail here. They are not terribly short, but if you have long arms, this is average. The opening at the wrist is wide, but could accommodate ski gloves. There is an inner liner and cuff that is stitched several inches up to prevent snow from traveling up the arm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cruzindoon Nice basic jacket for cooler days.
I prefer this to the Primaloft Jacket overall because of the roomier fit through the body, although I like that the Primaloft feels cooler for everyday wear since it is not fleece lined.. The temperature rating was he same for both jackets but because of the fleece lining and the elastic cuffs, i think the Squall felt a little warmer. The plum color is nice and overall this is a nice lightweight jacket for cooler and wetter days. I don't usually wear gloves so the elastic cuff that another reviewer mentioned as pushing against gloves is so much a concern for me. I'm 5' tall and 145 lbs and I found my usual PM a bit snug so I exchanged for PL to make sure I could put layers underneath. I noticed that there is a newer/different version of this jacket, but I prefer this one because of the plain gray liner inside vs the navy w/yellow strips inside the collar of the newer jacket. Otherwise I could not tell how the jackets were different, nor could the LE customer service agent I talked to. I wish LE would make a 3-in-1, solid colored jacket in petite sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MsKathy Wonderful Casual Jacket
I have two squall jackets, I like all them so much I bought one as a gift for my sister. She was delighted. These jackets are warm. They are water resistant, wind resistant, and just an all round good jacket for bad weather. They launder beautifully and are well made. They are roomy enough to wear a bulky sweater underneath. They hold up so well that I only bought my second one because I was in the mood for a different color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PugLuv Great jacket, love the details!
I'm sitting outside & it's in the mid 40's & I feel great in this coat. Not hot & def not cold. I love the cuffs on the inside of jacket & the zipper w/ Velcro bc sometimes buttons get time consuming when your dog has gotta go (if you know what I mean). Love the hood, the fact it actually has one, and that it is plenty big to cover your face from the elements. I knocked off a star bc it needs more pockets. LE, you have the entire inside of the coat, come on, I need a place for all my stuff & don't like shoving it into small pockets. Overall great coat, but I haven't worn it yet in really cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RanM Very close to perfect
Wonderfully warm. It has been between 0 and 20 degrees the past few days and I've stayed toasty warm for my five minute walk from my car to where I work. When I received this coat, it seemed way too lightweight and thin to keep me warm (my last not-Land's-End coat was bulky and very heavy but warm) but I haven't felt cold at all. The fleeced lined hood is equally amazing. The whole jacket - body, hood, and pockets are crazy warm.
The only slight downside is more of a personal preference. The interior cuffs do battle with my gloves for my wrists. Either the cuffs push my gloves foward or my shirt up my arm. Annoying but in no way would ever prevent me from buying this again.
I did return the small for an extra small but since I normally wear an extra small tops it was more my error than a sizing issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AllisonVT02 Great winter jacket!
I ordered this jacket for myself because I love my 2 young children's Lands End jackets. I never worry that they'll get cold when he temperature drops here in the Virginia mountains. I love my new Squall jacket, especially the option for Tall length, I hate feeling like jacket sleeves are not long enough! The Tall size solves that for me wonderfully! I am a size 10 and ordered the Tall/Medium and it's a little big in the width but the length is perfect! I have read reviews of people frustrated w Velcro and I haven't had any issues with that. I think a nice addition would be thumbholes in the wrist lining. It keeps me warm and dry running around w my little ones. Thanks Lands End!
