Women's Core Down Vest
Zipper makes it look cheap. The fit/cut is very different from the last few years. I bought small and even extra small last year but had to get medium this year.

Perfect fit and color
I bought this vest in Ivory with Navy monogram stitching. It looks perfect and fits me like a glove. I was apprehensive because I have a small frame but a rather larger bust size. I ended up getting a Medium. I can wear a sweater underneath and still have room. It's perfect I love it and it is a staple in winter wear.

Different cut than previous vests, but still attractive
I ordered several of these vests in colors that I didn't have. My regular size, Small, was too large, and I reordered in Petite Small and the fit was much more flattering. I am 5'5" and 123 lbs. I would prefer a vest style that shows more of the waistline, with some tapering on sides and back. The fit was fine, though, with the Petite vest, since the shorter overall length and smaller sleeve openings gave me a more snug fit. I liked the polyester outer shell which can be pressed for a neater look. As with the other LE vests I have, these are very warm and I like the chevron styling.

I bought this vest because I could get it in a size small long. The added length is nice, but it is larger than I would have expect for a size small, the waist is not tapered at all, and it is very cheesy - very little down fill, arm holes too big and an unattractive zipper. It also arrived with a perfumy odor to it. I'll keep it to wear around the house, but I am really glad I didn't buy it as a gift because I'd be embarrassed to give it.

I LOVE these vests!
I buy these vests because they provide a lot of comfort and warmth. Vests are my go-to winter wardrobe staple. You certainly get your money's worth with the LE vest. Many competitors' vests are of less quality and are more expensive. The selection of colors LE offers is amazing and they are feminine fitting/ looking. I bought a few last year and this year have added a couple more to my collection. The vests this year are slightly thinner but they are still a great buy. It is like wearing a big 'hug". I love LE products. Keep up the great work, LE!

Warmer than I had thought possible
I replaced an old puffy down vest with this one (after my daughters insisted). It's just as warm and so much thinner. It's so comfortable and a pretty color (purple). I even wear it over a blazer on my way to work. Have gotten several compliments.

Nowhere as good as my previous LE vest
Several years ago I bought a LE down vest, and liked it so well, I bought one for most everyone on my Christmas list. Since my old vest is getting a little worn, and I burned a hole in it standing by a campfire, I decided to order a replacement. How disappointing! Instead of snaps, the new one has a cheap, flimsy zipper-can't imagine it lasting more than one season. A layering garment with a zipper should open from top or bottom to allow for maximum comfort. The cut of the armholes is tight and restrictive; my old one has a cutaway front to allow for ease of movement in activities like skiing. The old vest had a longer tail to cover the sternum and keep out drafts-not so the new one. And finally the new vest, in the same size as the old one, is 3 inches smaller around the hips. Perhaps some folks like the svelte, slim look, but here in Downeast Maine, I wear my vest with a few under layers, usually with ski pants. I sent it back by return mail.

What happened to LE vests???
I've been buying down vests from LE for years and this version is just so cheap looking compared to years past. VERY thin, only a minimal amount of down was used. The vest itself is completely shapeless and unflattering. LE down vests collars used to be puffy and warm ... not anymore, it's as thin as the rest of the vest. True to size (does not run large in my opinion) and great colors. I will be returning, not at all worth the price. (What's going on LE??? ... This is not the first product I've returned this year due to poor quality)

Seemed really thinly filled, until we fluffed it in the dryer
When this vest came for my daughter, I was appalled at how thin the down was, compared to the vest I bought my son last year. My husband reminded me that it had been vacuum packed, but it still felt thin after manual fluffing and laying around overnight. I called to complain as I normally love Lands' End products and didn't want to see the quality go down. The customer service person recommended that I fluff it in the dryer with clean tennis balls (on air only) and then if we still weren't satisfied, to return it. I was skeptical, but did this. The difference it made was AMAZING! The vest became very fluffy and warm. They should include these directions in each packing of this vest.
We found the fit to be fine, and not too bulky.

Nice quality for a great price, but size down
This vest is super lightweight but warm! Does not add a ton of bulk. Great Lands End quality I've come to expect. If you are on the fence about what size to order, go down! I am between a small and medium in lands end sizing (I find LE runs big, I wear a 6-8 and M-L in tops elsewhwere), I ordered the medium thinking I would like the room to layer this over sweaters, but it was huge. Tons of room at the armholes and body. Reordered in a small which should be just right.
