Stripe Oxford Sheet Set or Pillowcase
One year review: Fantastic, and have only improved with age.
Having read all the other reviews, I'd like to first offer an important clarification. The characteristics of bedding fabric are important. Thread counts can be tricky to understand, and do not necessarily guarantee your satisfaction. Percale, Sateen, etc are all different, so if you buy percale sheets and expect them to be silky, or sateen sheets expecting them to be be crisp; you'll likely not be satisfied. This is not a function of the fabric types. These sheets are on the crisp, percale end of the spectrum.
As an avid wearer of Lands' End oxford shirts, I purchased these without worry. The quality of construction and finer details found in the shirts have made them my personal favorites. The sheets are no different. My expectations were high, and were surpassed. The comfort and feel of the shirts only improve with age and, as such, I waited a year to review this product.
When they arrived, I immediately laundered them according to the instructions to wash the sizing out of the fabric. Out of that first wash, the sheets felt almost too crisp for my taste, and I was a little concerned. They stayed this way for the first couple months, despite consistent use of fabric softener. (I wash them once a week.) I was puzzled, but not dissatisfied. It was around the 90 day mark that I noticed they had broken in just as I expected them to. Now, after a year, they're fantastic. They still have that signature crispness, but have developed a slight nap to the fabric which softens them to the touch. For my taste, it's perfect. In warmer months, they're cool and breathable. In cooler months, the heft of the fabric is enough to add warmth without adding bulk. I find that the top sheet is substantial enough that I don't need as heavy a duvet as I do with other sheets. (In the summer, the top sheet alone is often enough, and in the winter it acts as a very cozy addition.) The overall feel is, well, exactly like sleeping in your favorite button-down.
They're not wrinkle-free, as others have mentioned, but they're not a big deal to maintain. They iron wonderfully, and most often only need a touch-up along the edges and a couple of quick passes over the body of the sheet to keep them looking sharp. Every couple months or so, I take them to the cleaners to be laundered and pressed, no starch, and they look like they did on day one. (They also hold that press for a while afterward, reducing my effort in keeping them smooth. Your mileage may vary.) In general, I catch them right from the dryer, put them on the bed, and I'm done.
I like to use fabric softener and these are near perfect for that. It doesn't turn percale into sateen, but enhances the existing nappy softness. The day they're laundered, the whole bedroom carries the fresh scent, and it lingers subtly until the next washing. I occasionally use linen spray, which works equally well. (When I flip the duvet and top sheet back to climb in bed, it's really quite pleasant.)
If you are able to dry these sheets on a clothesline - they're out of this world.
The corners are sturdy, the elastic is the best I've seen, the sizing fits easily over a 16-inch thick mattress, and the seams and stitching are of the same excellent quality as Lands' End shirts. The fitted sheet pops right on and stays there and the top sheet is great. I've never encountered any other sheets that I would consider of superior fit and finish. At any price.
I own the blue stripe, and the color is lighter than you would expect. I'd envisioned something closer to college stripe oxford shirts, but the true color is more like "light blue." Not quite powder, sky, or baby blue; but the overall appearance doesn't have the contrast you might be looking for. This can easily be addressed by taking advantage of Lands' Ends free fabric swatches. Totally worth the effort to order them before purchasing.
I have these same sheets in the quest room, and I'm universally asked about them. "I love those sheets, where did you get them?" So much so I have the product page bookmarked so I can email it easily.
They make an excellent wedding gift.
In closing, I cannot recommend these highly enough. I miss them when I travel.
Understand the fabric, follow the care instructions, give them a little time to break in; and you'll enjoy these classics as so many have over the years. They're simply fantastic.

Awesome, Awesome Sheets
Am an admitted sheet snob and have had a set of RL oxford cloth sheets for years. The heavy weight of the fabric makes it perfect for the mostly mild winter months we have in Texas. With my existing set beginning to fray I started a search for new oxford cloth sheets. The first hit was Land's End and I didn't look back. I was hesitant to order as another reviewer discussed how paper thin the sheets were. I've had mine for over a month and such is not the case. While the fabric may not be a dense as the old RL set, the Land's End sheets simply are fabulous. Let's start with the fitted sheet. For once someone has designed a fitted sheet with copious amounts of room in the corner pockets. No struggling to get this on even the largest mattress. Kudos Land's End! The top sheet is also cut large and is truly square. Another pet peeve of mine. The pillowcases are large and there are four button closures instead of the three I had with the old RL set. They come out of the dryer a bit wrinkled but I don't mind hitting the pillowcases and flat sheet with an iron and a can of spray starch. When I make the bed it looks like it should be on the cover of a magazine. I only have three cons: First, like everything else the sheets are made in China. Would love to have seen the good ole USA represented here. Secondly, I bought the blue and white stripe and the color could stand to be a bit darker. That really is getting to be picky however. Third is price although I buy in to you get what you pay for. Bottom line, I like these sheets so much I'm placing an order for the same in solid blue to mix and match with the blue/white stripe.

