Women's Cire Down Coat
Warm, lovely, runs a wee bit small
Followed reviews and got a size up. Fits really well. Warm and lovely black shimmery black color. Runs to knee on me and I am 5"3". Will do nicely for a look that is a step up from parka length. A great deal.

Careful with plus sizes!
I ordered the coat in a 1X Plus in Black.
The coat looks just as in does in the photo. True to color, and the texture of the coat is as expected as well. It's well made, and I will most certainly need this coat to brave the coming Ohio winter.
I am a size 16 in tops and pants, and I always order a 1X Plus for my coats. Did the same with this one. It fits a little too snug in the bust area, yet fits perfectly in the shoulders and arms (I usually have issues with tops fitting in the bust AND shoulder/arm area, that's why I always order a 1X to make sure I have the extra room).
However, while I can live with the coat being a little snug in the bust area, it is entirely too narrow/snug for my hips! I can only get the two way zipper to about my naval before it becomes too tight! I am going to have the coat let out a bit, and hopefully this will resolve the issue. But if you are busty and have hips, just be warned that if you normally order a 1X, it might not be sufficient enough.

Great fit with room for sweaters!
The coat fits perfectly! I am a bit on the short side 5'3, but rather curvy, as in bust and hips, so I ordered the regular XL and it fits great! Perfectly long to keep my thighs warm too! There is plenty of room for a heavy sweater without the coat looking too bulky, there is a bit of extra room at the waist, but the belt nicely takes care of that. (I am a fan of long belts that tie) I love the zipper plus snap closure for extra protection from the cold, and the sleeves are my favorite part, the rib cuffs won't let cold in like so many of my other coats. I think I am a Lands End convert from now on. The quailty is great, the fit is perfect. I love the Shitake color, and it's not supershiny, but rather elegant as far as winter coats go. I definitley recommend this to anyone who gets cold easily, and who is looking for a good quality winter coat!

AWESOME coat and fantastic customer service!
This coat is just fabulous! I highly recommend it - it provides warmth without looking dowdy. It probably seems weird someone in Australia buying such a warm coat, but it's perfect for walking my dog on our "chilly" winter mornings (I hesitate to use the word "cold" after reading reviews from people who live in much colder places!).
Anyway, back to the coat: it's extremely warm yet feather-light. Unlike many other down coats, it does not make you look like the Michelin Man when you wear it!! The style of the coat is really flattering and looks great on (I find that usually you have to sacrifice fashion for warmth, however in this case it is warm and looks great on!). I love the fact that there are 2 pockets on each side: you can put your keys etc in the side (zip) pockets and then have just your hands in the huge front pockets - because the front pockets are really deep, your hands really stay lovely and warm.
I originally bought the Medium (Petite), being 5 foot 3 and a size 10 in Australia (that's about an 8 in the US). I found this to be way too large, so I exchanged it for the Small, which fits perfectly. I agree with the other comments about the belt being too long - however, it looks good tied so not a problem at all (I don't wear the belt in any case).
I cannot speak highly enough about this coat: in fact, I've also ordered the smaller length version in silver, plus my 4 of my work colleagues bought this coat as well (they were very impressed by the quality of the coat and value-for-money). Some seriously happy little buyers over here in Sydney!
I also wanted to mention the fabulous customer service and fast delivery to Australia. This is a great company to do business with - thanks so much!

Perfect Fit, Lovely Quality
I was delighted to find a coat offered in Tall. The length is perfect, sleeves are long enough, and the belt sits at my waist where it belongs. The only place where a little more length would be useful is in the hood as it feels a bit short. I got the dark wine in a Tall/Large and am very happy with the soft, soothing color. The design, construction, and materials are superb. Perfect for a trip to a colder climate!

Warm coat that hugs the body!
I received this coat in black L petite on clearance a couple of weeks of ago and it's great. It's a very warm, figure flattering coat. I tailored this coat to be my dream coat: I zipped the fur off of the hood and removed the belt- will eventually cut the loops off too!! The coat hugs the body so if you're looking for a baggy/roomy coat this is not the right one; I don't feel uncomfortable in the coat but did notice there was less wiggle room than other LE coats. My only compliant was that the pockets are too high up on the coat and wish they were side slit pockets; otherwise I would have given the coat 5 boats for excellent!!

Wish it didn't have "patch" pockets
I really wanted to like this coat. It is well made and has a slight sheen to it. I wish that the coat had just a flap pocket like the Cire Parka version--decided to try it and just didn't like it on me. The patch pockets interrupt the pattern. Belt is very long and was not preferred. I am 5"10", 165 lbs. with broad shoulders and long arms. The Medium tall was good but I could have gone with a large tall. Lastly, what is up with the "duck" smell? I was surprised at how strong the "down" smell was. Maybe this would have lessened with time and exposure to air? Not a deal breaker...

Wonderful winter coat
I have been looking for a longer down coat (have a jacket but wanted something that goes above the knee for really cold days). This is a wonderful coat. I ordered the silver frost color, it is a shimmery gray-silver, really nice and neutral, this color goes nicely with any accessories. Very warm. Love the fur trimmed hood (fur being very popular now I wanted something with fur, but detachable if I wanted). I would definitely recommend based on style and price. Does fit a little snug around the torso but not uncomfortable, fit around the hips is roomy. Arm length also good.

Love, love, love this coat
I hate buying winter coats. They are always either too sporty looking or so nice that I only want to wear them for fancier occasions or to work when the weather is clear. But I loved the look of this coat online -- functionally warm and cozy but nice enough to wear to work or out without feeling like I should be on the slopes.
I got the blue color and I think it's beautiful. The size was a little tricky for me, because apparently I am bigger in the hips than on top! So I bought the large even though I usually wear a medium in dresses and blouses, and it just fits around my hips. But the top is nice and roomy with space for a bulky sweater, if I need one -- but I generally don't because this coat is so warm on its own! I disagree with the reviewer that said she won't wear this coat if it's above the mid-30s -- I've been wearing it all the time this winter, and I live in never-quite-cold-enough-for-snowing Virginia, and I find it quite comfortable.
The best thing about the coat (in addition to the look and comfort!), which I totally missed in the description, is that there are so many detachable pieces! The fur lining comes off the hood, or the hood can button-off entirely, so on warmer winter days I can just skip the hood and it doesn't look like I'm preparing for Swowmageddon. The belt also comes off, and it is definitely overly long so I just tie it around the waist, as the other reviewers mentioned. If I could change one this about this coat, I would remove the buckle on the belt -- since I'm tying it anyway, I just seem to manage to smack my car or whatever else is in the way with that heavy belt buckle. But that is definitely not a deal breaker for me.
This is my first Land's End coat, but definitely not the last! I was very impressed with the quality and style and am now able to look forward to winter-coat shopping. :)

I live in Western NY and wanted a really warm jacket that could handle well in Lake Effect Snow and Wind, that wasn't bulky or ugly. I got this in a Tall Medium. I can wear a heavy sweatshirt under it and it just fits in the shoulders. The belt is too big, so I tie it like they do in the pictures on this website. It is a little big on me in the waist, but not enough that i would want a different size. I wore it to a Buffalo Bills game when the temperature was in the single digits. I wore thermal shirts and 2 fleece sweatshirts under it and was actually hot! I ended up unziping my jacket for most of the game. When it is in the high 30's this jacket is overkill because it is so warm. It does an excellent job of blocking the wind and is perfect for really cold days.
This jacket is not bulky at all, and suprisingly lightweight. I have another winter jacket that is not from Lands End that weighs a TON compared to this one yet, it is not as warm
