School Uniform Solid Long Pleated Skirt
Excellent skirt for my daughter
I bought this for my daughter, a little bit big. She wore it for several years and looked fantastic. Now I plan to get another one in a larger size.

Beautiful modest school uniform skirt
Skirt fits well, true to size in my daughters case. Plenty of leg-room to allow her to run around on the school playground. She also likes its "twirliness." Adjustable waist is a handy feature. Packaging creases were an issue at first. However, after ironing the creases out and washing the skirt a couple times, they disappeared. No more ironing required. My only regret is that Lands' End doesn't offer the skirt in khaki, also.

Modest, Soft, Beautiful!
I've never left a Lands End review, but after seeing the low ratings on this skirt, I just had to chime in.
After scouring the internet for a lower priced navy uniform skirt that would fall below the knees, I finally found and purchased one made by one of the big name uniform companies. It was horrible. The skirt was so stiff, it could have stood up on its own, even after repeated washings. Despite the kick pleat, my daughter couldn't move freely in it. It was terribly uncomfortable and my daughter hated wearing it. What a disaster!
I broke down and bought this skirt, even though it far exceeded my budget. It is a bargain! My thin daughter falls between sizes, and I went with the larger one. I think the smaller would have fit just as well, probably falling to mid-calf, as the description states. The larger skirt falls modestly to the lower calf; what I consider a true tea length, rather than "below-the-knee" (which isn't, when one is sitting!). The waist fits fine and I find the style very becoming on a slim hipped girl. The skirt has stayed nicely pleated without ironing. Best of all, it is soft! My daughter is comfortable. She can run and play and do all the things active children should, all while looking tidy, neat, and modest.
Thank you, Lands End!

Mid-calf? It fell below my ankles! The waist was MUCH too big and it came out of the bag wrinkled and misshapen! I am really disappointed...

This skirt was huge and sat on my hips, even though I bought it based on measurements.
I like the idea of this skirt, but it was huge. It became the subject of some very funny jokes. :) The quality is good, and the style is good as well. Value for dollar is strong. But the measurements must be off. It was 4" bigger at the waist than I expected, and possibly it was mistakenly tagged.

Perfection in a Skirt
I already own four of these skirts and will continue to buy more and more in case they are ever discontinued. This is the perfect skirt. Great cut, great color (navy), great length when the legs aren't tanned!, and no ironing needed. This skirt looks so well made...and it is. It is extremely versatile, going from dressy to quite casual depending on what you pair it with. I feel confident when I wear this: it is swingy and cute and classic. Perfection in a skirt!

Disappointment.Not what I expected.
I ordered this as a school skirt for my grade 11 daughter. She was very excited about it because she had the girl's one when she was younger and it was very nice. However, as soon as she took this one out of the bag, she was disappointed. Although the quality was very good ,excellent fabric, it fit big and the shape just did not work. First of all, the description says it hits at midcalf, but on her,it fell to just above her ankles, and she is 5 foot 7;secondly, the pleats were narrow and the skirt seemed to go in at the bottom. As a sidenote, the descprition says that the fabric is wrinkle resistant, but it was wrinkled when we took it out of the bag. Unfortunately, it just simply will not work as her school skirt.
