Women's High Rise Straight Leg Jeans
I have searched for ONE YEAR for a pair of jeans that would fit properly and look good on me after my last pair of good fitting jeans gave out. Name a company -- I have bought their jeans. I have bought jeans" for well over $100. They all looked and fit awful.
I am 5'4" and 115 pounds, 62 years old. I have a classic "hourglass" figure with small waist, and "D" size bust and relatively wide hips. It shouldn't be THAT hard to find something that fits me that I look good in, right? WRONG!! All jeans now are cut "low rise" (which might be OK if they weren't mostly spandex, which causes them to bunch up and pull downwards when they aren't anchored around your waist). They all fit your legs like leggings (including some expensive jeans that make a big point of claiming that they don't). I don't want industrial strength farmer jeans. I want nice, relatively thin, jeans that don't cling to me like saran wrap, but don't hang like a bag and which actually come up to my waist and (this is the big one) FIT my waist -- as opposed to have a two inch gap.
These do. I am in heaven!! I just ordered 5 more! (Size 4, length 30). As far as the pockets the only thing I'm going to put in my pants pocket is a credit card or a hotel room key or the like and these will slip into the back pocket just fine. Having a big bulky front pocket (or putting a big bulky object in the front pocket) would totally spoil the flat fit and appearance. That's what your purse is for.

I ordered these jeans with an inseam size of 26 inches. After the first washing, the seam measured 25 inches and when I sat down four inches of my legs were exposed. I've never had this problem before! Then I realized that it would cost $7 to send back defective merchandise. Fortunately I live near a Sears and can return the jeans without cost other than my time and gas, but I will not be ordering from Lands End again. Their return procedure is abysmal.

nice jeans, but small pocket
I have an older pair of LE jeans that I really like! These jeans are not quite the same, but fit well and look good. The problem that I have with these new ones, is that the front pockets are too small to carry much in them. They need to be deeper.

Fit is fine but pockets are a joke
100% cotton denim is a plus (no unwanted spandex) as well as the Fit 3! Some reviewers mention fabric is somewhat lightweight, but since it is all cotton and I live in the south, the weight is fine for me. I think, though, there is something weird going on with the sizing at Lands' End. I have been buying Lands' End jeans and trousers since the early 1980's and although my height and weight have not changed in 30+ years, the sizing chart has. For comparison purposes, I am 5'7", 120 lbs. I used to wear a size 6 in Lands' End jeans (I still have an old pair which I wear for yardwork). When I checked the sizing for Women's High Rise jeans, my measurements are on the low side of 4 and were more in line with 2! Nevertheless, I bought the size 4, which are loose-ish around the waist, so a belt is needed, which I was hoping to avoid. The 32 length is fine, the legs are straight, and not especially baggy, and definitely not leggings-like (leg strangling, as I have muscular legs). But the pockets. I don't understand the point of them. Far too short and I don't see how they are meant to be tummy-controlling according to they way they are attached. If someone wants tummy control, wouldn't they wear Spanx panties? Come on Lands' End. Women want to take a walk wearing these jeans and not have to carry a handbag. They want to be able to put their keys in the front pockets, maybe a small amount of change and possibly a cellphone. I am lucky to be able to keep a Kleenex inside the pockets, never mind anything else! So many people complain about this problem with the pockets and the pocket situation is the main reason I cannot give five stars. Nobody seems to make them like they used to (like the 30 year old Lands' End size 6) and I don't understand why. Other than that these are comfortable jeans and I am basically happy with them.

I bought these jeans in 3 different sizes, and all three sizes did not fit. The first pair was too small, The second pair fit my hips and the length was great, but the waist was 2" too small. The next size up was big all over. I could not find a size that was right and returned them all. Goldilocks had better luck than I did!

Not a true traditional fit but they are 100% cotton.
These jeans are a lighter weight fabric than my old Natural Fit jeans. The pockets are way too small- practically worthless. I love the 100% cotton! The new stretch fabrics for jeans look cheap, feel cheap, itch and do not last. Will never buy another pair of stretch jeans. The colors are good- I have the medium wash. The pant legs were wider than I prefer. How about a tapered leg? Over all -these jeans fit. I have the size 12 reg, 32" length and if I take care of them they'll last until LE makes improvements or goes back to making REAL jeans.

I love 100% cotton jeans
These are great jeans. I would have given them 5 plus stars, except for the pockets. Fabric is good quality. I am a 2X, putting the pockets crosswise to pretend they will hold in my stomach is just silly. I am not small, but spandex in jeans, just makes me itch. Especially when hiking long distances. I am happy with the size I am so please make more 100% cotton jeans, maybe black?

Alas all cotton Jeans with no lycra.. and a real waist... Praises be..!
I was excited to find jeans with both a waist at the waist and NO lycra. No more muffin tops..! Yay !!! I do have to wear a belt with these, but I am overall still happy. It was exciting to be able to buy jeans made for my curvy figure.. vs the trend of only being able to buy those made for the Twiggy-like figures. Thank you!!!!
What I wish was different is the front pockets. The front pockets are too shallow. This is a problem for me as I want to be able to put my car keys in the pockets w/out losing them, as well as carry cash. ( and at the risk of sounding greedy...my cell phone too.) Alas these pockets are too shallow to do so without losing what is in my front pockets... so I still have to carry a purse for a quick run to the store, or out walking Darn !
I was also disappointed that Lands End no longer gives you custom hemming option. That was a big selling point for me over the last 30 years that I have bought from LE. I wear a regular size as I have a long torso, but short legs. Hemming jeans by hand is not fun, or convenient. The other problem I had was in sizing. I have a fit 3 pair of cords I bought a few years ago in a size 14 which I still wear, they are even a little big! Alas in the current sizing in fit 3... I am an 18 ! The lack of consistency in the sizing from year to year makes it difficult to buy from the catalog... without sending them back a couple times to get the right fit. AND... as I am still wearing size 14 in LE, this was a unpleasant surprise to suddenly have to buy a size 18!

Suppose to be relaxed fit but they are not!! They are more like skinny jeans. I have bought all my jeans at Land's End for 15 years. They are using lighter weight denim and now the fit is awful. Will not be buying more until they fix them. It's too bad, they use to make the perfect jean!

Fit perfectly in waist but much too large in hips and thigh. Loved the straight leg opening.
Cannot wear these pants; I like the quality and the straight leg since the skinny jeans are not for me. I need a straight cut in hip/thigh area with a straight leg that is not a skinny leg.
