Rated 5 out of 5 by EmAitch Great Blazer, not as long in the plus size
I got this in Navy. It's not as long in plus size as it appears above. But it is very flattering, a good color and it washes well. I wash it in the machine, air dry it and typically it doesn't need to be ironed at all.

I like this jacket. However, I generally need my sleeves shortened, and that is a big problem with this jacket. Because they included the button hole stitching detail along with the buttons on the sleeves, shortening the sleeves is really hard. You have to take out all those tightly packed stitches and doing so will most likely damage the jacket. In addition, removing that stiching will likely shorten the life of the jacket because the damaged fabric will not wear as well. I can have the sleeves adjusted by taking it up in the shoulder but that is really hard too, plus expensive.
Otherwise, the jacket is nice. So if you do not need your sleeves adjusted buy it. If you do be aware that it will be expensive and hard, plus depending on the method you use, it can shorten the life of the jacket.

I am pleased with this jacket. I am short (5'3") and don't like long jackets. The jacket fits well in the shoulders and I am pleased with the sleeves! I have long chimp arms and trouble finding a petite jacket with long enough sleeves and a short enough torso. Size is what I usually wear. Only complaint is a slight bagginess/wrinkling in the front, as the model photo suggests, I am hoping the folds/wrinkles will decrease with washing. Quite a good value for a decent suit of decent quality.

The styling is exactly as described?classic. Paired with the skirt, it's a completely solid tailored suit. Other reviewers thought it was too short to be classic and that the sleeves were too long, but it's really not that short, and it looked good on my somewhat middle-aged body despite not being as long as the suit jackets we wore in the 90s. I agree that the sleeves are a bit long, but I appreciated that, since I usually find that jackets that fit me in other dimensions are too tight across the shoulders or short in the arms. And it really did go in the washer and dryer and look just as good when it came out, no ironing required. I was hesitant about buying it because of the disagreements about the sizing and style, so I would say try it. If it works for you, it's a really good value.

FYI, I am apple shaped and about 5'9.
So, this jacket went back immediately. I might reorder in a larger size and have it tailored because the fabric and general construction was great, but good lord is it cut small. It's short and tight across the bust. Strangely, the waist was fine. The waist is never fine on clothing for me. I ordered the larger of the two sizes I typically try and couldn't button the top button. I then went to my closet to try on the 3 other blazers I own from Lands' End. Two of them are a size smaller than I ordered here. One is the same size. All of them buttoned just fine. *Whew.*
So, if sizing up is an option and you're not too tall, go for it, but think twice if you're busty.

The jacket is a great colour, the perfect fabric and has a great cut in the body for a petite fitting but it has tiny narrow sleeves like coat hanger covers. They don't seem to have any shaping and I wondered if they are in fact faulty - size 8 sleeves in a size 10 jacket. They also have strange buttons on the cuff that don't allow you to shorten them which again is very odd. It is very disappointing as with the right sleeves it would have been a 5 out of 5 and I would have purchased another one. Returned to Lands End.

Rated 5 out of 5 by madrigal The blazer is a wonderful quality and color
The blazer is a wonderful quality and color. It will truly be a three season jacket, and therefore well worth the price. The fit is very comfortable. The sleeves are a little long and had to be tailored which is surprising for a Lands' End petite product. Overall though, this is a wonderfully practical jacket to have in your closet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ExperiencedLandsEndFan This jacket is too short to be classic--photo & description should be changed.
It's very hard to tell from the online photo where this jacket will hit, but this is not a "classic" - it is a semi-trendy short jacket that hits just a little below the waist. A photo showing it on a model would help. I am looking for a classic jacket (that isn't exactly like those I already have) to wear at work. That means something that covers my rear and that I can wear for many years. Women who are young and very thin may like this look and find it flattering, but as an average sized middle-aged woman, it did not work for me, so I am returning it.
The quality otherwise seems good.
