Women's Emory Low Heel Boots
Stylish and comfortable
I have these in two colors. I'm an 8.5 in shoes and an 8 in these (as with just about every boot). I have an average to narrow foot, but bunions on both feet. These boots are super comfortable! Just enough of a heel to be cute. I forget I'm even wearing them. Great quality. I love the graceful curve of the back heel. I think $189 is a little steep, but with 30% off these are a good value.

Cute but small calves
I thought the boots were totally cute, enough of a heel to look dressy and still sturdy leather. However, I should've listened to the commenter who said the shaft was triangularly shaped - 16" the max at the top, with the calf even smaller, tapering more down to the ankle. I could not zip up and had to return.

I was delighted to find this boot with this heel height. I can no longer wear higher heels and this solves the problem of needing a dressier look. The boot is elegant and sleek looking and the fit is fine. My only complaint is that the ankle is quite stiff; I suppose that will take several wearings to break in. I also wish the footbed had more padding. I have a narrow foot, and these medium width boots fit fine with light weight warm socks.

Nice boots but snug
These boots are really nice, great looking, but they are a little tight in the calf. My calves are not very large and the fit is snug. They are impossible to wear with tucked in knit pants or jeans. I am hoping they will stretch a bit as I will keep them and, if they don't loosen up, I will give them to one of my daughters.

make sure to check the measurements provided
I need a wide calf, but do not normally wear a wide shoe. In order to get that with this boot, you must order the wide - which changes the sizing at the foot. I wear either an 8 or an 8 1/2. I own last year's version in brown and ordered that in 8 1/2 and must wear a sock inside so my foot does not move around too much. This time I made sure to order the 8. Fit is perfect. No pinching around my calf and fits fine around my foot. Love the low heel and the quality of the leather.

this boot is just what I was looking for
Perfect boot for CA fall and winter for wearing with a skirt or dress. Love the lower heel with a fancier style. I usually wear an 8 in a shoe and an 8.5 in a boot. So the boot 8.5 fits perfect and the 8 is a bit too small. .

This is a beautiful boot and I was very disappointed to have to return it. The shaft of this boot is way too large for my legs. I am 5'4 and weigh 120. My legs are slender but definitely not unusually thin. Wish they made this in a more slender style.

Beauty and comfort.
This boot is the best I've found in decades of looking. The heel is ideally balanced for good posture, and low enough that walking is a breeze. It looks elegant and fashionable, but it wears very comfortably. I have medium-sized but muscular calves, and I was a bit perturbed by the tightness of the fit at the top when I first tried to zip the boots up. The elastic vent works, though, and while they're snug, they're not too tight. But if you have very large or well-developed calves, these boots may be a tad too tight. I plan to spray them and also apply 'dubbin' to ensure that they're water-tight. To me, though, the most important factor is comfort, and these are wonderful. Now to find a home for all the other pairs of boots that were bought with optimism but quickly disappointed! Thank you, yet again, Lands End!

Beautifule Leather Boot
Unfortunately I had to return the boot as it was too wide for my narrow foot, even with socks. Loved the look and that fact it was a leather boot with a leather sole - a rare find these days.

14-in wide in the calf, no goring at calf .... 16-in wide only at zipper top
First, the good news: nice build quality, supple leather. Heel-tip-to-floor contact 0.5-to-1 inch not overly stable but looks dressy. Size-9 as ordered did fit my size-9 foot with a thin sock. The small shiny buckle is unobtrusively stylish. No arch support, but a slim orthotic could be added.
Now the bad news. Nice materials but dysfunctional design. This boot should not be advertised as a "wide-calf" model. It is actually a "wide-under-knee" design. The top of the boot is 16-inches wide but the circumference at the calf muscle - the mid-portion of the lower leg - is only 14 inches wide with no goring in the calf. The goring extends only two inches from the zipper-top.
The leg of this boot has a downward facing triangle design, with the widest part of the triangle starting under the knee at 16-inch circumference, then narrowing steadily for 10 inches distance to the narrowest part = 12 inches at the ankle. However, women's calves are not triangular! Most women's legs are narrow under the knee. The calf expands (according to their musculature) to a maximum girth at mid-lower-leg, then narrows sharply toward the ankle.
As one reviewer said, these boots will perhaps fit one who needs "more room all over" including perhaps an unusually shaped woman with maximum girth immediately under her knees.
My body height is 5'6" (166 cm) weight 175 lbs (79 kg) and the widest part of my lower legs = 16 inches *at the calf muscle*. Under my knees = 14 inches. So the leg-shape should be a curvy 14-16-12, not a triangular 16-14-12.
Advice: before advertising "wide calf", LE needs to look at design examples of high quality wide-calf boots made for athletic American women. Wide-calf leather dress boots from the better brands typically have a minimum 6-inch long gore starting from the zipper top and extending to the calf muscle area. The goring material seemed strong and flexible. Please extend the goring into the calf of the boot, where the extra flexibility is needed. With a proper gore inset for this shape of boot, you can use less leather and get a better fit with happier customers.
