Women's Allaire High Heel Tall Boots
Love the leather, love the price, hate the style...
This boot is perfect for a tall and slender woman. Unfortunately, I'm not. So, despite all the good things, I have to let it go. I'm 5'2" with muscular calf. Size 6.5 fit me well with thin legging. Unfortunately, this style is made for taller women. On a small frame with shorter legs, it makes me look like 'Puss in boots'! The top of the boot is slanted. It simply looks too funny on. I did think about having the top cut straight. However, it's not as easy as the Stanton boot. You may need to find someone who's more skillful to do so. So, bye bye Allaire High Heel Tall Boots.
BTW, the pair that I got must have been sitting in the warehouse too long. I notice the crease in the center ....

These are the prettiest boots ever!
I've been searching for a classy boot for a long time, (no buckles, or chains; tall; slim not chunky; and some heel) but did not want to spend a lot of money either.
I'm about 5 ft tall, and have thick calves. These boots both hit me behind the knee and are tight in the calf.
I took the advise of other reviewers and ordered a 1/2 size bigger -- thank you reviewers!
These boots are not perfect, but at this sale price, they are just fine for wearing once a week.

A nice and good quality boot but small!!
I got excited with the look and quality of this boot and didn't hesitate to order it with the great price. But I couldn't even get my feet in them:( I normally wear size 8 in LandsEnd and I did a mistake and order size 8 also for this boot. Even though I loved the style, I have to return it. I would say if you have wide feet like mine go half or one size bigger.

Boot is very narrow
Nice looking boot but very narrow and calf was not wide enough for muscular calves. Very disappointing because they were nice looking but had to send them back. Only buy these if you foot is narrow.

Needs an overhaul at the top!!
I have been looking for a brown heeled boot for the longest time, and thought I found it at Landsend. I opened up the box and looked over the boot. It seemed well constructed. The leather was nice, there were a few marks, but it wasn't a big deal for me. Full leather boots and leather lining. It is a gorgeous boot.
I usually wear a size 7 and like others recommended sized up and got the 7 1/2. The fit was perfect and my foot did not hurt at all . They did not look bulky or sag at the ankle. The heel height was comfortable and not too high from what I usually wear. Looked great , so far so good.
And then I tried to walk in them. I am 5' 2", petite and the top of the boot was hitting the back of my knee and was really bothersome and hurting. Also there was a major gap and my average size calves seemed to be swimming in these boots at the top. Maybe they were designed for pants to be tucked in them, but if you are wearing a skirt with this boot, then it looks terrible. I would have preferred a more fitted top, so as to be able to wear these boots with a skirt. The top should have been designed straight across the top and not rounded on the side and could have been a bit more form fitting, then it would have been perfect. The 2 side so elastic was useless as the top of the boots were huge already. If the boot was a tad shorter and lost around in inch to inch and 1/2 in the width at the top, it would have worked for me. Unfortunately, this beautiful boot will have to go back. Oh well, the search goes on for me, but if you are not petite, have wider calves and average ankles, these just might be the boots for you.

Boots only lasted one year.
I bought these last year for my daughter, 5'4" 115 lbs. They lasted about 8 months. The "leather" around the heels peeled off, the boots are totally worn out. My daughter wore them for work 3 days a week in cool and cold weather only. She lives 2 miles from her job and drives. I have replaced these with a brand name boot from a good store for 50.00 more. I do not recommend these boots unless you want to replace them every year. I've been buying from LandsEnd for close to 20 years for a large family. My opinion is their quality is deteriorating.

Great skirt boot.
Reading the reviews before ordering these boots was very helpful. I certainly agree that they are made for taller women. I am 5 feet 8 inches and they fit my leg perfectly. Nice leather.

Beautiful . . . in the box
I was so excited to order and receive these, wanting some dressier boots for work. They are so lovely in the box. Soft leather and just the right heel height. But when I put them on I was so disappointed. They are ENORMOUS around the calf. I'm pretty sure I have average calves, other boots fit me fine. but these were huge. That, coupled with the fact that they come up nearly to my knee led me to return them. If you have tall calves (is that a thing?) then get these.

Not True to Size
I was so excited to find nice black dress boots under $100 I forgot to read the reviews. Yes - you definitely need to order one size up - I ordered my usual 8 and could not even fit my foot in the boot. They are going back I've gotten great dresses, socks, jackets and other products from Lands End - but I don't know if I want to tie up my money ordering the next size up.

Poor for for a 5'4" slender woman, one boot defective
Normally I love Lands End products, and buy several times a year. However, these boots failed to please.
Positive: Materials were nice and boots looked classy and elegant before I put them on.
Negative: Left boot was sewn defectively making in next to impossible to put it on, while the right boot went on without a problem - and my right foot is actually slightly bigger than my left! But even when the boots were finally on, the left boot was so tight I could barely stand in it, let alone walk. You could see how it was sewn badly, with material slightly gathered where it was supposed to be smooth (like the right boot was). But ok, suppose I was unlucky to get a defective item, so I would not base the review on that alone.
The fit, however, was pretty bad as well. I am 5'4", slender to average built (usually wear size S here), with average to slightly skinnier than average calves, measuring approximately 14" in the widest part. Normally wear size 8 shoes, but ordered 8.5 in these, expecting them to run on the smaller side, especially with my high arch. Assuming the right boot was what these boots were supposed to feel like, it was the right choice. However, the boots turned out to be very tall on me - all the way up to the knee and maybe even slightly higher than that. Boots were too wide at the top - they are probably meant to hit at the wide part of the calf, and not at the more narrow knee. As a result, there was space for at least 3 fingers between the left and the boot at the top, plus the curved up sides made it look even worse. I actually liked the design in the picture of a model wearing the boot (it was on a different item's page, but she was definitely wearing these boots in it). She was clearly much taller though, as the boot was hitting her at the proper level on her calf and fit snugly. Anyway, the pirate look was not what I was going for, so off they went.
While there is nothing wrong with the design of these boots per se - if worn by a person of sufficient height, I take issue with the item description and lack of visuals. I would have liked to see a model actually wearing the boots, and her vertical measurements provided to aide the customer in their decision making. Had this been there, I would not have been likely to order these boots. And while Lands End does provide the item measurements, I am still not entirely sure where to start measuring the length of the shaft - at the heel or at the start of the shaft, so basically I am not sure how to read the information. And the top opening width is only useful if you know which level the boot will come up to on your leg.
So, while I would refrain from recommending the boots to taller women, I would definitely NOT recommend them to women of around my height or less. I'd say, you have to be at least 5'7" to pull off the look in these boots.
