Rated 5 out of 5 by Jojosmom My son has only used it for 2 1/2 weeks but no complaints. He has broken more than one backpack in one day before.
The embroidery looks great at it holds everything a fourth grader needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Warehouse Great bag, minor issues
I got this bag for my 1st grader. He was really excited to pick it out and choose how he wanted his initials on it. We've had this bag in use for a little over a week, and have had two minor issues. The first, the pull-cord on a zipper came off. There is a little clip on the ends of the string, and my husband was able to fix it. Second issue, there is a clip that goes across the chest. My son was able to pull this off the bag. I don't really know how to explain it, but my husband was again able to fix it by rethreading it onto the bag (like a zipper). I consider these minor issues, but I was a little disappointed to have both things happen within the first few days of use. Overall, it is a great bag. Not to bulky for my small child. I hope that he will be able to use this for several years. I will update if there are other issues or concerns.

My son loves his new backpack, he was playing with it for the next week after he got it, school doesn’t start for another 3 weeks and he can’t wait to take this backpack to school.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KellyMom He loves it
I bought this backpack for my kindergartener. He likes to put his gloves in the back pocket. He tells me that it is easy to carry. His older siblings all have Lands End backpacks that have lasted for years and I expect the same from this one. Even though the backpack is not heavy, it is strong and well made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NYCForever Great backpack - shame about the logo
I ordered the blue version of this backpack which my 7 year old son had chosen. He wanted to have his school logo put on it which I duly ordered. Unfortunately the logo was stitched in green so it is quite hard to see on the blue nylon. I let my son look at it before I mentioned it and he picked up on it straightaway and was disappointed. I am not sure why anyone would chosen to use green stitching on a blue backpack!
I also ordered the deck gray version for my 4 year old son. His (same) logo was stitched in white and looks great - which makes the difference between the two backpacks more evident.
The term has started and it is time consuming to return goods so we will have to keep it now.
The backpacks are of high quality and look very smart - as they should as they are quite expensive.

My son has had this backpack for two school years. We loved it! It is just now starting to show wear, but we still use it for overnight stays at friends' houses and even to carry his Xbox and all his games to Grandma's. One bungee just broke, but everything else works fine. My son used it for third AND fourth grade. Like most Land's End items, this one has lasted forever. I have even thrown it in the washer several times. The chest strap worked wonderfully when he needed it. My son is starting to bring heavy books home now, so we will switch to something with more support, but this bag has been awesome!

Rated 2 out of 5 by StacieM Some Design Flaws but the Bag Itself is Okay
I bought this backpack last year for my son who was in Kindergarten. After about 6 weeks I wanted to return it. The backpack itself has held up; no rips or tears in the fabric. Our problem was with the bungee cord and clips. There are 2 plastic outer clips on each side and 1 plastic slide for the bungee cord. 2 of the 3 broke within the first 6 weeks of owning the bag. Eventually I had to cut off the bungee cord to keep it out of my son's way. This year I'm going for the classmate bag for my son. My daughter has used hers for 2 years and will be using it again for another school year this year.
