Women's Down Commuter Long Coat
Warm coat to commute and walk your dog
This coat is good if you do not need to go to a fashion runway or have a date. In my opinion the look is more appropriate for a 50 and above years old person. The internal waist elastic band is adjustable (it's good as it keeps your body warm) but this will not change the look of your coat. Landsend pictures perfectly describe how the coat shape is. If you look for a young and dynamic model this is not the right coat. You've better order the Down Chalet long coat I would say based on the pictures.
I ordered the toast color ((LE picture does not deviate from the reality) perhaps in black it would have looked more trendy) and a size S REGULAR Bust: 91 cm / Waist: 77 cm / Hips: 101 cm / Height: 168 cm. There's enough room for someone who's bigger (let's add 5 cm to each of the above // too big for someone slimmer) I wear it below my knees (which is longer than the picture model).
I would like to recommend Landsend to draw a new line of this coat for young people but with the same features. The concept of the coat is great.
At the end I finally decided not to return the item as I wanted to avoid all the administrative matters but found in my cupboard colorful modern knitted scarves which will definitely add a trendy touch to my coat!

Warm, Waterprooof, Top Quality. The Best Winter Coat Ever!!!
I have been searching for years for coat that is not only waterproof, but warm and comfortable in frigid weather. I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern, CA and wanted a coat for those 18 to 35 degree winter mornings, for cold rain, and for when it snows. The women's down Commuter Coat fits the bill! I love the comfy fleece lining at the neck and in the hand-warmer pockets. The coat has roomy exterior pockets and the interior has two large pockets, and a handy zippered cell phone pocket. I like the fact that it has both snaps and a zipper. I'm usually in a hurry so I choose the snaps. The hood snaps off easily. I typically prefer a hat over a hood, but this hood fits well so I use it. I can't agree with some of the other reviewers about the fit. I am 5'5", 34 DD, am small-boned and wear a size 6-8 dress, depending on the manufacturer (size small at Land's End). I ordered the small and it fits perfectly! The length is ideal. It hits me about 4 inches below my knees, which is great because I need the warmth. I love the Clover Leaf green color - it's very flattering at not at all dull as it appeared on my computer screen. It's true that this is not a "sexy" coat, but I didn't order it for fashion (the coat looks just as it does on the model). After freezing for years, I am happy to finally have coat that is truly warm and of exceptional quality. My husband has embraced the coat because now I don't hesitate to walk around the lake with him on a 35 degree day!

I love this coat. The plus-size fit is very good overall; sleeves are ample in size and the right length (not too long). There is room for a bit of layering, but probably wouldn't be necessary because this is a serious coat for cold days. It is well-made with quality materials. I don't plan to wear this coat except when it is very cold (20 degrees or less), but on those days this is exactly what I need. Would have given it five stars except for the length, which is very long. Not everyone is 5'11''. At 5'4", the coat is almost to my ankles. I'm keeping it though because it will keep me warm on blustery winter days. Would love to see some plus-size petite coats from LE!

Best coat and keeps me warm in snow, wind and rain.
The Commuter coat is very warm which was my goal. I work near the water so the wind is cool to cold and always blowing. The hood fits well, does not fall to far forward. The pocket arrangement this year is functional with the inner zipped one best for car keys. Fashion was not my issue the need to keep warm and dry out weighs my need for fashion statements. I'm 5'3" and the Petite Large is the perfect length. I expect this coat to last for years.

Not designed for the female figure
If you are built with bigger hips/butt and a fuller bust, then this coat may be just for you. However, I ordered the petite small because that's my usual size and the chest was way too roomy and because the coat is designed like a tent, it was huge around my hips. It didn't flatter the average female figure and needs to be way more fitted. The coat does have an elastic adjustable waist but besides the fact that it really didn't cinch in the waist much, the little metal clasps that are supposed to hold the elastic in place would release the elastic before I could even get the coat back on. Thinking it might be that one coat that was defective, I ordered the coat in an x-small petite to try a smaller size (loved the color and needed a long down raincoat) and the slippage on those waist clasps was even worse. The x-small still was shaped like a tent and I was very disappointed because it was the kind of coat I really needed. Both the small and x-small went back.
