I've been looking at this dress for a while and decided to order it when LE had a 30% of site wide sale. So far I am very glad that I did. I tried it on right out of the bag, and it looked great on me!! The waist line is about two inches higher than my natural waistline, which is very flattering on me. I didn't think I'd like the matching belt, but it is very attractive. It also looks great without the belt and with other belts I have in my wardrobe. The skirt is flared, but not to the extreme. It drapes quite nicely. It also falls about 4" below my knee, so I have the coverage I want and need. All in all this dress is of good quality and on sale a terrific bargain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by chesapeakers Not a good cut for my particular plus body type
I'm a 0X-1X depending on style. Got this in 2 colors in 1X and will be returning them due to poor fit on my shape. Its nice quality material and well made, but the cut seems it will only drape correctly on certain body types. I'm heavy in the backside, bosom and midsection with broad shoulders and look best in a v neck, surplice or faux wrap style. I thought the problem areas on this dress would be the belly and bum. But to my surprise, the problem areas are the neckline, lack of waistline ( this one may be that I just need a size down) and an overall dowdy, gunny sack appearance. The neckline has this odd 1-2" extra flap of material all around the inside of the entire neckline that would not allow it to lay flat, thus contributing to the awkward, shapeless overall fit. I think if you are similar to the models shape, and true to a 1X-3X size (no 0X available) for the plus size, this may make a great versatile basic dress. I would have given 4 stars if it was just not a good fit for me, but that bulky, awkward extra flap of material on the neckline brings it down a star, even if it had fit right.

Rated 2 out of 5 by mordred we got the length we ask for but the neckline is very odd and the waist is unflattering.
for years I have wished Lands end would rethink their decision to sell mid-calf length dresses only in Plus sizes (exception, you can get them in sleeveless with a keyhole slit in front). I have lovely dresses from 10 years ago, knit, empire waist, mid-calf length that could be dressed up for the office. I bought them from Lands end and they are still available but in Plus sizes. I am a size 14, 62 year old, with a responsible position at an engineering company. I had high hopes for this dress but it needs a big scarf to cover the bra straps and the strange not quite flat neckline (the drooping neckline dresses are even worse). the waist could be more forgiving (the fits me but it causes the hips to cling unless I wear tight control top pantyhose). If I size up, I am lost in the dress. why don't you look at some of your plus dresses, with higher gathered waists and a fine drape down from that and make them in smaller sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1farmgirl Great all-around dress
I bought this dress in the blue to wear for work. I got so many compliments on the color and the style that I just ordered it in black. Unfortunately, the pink is sold out in my size, otherwise I would order that as well. I usually don't like the boatneck cut, but it really works for this dress. I also thought the length and amount of fabric in the skirt would seem a bit matronly, but it gives the dress a nice flow. Could also dress this up and wear it out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MissDaisy Did I receive used & returned products ?
Not a good product.
I believe both of the dresses I ordered were returns because they were both stretched out ,shapeless sacks with blotches of faded colors that usually occur after few washes with dark colored T-shirts.
And both were shorter by about 2-3" than advertised length - another telltale.
I understand that the store have somehow try to resell the returns and offers them at a discounted price - but also tells me that these are really low quality products . If my dresses were new - this is what they would look like after I washed them . Actually glad that I received them in such condition so I can simply return them and don't think about it anymore.
However I'm disappointed - they looked so nice in the pictures !

I tried 2 sizes of this dress. My usual size fit a bit too tight for my comfort level-but when I sized up; the body was perfect, but the neckline was too wide and showed off my underwear. Darn!

This dress is awesome. I'm 5'8", 150lbs, with wide hips and this dress sits so well. The weight of the fabric smooths and the fabric bow trims the waist. Its long enough to be modest for work, but stylish enough to wear after as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CurvyTall The pink is gorgeous
I ordered this dress in a tall and took a risk on the Cactus Flower color. A vivid shade like that can potentially look cheesy and garish, but this pink is glorious. I wear it with silver and grey accessories to tone it down some so that it's appropriate for work. Every time I wear it I get compliments, usually with specific mention of the color.
Some observations about the style: I especially appreciate the length of the skirt. I'm a college professor, and it's nice to wear skirts that I can sit down in with my knees fully draped. I also personally like the boatneck style with three-quarter sleeves. It's a style I wear a lot, and I'm seriously tempted to buy this dress in the other colors.
My other observations would echo what other reviewers here have had to say. The waist is a bit too high, which I have remedied by wearing a very wide scarf instead of the belt. And the fabric -- while substantial, soft and of very high quality -- does show the lines of your undergarments. Add a half-slip underneath. Problem solved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LEfir1end A very versatile dress
I recently purchased this dress because it was on sale and looked practical. I also often wear the sports knit pants, skirts and capris. I was afraid it would look too matronly because of the length. However it was perfect. I ordered the black in med. I am 5'6" and 165 lbs. I have a small chest and waist and larger thighs. I added a colorful scarf and tights and wore it with boots. I received numerous compliments. This is a very versatile dress; next time I will wear a print belt and matching flats. As mentioned by another review, it is fantastic for hiding some not so nice veins.
