Very sturdy but a little heavy
Many shopping totes can fall apart after frequent use. This shopping tote seems built to last - FOREVER. It is extremely well-made and durable. And it keeps its shape as well. Also, it has an adjustable shoulder strap which is useful if you have to walk a long distance with your groceries. The only drawback of this tote is that the canvas material is heavy. Otherwise, I recommend it.

Love love love
I went back and forth between this tote and a more stylish designer tote for work. I finally decided on this one after seeing in on a great sale. I am so glad I did! This is the perfect size to hold my laptop, iPad, notebook and personal items when heading on sales calls. The wide long strap is adjustable so I can wear it comfortably on my shoulder or as a cross-body. The short handles are great for carrying on my arm. There are great sized pockets inside to keep my small items organized. And I loved that I could get it personalized with embroidery of any color. I got the natural color urban market tote with navy trim and had a salmon color monogram. It looks so nice and matches my spring/summer wardrobe perfectly. I would very highly recommend this tote before it's discontinued. I just love it!!

This bag is awesome. Great size - more of an everyday bag, not a grocery tote. I use it to take to work and it can easily house your lunch, a few file folders, wallet, keys, etc. I thought I would hate that it doesn't have a zipper, but for my purpose, it's ok that it doesn't. The combo of strap types is a plus as well. Definitely a more practical tote than the "extra long strap" totes. I hope LE brings this bag back in more fun colors! I ordered 6! Two for myself and the others as gifts and everyone loves them!

This tote was smaller than I expected so it didn't fit the purpose I intended it for, but it is a perfect size for day trips.
Intended purpose: keep by door to put dry clean shirts in the carry to dry cleaners. A little to small to hold too many shirts.
Used purpose: day bag. I can throw in my water bottle, keys/wallet, reusable bags and off I go.... I wear it cross body like a messenger bag. The inner side pockets are little too small to be useful. The only thing I've found that fits in are some markers I threw in for my son. I like the clasp for my keys and wallet.

This bag is exactly what I expect from Land's End totes. It is a perfect size, exceptionally well constructed and has a bonus shoulder strap.
This is the third urban market tote that I have purchased. It's an excellent gift choice that comes with the added confidence of the Land's End guarantee. It is sturdy, versatile and comes in great color choices.

I love this bag! It is durable, versatile and just the right size. It easily handles a binder, tablet, and snacks for the kids. The only thing that would make it perfect would be a zip top. I've been surprised how much I use the cross body/shoulder strap, it comes in very handy! I am very happy with this purchase.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!
I thought I would but seriously, even more than I expected. Read the rest of the reviews; I too wish that it had a zip top, I too may take a stab at putting one in (though I don't think my machine will handle this heavy of a material.) But I have plenty of uses for it that don't require that. First time I used it I realized how handy the combo of cross-body strap -plenty long- and handles would be. Carry it around on the shoulder strap, hold it by the handles to pull stuff out, while still leaving it across my shoulders. Easy and comfortable to do. Too many bags called cross-body are too snug for my liking worn that way- not this. Very soon after getting it I saw a purse with the same design and snapped it up. It wasn't LE, I'm just emphasizing how MUCH I appreciate this design. As others have said it stands up on its own, very very handy. Cons? I am not a fan of deep interior pockets- if they are on the narrow side as a couple of these are, I can't dig stuff out of them if it is not just the right dimension. The interior cell phone pocket in this does not fit my smart phone, but the exterior pocket works fine for it and is handier. Did I mention how much I love this bag? Like another reviewer I am going to buy for friends and family -though the F & F price is gone, this is still a STEAL on sale, but of course you don't need me to tell you that!

the perfect 'back and forth to work' bag for nurses and teachers
I have other Lands End bags, and didn't really need this one, but the wide shoulder strap sold me on it! I wanted to be able to throw everything in one bag, put it over my shoulder, and head to work (without a second strap constantly falling off my shoulder). This bag is just large enough for the things I carry daily, and the internal pockets ensure my fruit doesn't arrive crushed and any papers I bring home aren't in a crumpled up ball in the bottom. It fits my lunch, smallish purse, spare pair of gloves, and a couple magazines. There would be room for a small umbrella, also. It really does stand up, so I don't have an unsightly flopped-over bag when I set it down. When it arrived, I was so happy with it that I ordered four more; sister, niece, sister-in-law, and mother. I showed a co-worker, who ordered one for her and her teacher-daughter (who raves about it, too). I got mine on sale, but seriously, I like it so much that if I had to, I WOULD PAY FULL PRICE to replace it. And I don't pay full price for ANYTHING! I can't figure out why it is on sale, except for maybe Lands End totally messed up by marketing this as an 'Urban Market Tote.' Duh! This is not a grocery bag. It is super sturdy, and the wide shoulder strap makes it so much easier to carry back and forth to work daily than the traditional totes.
