Women's Down Chalet Long Coat
My new favorite winter coat!
I absolutely love this coat! I'm 5'3" 137 lbs. I ordered a petite small and the fit is perfect. Pockets are lined and warm, it has a very flattering fit w/ back waist tab and its lightweight. There is a little room when you're layering or bulking up and I didn't feel restricted. I live in Michigan and our winters can be brutal. This jacket kept me warm and toasty all the way to my knees. It kept me perfectly happy while sitting at my kids outside sporting events too! I love that the zipper doesn't go the full length of the coat because it makes it easier getting in and out of the car. The only problem I seemed to have were that my arms seemed to short to straighten the jacket to get it zipped quickly. All in all, I love this jacket and would highly recommend it. I ended up buying it during a coat sale, so I have no complaints over the price especially when I saw what other similar coats were going for. It was well worth the money spent.

I bought this to replace a second-hand down coat of unknown origin when the zipper broke. I stalked this product for weeks, until it was time to pull the trigger. And it had vanished from the website. For days. I ordered another coat from another outdoor company (not the one in Maine), but was disappointed at its lack of warmth, odd design and no hood. I decided to return that coat, and decided it was time to resume the search. This coat was back online. I ordered it right away, though I compromised on size. At the time, there was no Petite XS available, so I ordered the regular XS. It still fit great. And not so much longer as to render it unusable. But, now I see that there's a Petite XS available. I just have to decide if I want to keep my beautiful plum coat, or exchange for a probably-better-fitting petite coat in black! Great features in this coat, especially for the price: fleece cuffs and neck, interior zip pocket (the other coat didn't have a zipper on the inside pocket--just a tab of velcro on one of the vertical edges); handwarmer pocket--though they could be placed higher. I would prefer handwarmer pockets right at about waist-level rather than hips. The interior drawcord is an unexpected surprise. Nicely done, Lands' End!

I Love This Coat!
I love this coat so much - I own 3 in different colors! The fit is flattering, it fits perfectly, and keeps me warm in the Chicago weather! I would love if you would bring back the navy next year!

Best Coat I Have Owned
I am so glad that I decided to purchase this coat! It is exactly what I was looking for. Living in Wisconsin, winter seems to last forever and can have windchill down to -40 degrees, and this coat holds up to that!! I am 5'4'' and 130 lbs. I was a little worried that they didn't have a petite small available, but purchased the regular small anyway. It fits perfectly! It even fits with a sweatshirt or vest underneath, but is not too bulky. It hits me at my calves lengthwise. The sleeves hit me at the palms, which is perfect for me. Also, the hood is amazing. Every other coat I've owned has a hood that easily blows off my head, but that doesn't happen with this hood. And last but not least, my absolute favorite part of this coat is the super soft fleece lining. The fleece is around the neck, around the wrists, and inside the pockets. The pockets are so warm, I wear my mittens much less than before because I don't need them. I absolutely recommend this coat, my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!

Love coat but be careful of color
I bought a black for my daughter, fits great and warm warm. However, they only had the plum in my size and it is way toooooo plum. The color is a dark, vivid, maroon/purple/plum. It was just to much. Had to return it however the fit was fine. It isn't super slim though, especially in the larger size, but it's a coat, what do you expect.

The sleeves are long enough, too!
I'm 6 feet tall, I usually wear a Small Tall in LE and I have very long arms and legs. I needed a new winter coat and on a whim, I decided to try this coat in black- it was on sale, I had a coupon and if I hated it, LE has a good returns policy. I am SO HAPPY with this coat. The sleeves are long enough, the hood doesn't have a fake fur trim (yuck) and my lord, it practically comes down to my ankles. I live in Boston MA and we've received 7 FEET of snow in the past 21 days- thank you for this amazing coat, without which, I might not have made it this far! If you ever decide to make it (in Tall) as a shorter coat, I'll be buying that too!

