Women's Featherlight Down Parka
Love this Coat!
I purchased this coat on sale and I am so glad I did. This coat fits well, it's so warm and so light. I've been wearing it since then and I even got so warm in my car I had to turn down the heat, (I am always, always cold).
My one daughter also bought it and loves it as well.

Very comfortable but not flattering
I am not the vainest person in the world, but I do care about not accentuating my flaws (stomach is larger than I'd like). This coat made me look pregnant when I wear a cross body purse. I am 5'4 and weigh 175, size 14 usually. I ordered the XL. The tag on the inside of the coat says "XL/18", so maybe this coat is just too big for me, but it is comfortable! Even though it looks pretty much awful around my mid-section, it is the most comfortable coat I have ever owned! It is very lightweight, but I think it will be warm enough for our winter next year. I live in Minnesota and have worn this coat this year on days when it has gone below 10 degrees, and I have felt warm enough with a hat and scarf. I have accepted that I will never be as warm as I want to be in any coat in this climate, so maybe I am just more tolerant of being cold when temps drop. I did have some slight problems with feathers coming out of the jacket and onto my clothes, but this was pretty minor. The feathers are pretty small, and there have only been a few on my clothes at any given time which were easily picked off. The zipper is a little fussy, but it hasn't been enough to really bother me. When I think about this coat, I think this is not something I should like that much, but it is SO COMFORTABLE. So, if comfort ranks above how you look in this coat (if you are in the range of an XL size), then I would recommend this coat.

perfect for my needs
I took this coat on a cruise to see the Northern Lights (Feb-Mar 2014). You see the Northern lights at night when it is clear and cold and you are above the Artic Circle: very cold. Since we were on a ship we had to go out on the deck while the ship was underway. It was very cold and windy. I put a LE fleece Henley on and this coat over it. I was as warm as could be (with a scarf and hat and gloves). I also wore my very old LE fleece lined jeans. I don't think they sell these anymore. On days when we were in port the jacket was very comfortable over a regular shirt or shirt/sweater combination. The coat is very, very light and since it is down, it smushes and easily fits into stuffed carryon luggage. I am very happy with the jacket, the fit, and the color (black), and the style. Yes the zipper is a bit fiddly but it does work. There is a learning curve - crazy for a zipper, but true. Great travel jacket.

The color and fit are good, but the fabric is not good.
I ordered this coat by phone, and was happy when it arrived. The color, bay water, is good, as is the fit. But when I walked outside wearing this coat, the wind went right through it. I was very disappointed. The outer fabric was not sufficiently windproof. I returned the coat, but I hope that Lands End will offer a similar coat with a more wind-resistant outer fabric. Also, the zipper required a lot of patience to make it work.

I love this jacket!
This jacket is very true to size (I'm a petite XS in almost all clothes, and it fits perfectly). No zipper problems as others have reported. I live in the DC area and although this perhaps wouldn't be warm enough for the coldest days, it's perfect for 25-degree weather and is so comfortable to drive in. It doesn't constrict me at all, and is so lightweight it hardly feels like I'm wearing a coat. The graphite color is a very light milk chocolate with a faintest hint of bronze; I don't love the color (it lacks pizzazz) but if there were no other choices I'd happily keep it. I've ordered the bright fuchsia instead.

What I expected for a lightweight down coat
I've had this coat for about a month now and I haven't had problems with feathers "leaking" like others have reported. It's not the warmest coat I own, but it's about as warm as I expected given the lightweight description. I live in Michigan and am very comfortable wearing this jacket (with a scarf, hat, etc) on most of our winter days days. I was also very pleased with the fit. I am 5'5", approximately 120 lbs, and ordered the regular XS. My only complaint (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is that I wish it had a hood. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

I got this jacket sometime ago and am very happy with it!
It fits me very well, and i got this mainly as a substitute for my woolen jacket that I end up wearing all the time. It keeps me warm and is extremely light and comfortable. The weather here in the nights is about 35 - 40ºF and sometimes about 10º lower. It worked well for this range of temperature. It is a bit flimsy in the sense, feels very delicate and I am scared of ripping it if I pull the pocket zip a bit hard. Overall, I love this jacket and will definitely recommend it to a friend!

fit beautifully and warm, but ...
I got a petite xs muted graphite. It's a nice color that goes with a wide range of colors, and I love the way the parka is tailored. The stitches pattern slims the figure and the size fits my 5'1.5'' and 115lb body nicely. I also like that the parka seems very warm.
I'd love the parka a few inches longer, but compared to the following two issues, it's minor. First, the feather leaks. I wouldn't call it "all over the pace," but it's noticeable, especially when I wear a black sweater underneath. My husband is allergic to down, so I really need it completely contained. Second, the nylon material creates statics, which I try to avoid.
Suggestions: 1) Keep the design and stitch pattern, but use PrimaLoft instead of down. I have a coat filled with PrimaLoft, and it's as light as down but plenty warm. 2) Use a material that doesn't create statics. 3) Add more colors.

Not warm, missing important features
I have purchased many down jackets and vests from Lands End over the years. I was looking for a less-bulky but still warm down jacket for an upcoming trip- unfortunately, this didn't make the cut. It is very lightweight, but did not deliver the warmth as advertised, so what is the point? Not even close. And it really needs to have enclosed pockets, and better cuff elastic. Will not keep out the winter from any direction. It is going back immediately.

Feathers all over my black sweater!
Land's End: I HOPE you read this! I do not live in a cold climate but at night it can be in the 30's and 40's so I wanted something lightweight but warm. This seemed perfect. I have tried about 10 down jackets/parkas and they are all sort of heavy and very tight across the chest, seemingly made for flat-chested women only. I am just average across the chest. So I ordered a size larger (1X instead of my usual XL) so I could wear a sweater underneath and also feel more comfortable. It is a little big but feels great. There was no color I liked (prefer true red, medium blue, light blue, teal, pink, lime green, hunter green) so I ordered the marine blue hoping it wouldn't be navy, but it is! Not that great looking with black pants which I always wear. Would like a contrasting color. There are not enough snaps on the flap, need from 1-3 more. No snap at the waist looks awful. I like to often just use the snaps. Because it is not lined, when I tried it on over my black sweater, and then took it off, my sweater was full of little feathers and it took about 15 minutes to pick them all off. Thank goodness I was home as I had to take off the sweater to pick them off the back! This could never be acceptable! Will probably return it and HOPE that next Fall you could make the same lightweight parka WITH A LINING to prevent feathers from getting on clothes, and with MORE SNAPS and in some OTHER COLORS! PLEASE?! Otherwise, I REALLY like it!
