Women's Plus Size f(x)™ Down Coat
Zipper broken after about one week.
I bought this coat after having read about the problems others had with the zipper. I read the tag that came with the coat warning about how to use the zipper properly. Within one week, the zipper became stuck at the bottom of the coat forcing me to step into it like a kindergartner. I am sending it back.

I really hesitated buying this coat after all the reviews citing problems with the zipper and the shedding. Fortunately, I bought it in black and am delighted. It is lightweight but extremely warm and I love how the hood can be adjusted. I've had no problems with shedding--and since I live in black--the uniform of New Yorkers--any shedding would be very visible. As for the zipper, it seems to be the same as the zippers that Lands' End uses on other outerwear I have. I learned to be sure the parts connect properly--I can hear a slight click--and have had no problems. And, given the sale price, it is an unbeatable value.

BEST DOWN COAT EVER
I received my down coat on Friday. And from the moment I opened the box I was amazed at how pretty and well designed this coat was. It runs pretty true to size, so ordering a 2X for my 18/20 sizing worked out just perfect. I took the time to read mostly all the reviews, this being my first time ordering a Land's End product. I must say, this is probably the best investment I could have ever made. I would highly recommend this coat to anyone looking for a light weight but warm coat for the winter season. Most complaints about the zipper I found to be slightly correct. But I noticed that the zipper worked just fine, if you took your time to connect the zipper into both zips in order for it to work correctly. I found no issues at all and since I figured out the zipper problem I am SO incredibly thrilled about wearing this coat on the next major cold day. I can't wait to begin ordering more stuff from Land's End.

what an amazing detail specific awsome jacket
I live in Alaska and I ordered this jacket in " lime color" 2012/13. Name a "Blizzard" here on the alaska shores - this absolutely amazing jacket with all its detailed features kept me warm and cosy. The inside mesh bag to keep scarves, gloves, wallets, "dog food" etc., the extra finger and hand extension, the pulleys every by the hood - the clip close buttons over the zipper (very practical when you have to run to the parking lot and you have no time to do pull the zipper up) - all this features are well thought out (please promote the designer) which I have not found in other coats. I love the great colors for 2012 which were not available for 2013 anymore. This is the second winter I am wearing this coat and guess: I get compliments right and left. I have no zipper problems or down leaking problems at all. This must of been a this year fluke.
Please Lands End, please keep this amazing coat going. If you must insert better zippers- not a biggy. And: Please get the cool colors coming like lime, maroon purple, a darker turquoise etc. tx so much

This coat would be amazing if the zipper wasn't so cheap.
This coat would be amazing if the zipper wasn't so cheap. It's super warm & flattering but the zipper got stuck and I had to step in and out of it to wear. I just exchanged for a new one but I think I'm going to send it back for an entirely new, better rated coat. I know it will only be a matter of time before this zipper bites the dust. So sad. :(

The zipper makes this coat a hot MESS!!!
Why did I order a coat that you have step in to wear?!? The features, design and color (bright magenta) are beautiful but the zipper is a disaster. So the coat is in a box ready to go back. The sizing is fine. I usually wear a 20/22, so I ordered up a size (3X) for layers and the fit worked out great!! I ordered the diamond down parka (which is the best coat I ever owned even better than Columbia, seriously!!) from Land's End previously so I had high hopes for this coat...what a letdown : (

Simply put: The best down coat I've ever owned.
Two of my friends saw this on me last year (when it was still available), and had immediate garment envy - So each of them promptly ordered their own! Alas, that was last year, and my nephew saw it last week and wanted to get one for his wife -- a year later -- and it is no longer is available in smaller sizes. This coat is so great because you don't need a hat or scarf with it, and in milder weather, you don't even need gloves or mittens! It streamlines the usual time-consuming task of getting ready to go out onto the frozen tundra that we call Chicago. I love shoveling in it because I really don't have to bundle up at all -- I just throw it on. The pockets are amazing - especially the lower inside netted pocket. I got mine in bright lime green, which is so great during the grey dreary winter days. It's the color of the first tips of spring blooms as they push their way up in late February. All of my other winter outerwear is black or grey. I just love this coat. Period..

Loosing Feathers galore!!
Love this coat and was really excited to get it and have worn it a few times and yes, I have the same zipper issues that others have reported, but I've been able to work around it.
My biggest problem is the feathers. My daughter keeps telling me it looks like a plucked a chicken every time I wear it, and I'm not talking 1 or 2 feathers, but I'm COVERED in them. I can't wear it without making sure I have a lint roller with me and I unfortunately don't wear it if I'm going somewhere where I can't take care of the mess. Would love to be able to wear this anytime, anywhere, but simply can't.

Terrible zipper, wonderful coat
This coat arrived last Friday and I eagerly wore it that same night. The magenta color is so cheerful in the dreary winter and the coat is incredibly warm and comfortable. I love it. But, from the very first wearing, the zipper was "sticky" and by today (Tuesday), it was completely stuck. It zips UP and DOWN, but then will not come undone. So I had to step out of my coat at work this morning. Awkward. Not good. What *was* good was that I emailed Lands End about this today and they're sending me a new coat and I can then return this broken zipper one at no charge to me. It's annoying and inconvenient, though, as it's cold out and now I can't wear this coat until I get the new one. And I'm afraid that the new zipper will be just as tricky as the old one. C'mon, Lands End - how about you a) get a new zipper supplier/style for future coats and b) offer to pay for us to get new zippers put in coats that have this problematic zipper? I admit that as much as I like this coat, I'm now dreading wearing it for fear I'll end up awkwardly and embarrassingly having to step out of it again at some future date.

perfect- no issues for me
I don't know what the issues about the zippers are. I am not having any problems. the zipper seems just the same and any other LE coat zipper. The zipper did seem a little stiff at first, but after a couple of uses that seems to have stopped. if the zipper gets stiff again I will just rub a candle across the zipper a couple of times and then run the zipper up and down (a tip given to me by a Department Store sales rep). Now, about the coat. I love how warm it is. I can walk through a blizzard and not get cold. this coat is much warmer than the LE coat I purchaed back in 2011...and way lighter too. I got the Regent color, and it looks way better in person. I thought it would be purple-ish, but it turned out to be the perfect royal blue with a shimmer that makes it really stand out. I usually like to stick to my neutral tones (black/ brown/ gray), but since this was already on sale and I could get an additional 30% off I took a chance. I am a size 18/20, so I usually have to go up to a 2x because I am in between LE sizing. Honestly, if a 1x were available I probably would have fit into it. I have a little extra hip room (I am triange shape), and moderate room in the upper body. but that is just the peril of having the triangle body type. Bottom line is this coat is warm, light weight, and cute to boot. I have experienced some minor shedding, but that is to be expected with a down coat, expecially a down coat with so much stitching. There may be negative reviews about this coat, but I will defend this coat because it really is perfect for me and looks very fashionable.