I love these sheets!
I have been looking for almost a year for new sheets and finally found what I was looking for. These have a lovely weight and texture and, considering they are all cotton, came out of the dryer looking great. They are not completely wrinkle free but they are much better than other, more expensive sheets I have purchased in the past. I chose to have these monogrammed so I just ironed the hem of the pillowcases a bit and they came out perfect. The fitted sheet has plenty of room to accommodate my 18 inch pillow top mattress. I think the quality is excellent and have already ordered another pair in the solid khaki.

These Sheets Have Changed
Until today I would have said these were the best sheets. We bought a queen set last winter and have loved them. We just upgraded to a king mattress and ordered a new set of the exact same sheets in the king size. What we got today is completely different from our original set. They are much thinner (almost see through) compared to our old thick ones and they have almost no texture to them. Customer service was great and offered to send another set, but it appears there has been a change in either the supplier or the specifications that is very disappointing.

These are the best sheets ever!
I had my eye on these sheets for a long time because of the great reviews. When I saw a good price on them, I decided to splurge (even at almost half off they are still pricey). They turned out to be the best sheets ever -- after sleeping on them only one night I am ordering another set in a different color. Even my husband commented on them (which is pretty unusual). If I had any criticism it would be that the blue stripe was more pastel than it looked on my computer. I would have liked it a little bit darker blue.

I recently purchased these wonderful sheets to replace my other Lands End sheets that I purchased over eight years ago!! Lands End products are tough to break down! I purchased new king size and queen size sheets. They fit excellent, the quality is magnificent, and they feel wonderful to sleep on. I don't get turned off by the price of your products because I know what I'm getting. My family and I will continue to purchase your home products as well as your apparel. Thanks for making such dependable products!

Love this set. The material is thick oxford. The monogram looks amazing and the buttons on the edges of the pillowcases are a nice surprise. Ordered the set in blue stripe, and then additional pillowcases in solid blue. Would love Lands End to offer more monogrammed items.

I'm English, and for the 12 years I've lived in the US I've always purchased bed linens on trips home to the UK, as nothing I've found over here comes close to English cotton - until now. My friend had purchased the white Oxford sheet set for her beach house, and after sleeping on them, I had to get myself a set. I bought both the blue Oxford stripe and the white sheet set, and love them both. They definitely benefit from a wash prior to first use, to get rid of some of the stiffness, but that's all they need. Like some other reviewers have pointed out, the fitted sheet is a little large, but I'd rather have that than struggle with trying to fit an overly small sheet. They don't feel exactly like English cotton (that's considerably softer), but they're really wonderful to the touch. One thing I appreciate in particular, is that these sheets somehow keep you cool while you sleep - I'm not sure how, but as a very warm sleeper, I'm very glad they do! I would highly recommend these sheets, and am considering purchasing another set in the Oxford multi-stripe.

These sheets are fantastic!
I have become quite the textile junkie in recent years. One thing I have always held to a high standard is my bedding, even before becoming a textile junkie. I've been learning a lot about how textiles are made, and I've been wanting a bed set from The Oriole Mill. (Yea, look that up and cry a bit) well I can't afford their sets. The quality of these sheets from lands end will hold up for years, no they aren't made in America, but they are incredibly well made. I was worried because I couldn't tell how deep the pockets on the fitted sheets are, and if they would fit over my monster mattress with topper. We must have an 18 inch mattress and these fit well, all the way down and under all the corners. All the sheets I've bought from high end big box type department stores fit the depth, but they seem to skimp on fabric because they never cover the sides of the mattress all the way down. These cover all the way down the entire mattress and even go under the sides a little too. The button detail on the pillow cases is super cute and I did not expect that the buttons would be such good quality. They are nice and thick and look like they will actually keep the pillowcase shut. Nice work Landsend, I've been converted for life. I will be slowly switching my entire linen closet over and all my kids beds too. I'm particularly happy that they are Oeko-tex certified and if you don't know what that is, look into that too, great information.

I have found the perfect sheets for fit, comfort and color!
I have been looking for the fresh, crispy sheets that were always on my bed when I visited my Gran. She washed them and hung them outside to dry. They would go from the clothes line to our beds. I used to love the crispness as we gave them a shake and put them back on the beds. As to other reviews that compared the feeling these sheets have to a husbands shirt, they are absolutely correct. I'm so thrilled I finally found the sheets I've missed for most of my adult life that I'll be ordering another set. It would be great to see a solid color to mix with the stripes. I always read reviews before I make a purchase and am very grateful for that guidance. While some reviews mentioned that the price was a bit high, I have absolutely no problem paying for this comfort every time I slip into these sheets. As I've told many of my friends, these are some serious sheets!
