Women's Core Down Jacket
A great extra jacket, lacks some details
As some others have mentioned, this jacket lacks some of the details that I enjoy with my diamond down parka from last year. I miss the fleece inside the sleeves (wind goes right up), fleece inside the collar, and a deeper pocket (these pockets are just a straight square, no depth, only one small snap that does not prevent an item--phone--from falling out). Would be nice to have a wind guard on the zipper, either inside or out (although it IS nice to not catch the zipper on anything when zipping up) and a hood (but I knew it did not when I ordered). The style is definitely boxy, not fitted. The only other drawback is that the jacket gets a little "crinkly" sounding in the very cold weather; kind of odd, must just be the type of fabric.
That all being said, I ordered this at a half price deal to try it out as an extra jacket (not a luxury I usually give myself). It arrived during some of the earliest, coldest weather in Chicago, so I put it to the test. It is very lightweight, and I was surprised, really kept me warm, even in wind and cold, and early morning drives to school!! I only wear it going from here to there, not out in the snow so far. I will keep it, and may order one for my teen daughter if the price is right!

This coat fits well and looks o.k. Unfortunately it is not nearly the quality of the Women's Essential XR Jacket which was the same price. I own two of those and love them. It looks similar but doesn't have brushed fleece inside the collar, cuffs and pockets or zippered pockets. They really skimped on this. I would have returned it but I was leaving on vacation when it arrived and didn't have time for a replacement. So disappointed.

This coat was not for me sadly as it was just entirely too boxy. I'm 5'5 and around 168 and I do tend to have a straight shape. I purchased this in a large and it was a little big. The fit is not flattering at all, I felt like I was stuffed into a marshmallow. The material felt much cheaper that the f(x) jacket I got last year, definitely not as durable or thick. This coat could also benefit from a hood. Sizes at lands end are all over the place. In the shimmer down coat I got last year, I'm a medium, the fx coat I was a medium and the long chalet coat I wear a small. I wanted to like it, especially for the price, but I had to return it. I was instead able to get the Regular f(x)? Down Jacket on clearance which fits awesome (why was it discontinued :( ) and the Everyday Down Parka which is a very flattering fit as well.

sleeves way too long
Sleeves go past my fingers. Wind goes right through zipper. Outside pockets have one little snap in the middle - worried my keys will fall out. Not the quality of a previous landsend jacket I own. Color (teal waters) is very nice. Can't decide if I will return it. Maybe I'll go to sears and return it and find a different brand with higher quality. Bye-bye brand loyalty.

Comfy Jacket for Driving/Shopping!
I finally found a jacket that is comfortable to wear driving, lightweight but very warm, & great for shopping without getting overheated like other down-filled jackets.
I am 5'7", busty & 180, so I decided to try the roomier Large Tall. Was pleasantly surprised with the length which covers my bottom. The sleeves are longer than the norm, but with gloves they are fine for me. No issues with wind blowing up inside, as I read in another post.
Today, the temp was 19 degrees,(colder with wind chill) and I was toasty warm. Don't let the light weight fool you. This jacket delivers!!!
Would totally recommend, and in fact, I just ordered another one in navy - first color was black. Great jacket for casual or dress. Paired with nice lightweight animal print black/gray scarf that I also purchased at Land's End! Happy, Happy :)

This jacket is really cool! It is very light-weight and not bulky at all - but it is really warm. I was surprised. The sleeves are long which I also love. And I like how the jacket is a bit shorter than some!

Love the Bright Lime!
Thanks to another customer's review (also 5'7" 130 lbs) I got the SMALL size (instead of Med.) and it fits great (i.e. consider sizing down if you are an in-between). Sleeves are indeed somewhat long, but I will enjoy the added hand protection provided by those sleeves and will simply roll them back when needed. And contrary to complaints about 'colors not being toned-down enough' I LOVE the bright Lands End palette! 'Bright lime' will be great for evening visibility - and the best news is, this jacket is indeed WARM. While we 'wimps' in the high desert of N.M. consider 29 degrees cold, it does get colder and very windy, and I this jacket will be worn all winter with a wind-breaker shell as needed.

Lightweight and warm
This coat is awesome in that it is so incredibly lightweight and doesn't add bulk like most "puffer" coats do. When I first tried it on, I thought there's no way this coat can be warm, but it is! Only drawback...feathers. Not at all noticeable until after about a week of wears - then I thought I was molting. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Although I had read reviews complaining about the sleeves of the jacket, I took a chance and bought it since I only wanted the coat for casual wear. However, there is something wrong with the sizing of the jacket, as the sleeves are several inches too long. My arms are average length, and I've never had this problem with any jacket or coat purchased anywhere in the past. I returned the jacket, but now I'm hesitant to purchase another jacket from Lands End. The store was always my "go to" store for jeans, turtlenecks, and coats, but lately I've been disappointed in the quality and selection of merchandise.

Love, love, love this coat. Everything about it. It looks great on. Its really warm (I can get away with something pretty light underneath it and still stay very warm). Its pretty good in snow (survived sledding and although wet, I wasn't wet underneath). I don't know why folks complained about the sleeves. No, they don't, but I much prefer that (I hate any tightness around the wrist and assuming you have proper gloves, nothing is going to get in easily). Sleeves are very comfortable and just the right length. I am a big girl (but with curves) and I got the 2x and it looks and fits perfect. Got the navy and love the color. Also got the matching accessories in some of the pics online and it all looks great together. Have a puppy I walk A LOT and I now live in this coat and am fine with that b/c its a winner!
