Women's Bella Flora Floral Pleated Retro High Rise Swimsuit Bottom
Really special suit!
This review is for both these bottoms and the matching balconette top. I have been looking for a throwback-style swimsuit like this for a long time. It's incredibly difficult to find one that isn't insanely overpriced (Modcloth) or costume-y, or from a sketchy retailer. While it's not warm enough to wear this yet, I tried it on when I received it and was thrilled. The pattern is vibrant and true to the photos here, and the stitching and fabric are of very high quality.
Sizing: I usually wear a size 10 in pants and jeans and a size 6 in dresses, so I ordered these bottoms in a 12. Be realistic about how much jelly you have! The fit is perfect, snug (but not tight) at the legs, but comfortable at the waist. A note on the waist: On me, these bottoms come right up to my natural waist, covering my bellybutton. This is the look I was going for, and I'm happy to see that represented in the photo above. If you're unsure about how this will look on you, try cutting an old one-piece in half to make sure you like the silhouette it creates on your body.
This is my first two-piece suit, (I've always had too much tummy for skimpy bottoms) but with the extra coverage from these bottoms, coupled with the va-va-voom of the balconette top, I know I'm going to feel comfortable and confident each time I wear it. Lands' End, please make this suit in more colors and I'll buy each one!

Bikini top too low and too big, color is not as shown
I saw this in the LE catalog and was super exited about this retro style suit. I do not purchase suits every year so this was an unusual buy. When I received it, the bikini top was so awkward. There are these removable push up pads which were completely unnecessary and the top itself does not cover well. The cup portion of the bikini top protruded outward so far I could have used them as cup holders. I am a 36 B/C cup and by far not an A cup and these were huge in the size 4. I removed the underwire but did not improve the look or coverage. On to the bottoms, they pulled in all the wrong areas and were not flattering at all. I am a size 2 in LE pants and the bottoms squeezed in all the wrong places and yes, this bottom does ride up which is unusual for this style. Lastly the color shown in the catalog was a very nice mixture of colors with the red flowers really coming through beautifully with the greens and dark blues. In actual appearance it is more pink and fuscia purples than reds which I did not find appealing. Wanted to love this for many seasons to come but just did not work for me.

I wear a size 4 Land's End dress, but found I am more comfortable in a size 6 swimsuit. I like the suit. I like the coverage the bottom has to offer and the top enhances my small bust line.

high rise swim bottom
I ordered these for my daughter, who use to be all about the low rise, now she wants a bit more coverage
and these fit the bill. They come about to her waist, as pictured, and they are smoothing to the little muffin top that appeared in the low rise, in fact, it's not even present in the high rise. She loves them and I love them on her because the fit is wonderful!

I am usually a size 0, and the size 2 fit well. Only slightly saggy in the back, but not noticeably. I'd have liked for the crotch to have been cut a little wider.

Bottoms ride up
The colors and the floral print are gorgeous but the quality of the material is not that great. The material is a little flimsy which makes the bottoms ride up. I was really disappointed, I wanted this suit to work! Unfortunately, I will be sending it back! :(

Don't buy this unless your tummy is completely flat!
I loved the balconette top that came with this bikini, so the swim bottom was a huge disappointment. My tummy is not a major issue in most clothes and bathing suits, but it became one in this suit bottom. The high waist put emphasis on my not-perfectly-flat tummy. Beware, retro style seekers, this may not be for you.

Not so high
OK...maybe its my body but this swimsuit bottom doesn't come nearly as high on me as it shows on the model. On me it comes just barely above my hips vs. under my belly button as shown in the picture. However I do like the bright colors and the shirring. I plan on wearing this with a top that comes down a little further so the Low Rise shouldn't make that much of a difference.
