Women's Featherlight Down Jacket
Nice lightweight warmth
I bought this in the Women's Plus size 3X and it fit nicely. I normally wear a size 24 to 26 on top, so it was pleasant to find that this still fit. I was hesitant to buy this as being my size, I did not want to look like the Michelin Man. While I was a little puffy, it didn't make me look like I was inflated. The Wine color is a nice earthy burgundy that is more interesting than black but not flashy. I was able to smash this jacket down far enough to fit into the seat pocket on the airplane, which was nice, as most other people with winter coats on the flight had to hold them on their laps since the overhead bins were full. In terms of warmth I would say this could perform as advertised if suitably accompanied. I wore it on a 23 degree morning with a midweight sweater and was warm enough. For colder days you definitely need to layer more. I wore the Women's Plus Size Polartec Aircore 200 Parka the day before and felt that this jacket (Featherlight Down Jacket) was warmer, even if the coverage was less. I think the high neck collar was good enough without a scarf, but the sleeve length is so exact you need gloves.

Comfortable, warm, and flattering
I have a small collection of Lands End down jackets and parkas for every kind of cold Chicago winters (and autumns and springs) have to offer. This is a great addition and is already a favorite. It's slimmer profile and lighter weight make it feel very comfortable while running errands, getting in and out of the car, and especially for grocery shopping when I tend to boil with heat inside the store when wearing one of my other jackets. I also absolutely love it for traveling as it's perfect on a chilly plane without being bulky, and it really does fold up small so it's easy to stuff into a bag or backpack. This jacket feels almost weightless so I was surprised how warm it is. I've worn it in 25-30 degree weather with a light shirt and was comfortable, especially when moving. Any colder than that and you definitely need something warmer underneath, like a sweater or a fleece shirt, or layers. Also, if you wear it in the house for a few minutes before going out, it warms up and traps your body heat, so it feels warmer once you're outside. I wear an S or M in LE jackets, and bought this in M so I could layer underneath if needed. The collar is soft and doesn't feel like it's choking me when it's snapped all the way up. The sleeves are a bit loose on me, but I prefer that for ease of movement and for layering or wearing heavier sweaters. The fitted shape is flattering and stylish. Very happy with it.

This jacket is extremely light weight and is comfortable to wear but is not the least bit warm. The stitching goes all the way through and with no lining the wind comes right in. There are no interior pockets and the 2 exterior pockets are large enough for hands but will not accommodate anything else at the same time.

I wanted a lightweight, warm jacket that was short. This was a good choice. The fit is flattering and stylish without the bulk.

Lovely coat, but not as warm as advertised, some design flaws
I ordered this coat in 1X, Capri Seas. It fits as expected, and the Capri Seas color is lovely, though darker than appears on my screen (it's more like a dark mallard color). It is lightweight and not too puffy, however, when I wore it on a day when the temperature fell below 30, I was downright cold. I also wore it on a super-windy 50 degree and I was cold. I'm keeping it, as a fall coat, but this won't work for me as a winter coat. I need something that can keep me warm in wind and snow and this isn't it. Also, it does not zip up to the neck - you have to snap it - I'd prefer zip. The sleeves have elastic at the wrist, but they are huge, which would allow snow and cold in. And a removeable hood would be ideal.

I had ordered the down core jacket & thought it was too lightweight. Ordered this in capri seas which is backordered. Went to my local Sears & the coats were in. There was one capri seas, not my size. I have to say i was disappointed in the color. Not at all as vibrant as pictured. I tried the coat on in my size, Small. it fit nicely for me.. It is a fitted coat so if you are looking for extra room- this is not the coat for you. The quality of the stitching is poor & the elastic around the cuffs is cheaply made. I agree with the prior reviewer about this coat. Though the core has its faults, I am sticking with it cause if I layer it will be fine. Wore it with weather in the 30's, windy & with layers it was fine. The colors offered in the core are better too. I cancelled my back order for the coat immediately.
Note to LE- Please bring back better quality coats. I am replacing one from 6 years ago & it was made so much better!!!!!

This jacket is sort of odd in a number of ways, although the Fuchsia Plum is very pretty. The jacket is good for wearing around the house for extra warmth, definitely not warm enough for cold northern winters, but that's not what I bought it for. I wanted a Down jacket that wasn't so bulky for the occasional cold southern winter wind, and fall weather up north. It will probably do the job for those aspects. My usual medium fits a little snug, not room for many layers, although the fitted style makes the jacket look nicer. The fact that the zipper does not go all the way up the front of the collar is very strange, and having 2 snaps instead of where the zipper should go, is even stranger! The collar itself is nice and warm around the neck, but the zipper issue ruins that effect. Zip pockets are roomy, but the way they attach on the inside is very cheap looking. I have long arms, and appreciate these sleeves going all the way to my hands, at least that's one plus. The jacket is just the right length, but I really would have liked some sort of hood. The seams near the elbow tend to want to be too tight, maybe poor quality sewing. All things considered I have yet to decide whether it's a keeper or not. Definitely not high quality, and not for real winter weather.

Awesome warm jacket!!!!
In coats, jackets or other outerwear I wear a size medium. With this jacket I was able to put on a tank top, long sleeve t-shirt and 1/2 zip fleece lands end top underneath and had plenty of room to move.
I bought this jacket to wear to the gym, but also when i take fall and winter walks. I have taken multiple long walks wearing this jacket with two light layers under it and i was plenty warm. If anything i probably could have lost a layer underneath.
I think the key people need to remember to achieve the temperature rating this jacket has, you must wear warm clothes or layers underneath. This is not going to keep you warm if you just put a short sleeve t under it.
I purchased this jacket from Sears Land's End store and in black.
this jacket is very slimming.
Recommendations - snaps could be earsier to use in mid-body area.

Jacket to Live in!
I'm so glad I bought the capri seas jacket today in the store - the medium was the last one on the rack and now I see it's sold out online! Great to get a discount on it, as well! The color is such a wonderful splash of color and is gorgeous! I love the lightness of this jacket and it doesn't look too terribly bulky. It's slightly shaped/tapered. I am 5.4" and 147 lb so the medium fits with room for a sweater underneath. I think for the price I paid, I'd go back for another color! It's very toasty and I think I'll be living in it this winter!

I love this jacket. It's is really a feather. I like also the color (wine) which is between a red and and plum with just a little shimmer due to the fabric enhancing the color. Size is generous. L is more fit for 16 and sleeves are long (just too much: this is for the 4 stars). In my opinion it is perfect for fall or spring (temperate) and not winter. But I'm chilly. Anyway generous size allows layers. As usual possibility of snap plus zip is very comfy. And it is perfect to fold and to put in bag.
