I like these shorts because they have pockets, necessary for playing tennis. However, they are too long; five inches would be perfect.
The only drawback is that they are too long. Five inches is a good length.

Shorts were huge and cut was not at all flattering.
I had high hopes for these shorts--been looking for running shorts that weren't super short, and love the pockets--why do women's running shorts never have pockets? These were not the ones I hoped for though. The cut was very wide, and they looked terrible on. Sent em back--will have to keep looking.

this was the largest size medium I have ever seen. I have been looking for work out shorts and everywhere else the small is too little.

OK for tennis
I bought this short to wear for tennis because it has pockets and has longer legs. The fabric is a bit thin and I had to iron it even after washing/drying it because of the wrinkles from the shipping. I'm hoping now I won't need to continue to iron it.

Not very comfortable, compared to your other clothes
Bought to wear daily for comfort around the boat. To look good enough if I had to run to the store. The mesh lining was course and they wanted to turn sideways and ride up at times.

Too baggy and noisy
I wanted to like these shorts, since they have pockets. I read other reviewers comments about the sound the fabric makes when your legs rub together, but didn't think it would bother me. Sadly it did. My biggest complaint though is that the outer layer of fabric, (at least on my pair) is larger than the lining. This results in bags that you can't smooth out and a general sloppy look. I will be returning them.

Pockets!
how wrong can you go with gym shorts that have pockets? they are truly hard to find and these have two nice deep pockets. the length is good too, not too short.

Order size smaller
I prefer shorts that have at least a 3" inseam. I am 5'6" and 125 lbs with a 28" waist and 37" hips. These shorts are nice shorts, but the size small was too large for me, since I don't like my shorts to be baggy. They have a pocket and a longer inseam as well as a drawstring. If you prefer a looser looking short, these shorts might be great for you. I do recommend talking to a representative however, to determine the correct size, because I normally wear a size 6, but in these shorts I would require an extra small, which I believe they do not carry. Sadly, I had to return mine.

Shorts fit well and are comfortable. Pockets are very much appreciated.
Shorts fit well. I definitely appreciate the pockets, so I can have a place for tissues and my inhaler (I have asthma). Excellent value as always for Lands' End.

OK, not great
The lining runs small and makes the fit a bit tight. They are loud when you walk which can be distracting.
