Women's Down Chalet Long Coat
Well made & fits me very well
I purchased one of these coats about 7 years ago and was very pleased. The coat was a perfect fit, washed up beautifully and was every bit as warm as LE stated it would be. I would still be wearing it but it got a small tear in it (due to someone else's carelessness ONLY). I repaired it, washed it and donated it to a local charity. This new coat is of heavier (better) material, the Blackberry color is beautiful & fits me perfectly. Bought the new coat in early May but have no doubt it will be as warm as the old one. Great coat and I just love it - I have recommended this coat to many others (including my boss)

This is my favorite down coat I,ve ever bought!
At first I had trouble with the zipper. Read instructions and it is the easiest zipper I,ve used.
The fit ios a little big but lands end is always a little big . The drawstring waist makes up for the fit.
I,d love to have one in white also. I love the lenght. It is so light and warm. I,d rate it as a 5 star. And would recommend it to anyone for any cold area. Thanks Lands End!!!

Ready to face the Windy City now!!
I wanted a warm, wind-proof coat for these cold Chicago winters, and I made the right choice with this one. I got the red small tall (I'm 5'8"+ and 130 lbs. with long arms/torso), and it fits close but not tight. Falls just below the knee, almost mid-calf. It's definitely a fuller coat, but not bulky at all. The hood is not too tight; doesn't give me "hat hair." The fleece-lined pockets are very cozy, and at a comfortable hip height. The only drawback is the main zipper. You can't be in a hurry with it. It takes some getting used to, maybe since it's so far away, and I have to bend over to get to it. But I'm still thrilled with this coat. Highly recommended!!

great way to fend off the cold
I recently purchased this coat after wearing their "down commuter long coat" for four years (the zipper failed) on my daily dog walks (well, in the winter that is). At first I was not so sure as the coat feels super light when you hold it, seems much less substantial than the other coat. Now that I've had it a few weeks, and worn it on my daily walks on a windy Iowa prairie, I'm a huge fan. The hood works better at keeping my head warm than the other coat, and somehow between the design and maybe the square pockets of down, it's much warmer. I have been out in 20+ MPH wind with temps in the teens and actually unzipped it partway once I got warmed up! Only thing I would change would be to have access to the cell phone pocket from the outside of the coat, w/o having to lower main zip, but really that's not a big deal. Plus it comes in red!

Warm and Toasty
Because I live in Wisconsin, it just happened that the day after this coat arrived, I wore it. Normally I wash things first, but it got pressed into duty right out of the box and I am still wearing it nearly every day. I commute by bus and this coat is absolutely fantastic for cutting the sharp WI winds and keeping me toasty warm. The hood is down filled and it has internal cord ties for shaping and/or tightening it so wind doesn't blow up from the hemline! The fleece-lined collar and pockets remain a nice feature. It comes to mid/low calf on me (I'm 5'4" and get most clothes in regular, not petite) which is perfect. The zipper didn't bother me because my other winter coat is also from Lands' End and had the same style. The one thing I wish this coat had that my Diamond Down from 2 years ago has is a small zipped outer pocket on the upper left. That pocket is great for storing an MP3 player, bus pas, sunglasses...This coat has one but it's on the inside and therefore a tad less useful since ain't no way I'm unzipping in -10 degree windchills.

I love this coat!
The coat fits perfectly, is not bulky, but is extremely warm. The red color is just what I wanted. The styling is nice enough for the coat to be worn on most occasions - to work as well as in the country. I feel that I'll never be cold again in sub-zero temperatures!

Finally got a Lands End long coat for commuting!
I've been waiting for my old down coat to wear out or fall apart and it just did both. I have long coveted a Lands End long down coat because I ride the train to work plus walk our dog so that means more exposure to the elements than I would ordinarily like. The truth is, the older I get (52), the less I can tolerate being cold. Every time I saw someone on the train with this kind of coat, I would think, yeah, some day. Well, LE had a sale and my old coat was done and so the time had come. This coat is FABULOUS! I've already walked my dog on a 20degree day with biting winds. I was not cold! I was covered and toasty and HAPPY! I LOVE the chamois type lining around the neck, inside the cuffs and especially in the pockets so if I forget my gloves, it won't be all that bad. They have thought of everything with this coat: Long with a zipper that goes up or down so you don't have to have confined legs but can zip all the way from top to bottom if necessary. An interior pocket that I will probably never use but its nice to have. That chamois I already mentioned. A hood that stays on. And a little back belt so I don't look as much like Nanook of the North as I might have. It actually gives me a bit of a figure around the waist! It is light too! I am petite but bought regular because I wanted it long. It hits me about midcalf. The sleeves are slightly long but they have an adjustable snap so that isn't an issue as I was able to tighten them. I can easily fit a huge wooly sweater underneath if I need to. I might have put some trim around the hood but I'd rather no trim than real fur or faux fur that might contain some percentage of animal fur.....so its ok. I'm telling you...best investment clothing wise in years. AWESOME! I have it in red...I'm sick of black. Wish it came in true navy but the red is cute! I just might buy another in case it wears out and they don't continue the line...its that good! And btw, that "other" brand that is so popular costs about $100 more and never goes on sale. And frankly, I don't want a big N...F...blazened on my chest anyway!

I'm warm and dry!
I've owned three long down coats (other brands) in the last decade. This one is my favorite. The zipper and snaps are secure and the two-way zipper allows me to comfortably unzip the bottom of the coat while I'm driving. The hood pulls tight and keeps my head warm and dry in snow and rain. The fleece-lined pockets and cuffs are very comfortable and are great for when I forget my gloves.
This coat is very lightweight and not too puffy. I also appreciate the unconditional guarantee from Lands End because in the past my coats from other companies have had zipper issues after a few years. The length and fit of this coat are sleek and professional enough for me to wear to work.
I purchased this coat right before an unexpected snowstorm and I'm so, so happy I did. It is well worth the purchase price and I told all of my friends about it. I'm 5'6", busty and I typically wear a size 14. The large fit perfectly and zipped over my curves with ease. The styling is flattering, as well.

Some good, Some not as good so still on the fence
This is a nice long coat, very warm, and the fit is mostly true to size. I am 5'8" 155 lb and I ordered a large. The length is mid-calf. The interior adjustable-waist drawstring isn't necessary for me because this is where I carry those extra 10 pounds. It's difficult to zip up, the knit cuff in the sleeve is very loose so it won't be as warm, and the sleeves are too long (quite an accomplishment!). I wish there were more color choices (blue, gray, blue-based green). I bought the red and it's a bright blue based red. Since I need a long coat for SW Virginia's bitter windy winters, I may keep this but am 75/25 happy with it because of the zipper and cuffs.

Warm and cozy
I am a California mom who visited her daughter in cold Boston and this coat had tons of great features to keep me very warm.
