Women's Classic Marinac Jacket
This isn't the "classic" Marinac
I have an original Marinac jacket, with the set-in sleeves and inside pockets. I wanted to buy another color (getting tired of black). Now, I see that this new version doesn't have the inside pockets that make the jacket so useful for travel. Please bring them back! I can only hope that this version being on sale means a new design is on its way (with inside pockets, please?)

Please make in XS again!
I love love love my XS purple Marinac jacket bought several years ago- it's soft, warm, and zipper pockets are big enough to phone, keys, earplugs, etc. I especially appreciate the pockets during air travel. I'm afraid I will lose this and wanted a back up - but the Small I bought is WAY to big for me and feels bulky instead of wonderful. (And from reading other reviews, perhaps this new version not as lovely as the one I adore?)

Marinac Jacket - a good jacket but less so than the original
I got my Marinac jacket the year after Lands' End started offering them, and it is absolutely the best jacket I've ever had. Useful in a wide variety of temperatures alone or layered, amazingly lightweight, warm, windproof, water-resistant, washable, and also I use it in extreme cold as a layer under my down jacket. Time to replace it as the zipper has finally broken. However after reading the reviews of the current redesigned jacket, I am wondering if I should instead take it to the tailor & have a new zipper put in. Awhile back I bought another Marinac - I think it was through your business line - but it was not the same quality and the cut didn't work for me.
If Lands End feels it needs a cheaper line, then keep the current cut, but please reinstate the original quality Marinac as well. It should be one of the "evergreen" signature pieces of the Lands' End brand. The "little" things make a difference! The lining makes it easy to layer & get on & off; the inside pockets mean you're all set with hands free; the elastic all the way around the sleeve works for warmth and so does the classic stand collar with its little flap. The set-in sleeves on the original give it a sharper look. I don't think you can get a jacket like the classic Marinac anyplace else, but I guess I have to do some research now. Please reinstate it!

Needs Hood and Longer Length
I've been wearing my husband's Marinac for several years and, while I love it for the warmth and rain resistance, I'm tired of bending over and having it ride up my back to reveal my shirt and/or bare skin if my shirt became untucked. Please make this jacket longer to cover the hips and add a hood. I ordered the Polartec 200 parka thinking it would be the same thing. No, it is not and it will go back. I'll keep wearing my old Marinac until I find something else, even if it's from another company.

Liked the previous version better
Have had this "same" jacket for several seasons and loved it. I walk at 6A in all weather and this jacket, alone or with a light layer underneath has never let me down. I was a bit disappointed to find that this newer version does not have the extended inner front lining or the inside zippered pockets. I'm keeping it but I'm not sure that I will like it as much as the previous version. Not cold enough yet [TX] to test the lack of wind break lining. Why oh why did you change perfection?

Sleeves are waaayy too long
I haven't worn my new marinac yet. It had to be returned because the body was too small. It also had sleeves that were three inches too long. Since I hope to get a larger size, the sleeves will probably be four or more inches too long. Fortunately I can sew so It won't be too hard to fix. It just seems a shame that a brand new jacket has to be altered so drastically

This jacket fits the spot
I am pleasantly surprised by this jacket. It has kept me warm and dry as promised and we've had some pretty extreme weather this winter to test it in. I'd looked at over 5 dozen (literally) jackets looking for one to wear with jeans and casual business pants. I decided to take a chance on it because my sister had another Lands' End coat that I really liked, but it didn't come in my plus size and because two ladies from extreme weather locations (Wisconsin and Alaska) both also recommended it. I like the half-elastic cuffs (didn't think I would). It fits well and doesn't cling (important to me as a plus size person). I like the navy blue color that I chose and am considering grabbing an extra. But what I like most is how light weight it is. When I first tried it on that worried me because I thought, "how can such a light coat keep me warm in the rain and winds we have here?" But I needn't have worried--it does the job well. I was also lucky enough to purchase it during a good sale. What's not to like? Well...my only half-complaint is that it picks up pet hair pretty easily, but we have 3 pets and it didn't really stand a chance. BUT it wipes right off with a pet wand so that, too, is no biggy. The only thing keeping me from rating this as "Excellent" is that I am worried it might be too warm for warmer days (hard to believe considering again how light it is). This is only a suspicion at this point since the weather hasn't afforded me a chance to test that theory. Even if that were to turn out to be true, this is a good coat and I recommend it.

Love, Love, Love!
I'm 5'8", just under 200 lbs and I ordered the XL. I purchased the red and the blue, and they are beautiful colors. This jacket fits wonderfully and is nice and warm. There is elastic around the bottom portion of the wrist and smooth material across the top for a finished appearance. There is an adjustable bungee around the inside bottom if you need to snug it up a bit, but I don't need that feature yet. There are two deep inside pockets and two zippered outside pockets. I have no problems with the zipper or any other part of the jacket. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

This jacket does its job.
I have had the same jacket for the past 8 years, so it was hard to change. But I gave the jacket its real test this morning. I have a 20 minute walk to and from work everyday, and today there was a storm with gail winds coming in, and a light rain. The wind did not make its way through, and I did not get wet. Stayed nice and cozy. However, they didn't have my size and I had to get a size up and it is much too large in the arms, and not tight enough around the neck when zipped all the way up. And then I was sad to see that just after I get my jacket in the mail, they have it in my size now. *sigh*... I am not going to bother with the return/exchange. But overall I find this a good jacket for windy and mildly damp weather and would be even happier with the right size!
