Women's Down Commuter Long Coat
Great fit and warmth - does the job well
This coat fits well, and is warm without being overly "puffy". Exactly what I've been looking for in a winter coat. Fabric is durable, and not the thin, nylon stuff that tears, or snags easy. Down is evenly distributed throughout, and keeps body evenly warmed. The only minor issues: the collar points are a bit stiff, and get in the way - depending upon how zipped up it is; and the back snap in the walking slit tends to pop open, when getting in and out of the car. Other than that, this item is a keeper.

Warm and comfortable!
I have had this coat for 2 weeks, and I love it! I have worn it during my commute, and also walking and snowshoeing in single-digit temperatures. It is warm and not as unflattering as the bulky coats with the quilting visible on the outside. I love the soft cuffs and collar. I wish I had splurged on this coat years ago. I am 5'4" tall, and weigh 158 lbs. and the medium fits beautifully.

Better than nothing
I'm disappointed in this coat. it fit OK with a very thin layer, but would never allow for wearing bib overalls and a warm fleece. In addition, the pockets are skimpy. In winter in WI where I live, we use pockets for hats and gloves when stepping into a warm place. Inside pickets can hold a phone and a wallet to protect from loss if you pull your hands out quickly. And, if you use this for walking the dog as I do, it's always nice to have an extra picket for the pickup bags and a couple of treats. Now I need to carry a bag to put all that in-it's inconvenient at best.

Warmest and most comfortable coat ever
This is my second winter wearing this coat. I don't know how I would have gotten through last winter without it. I bought it because my Squall Coat didn't seem very warm anymore. This is the warmest, most comfortable, most sensible coat with the best features that I have ever bought. I no longer need to wear a scarf because the collar is so warm and zips up so far under my chin -- also very very comfy with the fleece collar lining. I keep a hat in the inside pocket, although I rarely need it because the hood is very warm. The snaps are a great feature; the Velcro closings on the Squall Coat caught on everything and were a mess. The color of this coat that I bought last year is a lavender-grey. People stop me in the street to admire the color and ask where I bought the coat. The quality of the materials is excellent, this coat will last a long time. The sizing is big. I wear a plus size and the coat is roomy for me. The sleeves and coat length are a bit longer than usual and the coat is not as light as a feather. All things considered, though, this is a great investment. I do not drive, but take public transportation or walk everywhere so I don't live in a car. Last year, in one of the coldest winters we've ever had in NYC, every part of me that was covered by that coat was warm every day. You can't ask for much more than that.

Toasty warm in all kinds of weather and very well made
I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The cold winter wind has never gotten through its layers and I'm never afraid to brave the elements when I'm wearing this coat. Very well-designed.with multiple pockets - and features like the inside cuffs and snaps to the bottom that keep the heat in and the cold air out. Highly recommend. I'm 5'4 and weigh 115 and the Small fits perfectly.

The coat is dressy enough for work but warm enough to shield me from the Syracuse snow.
The coat is dressy enough for work but warm enough to shield me from the Syracuse snow. The longer length keeps my pants dry when brushing snow off the car.

Temperature rating -45° to -15° Fahrenheit is a joke, but still a great coat for warmer temperatures
I wore this coat for 3 winters in Russia, where temperature dropped to -25F. When the temperature was +20F, this coat was very warm. When the temperature was +10F, it was okay with a couple of thermal clothes under it. But for the temperatures below +10F, I had to wear another, high-tech thin coat under this coat. When the temperature was below 5F, even such double layer of coats weren't enough. When the temperature was below 0F, even 3 thermal tops and 3 tights/pants and the thin coat under this coat was too cold. In my opinion & experience, the temperature rating of this coat should be changed to +10 to +20 degrees Fahrenheit.
I still love this coat because it's waterproof, easy to pack (it gets very thin in a air-tight compression bag), pass-through pockets are convenient to store hats, zippered pockets are convenient to store gloves, snap pockets in front are convenient to store Kleenex and frequently used items such as phone or camera, internal pocket near the chest is good to store additional items that don't need frequent access (tickets, etc.), and adjustable cuffs with snap-on buttons are great. This coat doesn't use Velcro at all, which is great not to trap scarfs and gloves. With all these nice features, I absolutely keep this coat and will be happy to wear it over and over when the temperature is moderately cold.

Best Winter Coat
I have purchased so many coats over the years, wool, down, synthetic fill. This coat is absolutely the best one, hands down. This years coat is especially good. I really like that it zips all the way up the collar. The hood fits better than in the past and the pockets are improved- both side and vertical entry pockets with zip or snap closures. I'm also glad there is no belt. I'm not crazy about the puffy down quilt look and this coat doesn't have that. It's more tailored looking. It used to be I only wore it for the really frigid weather but the last few years I've worn it non-stop since the temperatures have been worse than usual. I have a few versions of this coat in different colors (from years past). This one is the best and I intend to but more than one when there is a sale.

very warm and comfortable
Today it was 10 degrees when I left work and I was so-o-o glad to have this coat. (In fact I bought 2 so I could use one daily (Navy- a nice bright navy) and the second one (in black) for dress casual. I love the longer length, the knit cuffs, the hood (albeit it is big but it sure keeps me warm), and the back snap flap. I am 5' 5" and 115 lbs. and a small (S) is fine - I drew the elastic band at the waist to give it shape. I think the xs would have been too snug to allow me to more easily (driving, etc.) if I tried to use the xs with sweaters, or dress jackets underneath - so the S is great for me. I wish there was a parka made exactly like this but mid-thigh length cause I would definitely replace my old (2005) vintage Squall jacket.

I don't hate Minnesota winter anymore.
I bought this last year after the first polar vortex (-40 degree windchills), and wore it through the next five of them without EVER being cold. We have serious cold weather where I live, and I don't think twice about heading out into wicked sub-zero temperatures while wearing this coat. It's like they thought of everything to make this a great coat!