Can handle frigid temps!
I bought this coat for a trip to Quebec where the temps have been as low as -14 (with other weather conditions, equivalent to -33 and even below on occasion). I'm so impressed! This coat keeps me warm and protects nicely from the wind and falling snow. I am 5'1", about 125 pounds and purchased the petite small; the fit is perfect! It is so hard to find this type of clothing in petite sizes and this is great--arms, length all fit nicely! Might be a bit snug with bulkier sweaters. I purchased the brown color and it is very pretty. My only complaint is that the adjusting strap for the hood broke the first time I used it, so the hood can't be adjusted properly now. It would be nice if the pockets were a bit larger. Great coat! Can't go wrong!

Needed something long and practical on bitter days when not driving. This coat covers most of my wish list. Surprised that the product description doesn't mention the coat has adjustable cuff closures and an interior waist cincher, which for me are indispensable features for keeping wind from whooshing up your sleeves or up from the bottom of the coat. The belt at the back and the ability to cinch in the waist helps with the silhouette - reasonably fitted despite the design - doesn't look like a sack. Washed well - but I would recommend removing the hood so the down in the collar gets good tennis ball action. Took me 2hrs. on the delicate setting to completely dry and fluff the down. Would have liked fleece lining in the hood for ultimate coziness. The hood adjusts to be quite snug, but if you really pull it in tight so no wind gets in, it creeps down your forehead and isn't comfortable. I think I will have to wear a light hat or scarf under the hood so the hood doesn't have to be quite so tight - so this would be my one design complaint - but that's a small complaint. Had a chance to wear it today on a close to record breaking temperature low : 5 Farenheit and feeling much colder - and I was nice and warm and no wind drafts even though I hadn't really bundled up as I wasn't planning on an extended time outside. Re. sizing - I am tall and thin and always order smalls for all Lands End clothing and size 6 for pants. But I checked my coats from Lands End and all are Mediums (10-12), so I was hoping that whatever fit tests I had done before still applied. I ordered the Tall Medium and it's perfect. Down may be warm, but I still want the option to put on big bulky sweaters or several layers of clothing under my coat in the winter - a Small would have been too snug. Love the Neptune Blue - it's a lovely Teal - just the right color tone for winter. So glad I got it before it sold out.

I LOVE THIS COAT!!!!!
First, let me start off by saying that I have been looking for a down coat for over a year. I even ordered a few from other stores but returned them because the coats seemed thin and flimsy or too bulky. Not this coat - I love it. I get a lot of compliments and one morning a woman at the bus stop even asked "is that the Lands End coat?" and went on to tell me she was thinking of ordering it in the brown but now that she's seen it on me she definitely would order it (I have the blue, which looks beautiful on me). I have to walk about 30 minutes each morning taking the kids to school early and then getting myself to work (all anlong the cold, windy water) and I haven't been cold once. In fact, when I'm speed-walking I find I have to unzip myself and when I'm really rushing, even my arms sweat (there's a lot of down in this coat - they didn't scrimp, yet I don't look or feel like the Michelin Man). After all those years of freezing, I can't believe I found such a nice warm coat. I am very curvy/hour glass yet a small elsewhere and have had issues with other coats being too small in the rear or bust but this coat actually works. It isn't fitted but it isn't frumpy either. I love the fleece lining in the pockets - most days I can just keep my hands in there and not have to contend with taking gloves off and on to check my phone or find my bus fare. My only issue is the zipper is a little hard to master - if you don't have it in exactly the right spot it gives me grief. Also, it is windy here and the hood is always blowing off me - I wish it had some sort of fur around it to make it heavier and less likely to blow off. Honestly, I like this coat so much that today I'm going to buy one for my daughter in the petite size. She's only 11 but tall for her age and girl's sizes haven't been fitting her correctly. Recently, we transitioned her into Lands End ladies XS shirts (the art tees) and she loves them and nobody in middle school thinks she's a nerd because they are so fashion-forward. Thanks Lands End!!!
