Women's Swim Tee Rash Guard - Colorblock Multi Stripe
not just for swimming!
I first heard of rash guards a couple of summers ago when my very fair-skinned grandchildren started taking swimming lessons and wore them over their bathing suits. The rash guards, along with plenty of sunscreen on exposed skin, provided amazing protection from the sun's harmful rays.
Decades of too much fun in the sun have taken their toll on me in the form of skin cancers and ugly sunspots. I should be slathering on sunscreen every time I go outside, but I'm lazy and forgetful and I just don't do it. So I decided to get some rash guards. I ordered different brands from different companies, but I sent everything except the Lands End ones back. The ones I sent back were well-reviewed, but they all had brand logos on them and were very form-fitting with high necklines--great for swimming, but I wanted ones I could wear with my summer jeans and crops as well as when I go swimming, and the Lands End rash guards are perfect for that.
I bought six: both color choices of this rash guard as well as two all-white ones, one dark blue and white-striped with white sleeves, and one that's just blue and white stripes. (I would have liked a little more variety, but I didn't want black, I didn't care for the patterned ones, and the really bright ones didn't have particularly good reviews.)
I am very happy with these rash guards. I particularly like the way they're shaped. The neckline is lower than those of traditional rashguards, and the sides have a slight curve to them. The material is silky-smooth and lightweight and comfortable to wear all day long. And they don't look like specialty-wear. They look like long-sleeved summer tops.
The directions say to hand wash but I don't hand wash anything. I put them in the gentle cycle with a mild detergent and then put them on plastic hangers. Once dry, they're ready to wear again.
They do an amazing job of blocking the sun's rays. A couple of weeks ago, I wore one on a hot, shadeless beach for several hours in the middle of the day and only had sunscreen on skin that was exposed to the sun. When I went inside, I was pleased to see that my skin didn't look like I'd been outside at all. But I don't have to be at the beach to appreciate the protection these rash guards provide. I'm happy I'm wearing one when I walk across a Walmart parking lot in the baking summer sun as well!
I'm thinking these rash guards run a little big. I'm 5'6" and weigh too much (170 lbs) and am currently wearing a 38 DD t-shirt bra. All of my rash guards are size L. I like the fit for everyday wear but they do balloon out when I'm in the swimming pool. If I were only going to wear them while swimming I think a M would probably be a better choice.

This is a good-fitting, colorful shirt that feels good on - stretchy and silky
I like the fit and feel of this swim T. I like the combination of colors. I wear it with slacks, not really at the beach. I have already had several compliments on the shirt. In the bank today, a person who complimented it said they were going to Sears/Lands End to look for one when I told them where I got it. (I hope it is in stores as well as on line!) It feels good on - a stretchy, silky kind of fabric.

Love this shirt!
Just returned from 2 weeks in the Galapagos and the equatorial sun was brutal. I wore this UPF 50 color-block, long-sleeved sun/swim shirt in the ocean, with a sarong on the beach, hiking, snorkeling and even after dark on deck. It is so comfortable wet or dry, I am a red-head and have to be careful in the sun, but I did not get sunburned and got lots of compliments on the fun colors and fit. I am 5'4", 112 lbs and purchased the XXS rather than the S based on other reviews. The fit is perfect - long and snug enough in sleeve and body to swim unrestricted, but not too tight. I wore it over a one-piece a couple of times, but found it super comfortable with just a sports bra and bathing suit bottoms. I don't understand how a nylon shirt is not hot in 80-90 degree weather, but it was not. Love it!

Love the color combos. Feels good on.
Doubt if these shirts will ever be used for swimming by me....I like the sun! But the shirts are great with white jeans for ladies who prefer long sleeves.

Great shirt, will buy more
I wore this shirt over my swim suit for hours at a water park. It felt comfortable both in the water and while eating lunch despite the 90+ degree heat. Great coverage--no sunburn and no embarrassing moments on the water slide!

Comfy and gorgeous . Will keep me safe at pool, beach or in the Texas sun!
My plus 1X was a beautiful fit. The colors are so compatible with both of my older LE navy and dark purple tank swimsuits. It looked better on me than the tie dyed, swirly design. Can't beat stripes for matching or adding contrast. Playful even. Will wear all summer here in Texas. Fabric is soft and breathable. Definitely 5 stars!
